About Brian Heade

Brian was born in Cardiff, Wales and Val in Hampton Court, Surrey. We have been living outside of the UK since 1980, and retired to Cyprus in 2008.

Brian Heade purchased this villa in 2000

Why Brian Heade chose Paphos & Suburbs

We built our main home in 1994, and later had the opportunity to purchase the plot in front of ours. So, we were able to build the holiday home in 2000, two levels below us, which enabled us to save our magnificent views.

What makes this villa unique

The benefit of the home, is that, Brian and Val live above the property for any local advice and problem resolutions. However, we do try to have minimal impact on the guests, and carry out the gardening and pool cleaning facilities when guests are not in residence

Home from Home in Tranquil Setting

  • 5 of 5

As this was our 7th visit to this home from home, it is difficult to know what to add to previous reviews. The villa is exactly as described in the listing and the owners Brian and Val are superb hosts, who are on hand if required for recommendations etc, but never intrusive. The welcome breakfast, including home made jam, is great, especially if your flight is late in and you don't wake up until 1pm! You do need a car to make the most of the quiet out of town location, but that is all you need apart from clothes. With airline weight restrictions it is great to be provided with all the essentials, right down to beach towels, shampoo and shower gel. If you have favourite brands, most are available in supermarkets. In fact, one of them stocks Tesco branded products.

One bedroom villas are rare and this is a gem not to be missed. We are already looking forward to next year.

Owner's Response: We always look forward to Ben and Tania's return to our villa, as they are so positive about Cyrus and have been coming here for 21 years. They love their 'home from home', which is much easier to manage than them buying into a timeshare system, with all the expense and worry that type of investment would bring! We look forward to their return next year, and we know when they will be coming because they always book early to avoid disappointment.

Feels like a second home by now

  • 5 of 5

What is it that made us to come back to this place the fourth time, and what is it that already makes us to look forward to our next stay? It's the tranquility of the setting, the idyllic garden, the picturesque view to the sourrounding hills and the sea, the tidy house equipped with everything you need, and all the little extras Val and Brian will provide you - such as fresh fruits from their neighbours' garden, self-made fig jam, hummus, beetroot-chocolate cake (wow!), and of course: Brian's infamous Cyprus Brandy Sours (we never had better ones elsewhere!). Thanks again for another lovely holiday! David and Patrick

Owner's Response: Many thanks for David and Patrick for this glowing critique of your stay. I can only claim responsibility for the Brandy Sours, the beetroot cake is the domain of Val. We very much look forward to seeing you again in the not to distant future. Best Regards, Brian & Val

Quality property with an idyllic location

  • 5 of 5

Private and peaceful setting with the property having every amenity on hand along with an excellent swimming pool. The owners Brain and Val(suitably on hand if needed) prepared a lovely starter pack prior to arrival along with a detailed map to reach the property. At the property there was a detailed information pack for all the local restaurants, lovely scenic drive routes along with options for all types of sightseeing; WiFi was also available. Val and Brian were very accommodating with useful tips on what to do and how to manage your stay in Cyprus-all in all a brilliant welcome, great property in such a tranquil setting- will highly recommend to friends - and certainly will return-no stress at all -just what we wanted Chris and Liz 6/5/16

A lovely place for vacationers

  • 4 of 5

This was our first stay at the villa, which was recommended to us by some good friends living close nearby.

We arrived by car from Larnaca airport which is about a 160 km drive to Tsada.

When entering the premises we were immediately impressed by its wonderfully styled and well kept garden with its fantastic lemon tree, blooming flowers, plants and cosy and shady sitting areas. And we also enjoyed the lovely view down the valley overlooking Paphos with its flickering lights at night time.

Another positive element is the quietness of the place – some city folks may yet have to get adjusted to such tranquility.

The villa itself was absolutely suiting our needs and expectation. It has all the amenities a vacationer needs and the living room emanates a homelike athmoshere. Not to forget the carepackage for breakfast and the comprehensive information material provided by Brian & Val.

There is no WiFi in the villa. This may be felt a deficiency for some people – on the other hand one can enjoy this as a temporary relief from everyday internet hassle.

The swimming pool in the first half of April was still too fresh for a comfortable swim; however provided nice areas for sunbathing. In midsummer it certainly constitutes a good asset of the villa.

So all in all we were very happy staying there and when we eventually will return to Cyprus we certainly will seek another retreat in this villa.

Lovely villa, great location, everything you need

  • 5 of 5

Our first trip to Cyprus, we really enjoyed staying in the villa - a perfect home away from home.

The villa had absolutely everything we could possible need, really only needed to take clothes! Very clean, spacious and comfortable.

The garden and pool area is lovely, and has great facilities cooking/eating outside.

Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and preaceful time away!

Owner's Response: Many thanks to Amber and Phil for their contribution to our glowing reviews. It is unusual for Val and I to get guests in their 20's renting the villa. However, due to a very warm Winter they were able to make use of the swimming pool, which was a bracing 22C! We wish them both well, especially with the arrival of Blake in two months time.

A splendid wee villa

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tsada. The villa is perfect for a couple and has everything we needed, with the exception of wi-fi which we could access outside Brian and Val's villa or in the local taverna. It is in a remarkably quiet setting with well maintained and attractive gardens. The large pool was a bit nippy but it was February after all. Brian and Val are on hand to give any advice you may need and there is a mass of information in the villa. We did a lot of walking and can particularly recommend the Atalante trail at Troodos (long drive, though), the Aphrodite trail at Akamas, and the Avakas gorge if you like a wee scramble.

Some advice for prospective travellers to Tsada:

Do hire a car from Brian's recommended firm; Andy Phillips met us at the airport, told us not to worry about the odd scratch and to call in to his garage sometime in the week to sort out the paperwork!

Do get some real ale from the local microbrewery.

Don't believe Brian's dire warnings about bad weather in February.

Do make use of his kindly offered golf clubs to play at Minthis Hills; go mid-afternoon for a quiet round and twilight green fee.

Do revel in the taste of oranges as they should taste.

Do ask Brian and Val for a taste of their home-grown olive oil - it's a revelation.

Owner's Response: Thank you Anonymous, who translate into Laurie and Tina from Inverness, for a glowing review. It was a pleasure having them to stay, and I must say that they had the best February weather that we have ever experienced in Cyprus (newspapers say that it was the warmest for 100 years!). It was their first trip to Cyprus and Val and I believe that it might not be their last. They certainly took advantage of our reference books and always appeared to be hiking or driving all over Cyprus. They even drove to Nicosia and walked across the Ledra St gateway to the Northern part of Nicosia which is home to the Turkish Cypriot residents - they had a wonderful day out noting the differences between the cultures. We sincerely hope that they return some day to further their initial experiences of Cyprus. Many thanks from Brian & Val
