We joyfully lived in Casa de Luna for a year, while our new home was being built. This unique and coveted location is only a 15 minute walk, 5 minute bike ride and .5 mile drive to downtown Sonoma Square. It is quiet, peaceful and has everything you need to live for a month or a lifetime.
Behind the cottage, there are mountain and meadow views, surrounded by flower gardens, olive and fruit trees, starry skies and full moons. A serene country setting, for both friends and family, is the ideal getaway.
The Casa de Luna is a specially crafted cottage, situated on one acre and located in the heart of the city of Sonoma. The exclusive cottage offers designer style living in 840 square feet, with field and mountain views from a beautiful patio in the rear. Casa de Luna cottage consists of two major buildings, connected by a breezeway. The cottage is located in the rear of our property with complete privacy and security. Parking is next to the cottage. it is .5 miles to town and a 15 minute walk. The cottage is next to the bike trail, for easy access to restaurants, wineries and the Town Square.
It is also an easy driving distance to some of the most scenic areas of the country...San Francisco (45 minutes), the North coast of Mendocino (one hour), Lake Tahoe (3 hours) and Yosemite ( 3 hours).

A beautiful piece of property and lovely cottage with every amenity required. We also enjoyed the beautiful outdoor dining area and had a restful nap in the hammock. Everything was perfect!
Our stay in Sonoma was awesome. The cottage is very relaxing with a comfy outdoor space, BBQ, chickens and a breeze almost every afternoon. We rode our bikes to the square and on the beautiful Sonoma bike trails. Jim and Diana are delightful hosts and made our stay extra special!
This is a Well located house in a quiet area of Sonoma. Ideal to explore the Napa valley.
Charming mother-in-law/bungalow unit on the edge of Sonoma. Perfect location for wine tasting throughout the Valley. Once you get used to the small separation between the kitchen/shower and the bedroom, you can kick back and enjoy. The bed is comfy and you have all that you need to relax during your stay. There is a ton a privacy from the main house and you will love the sunsets on your back patio. The country feel is really enhanced by the small chicken coop at the back edge of the property. Don't worry about noise though. Spoke with the owners on a couple of occasions and they were incredibly nice. Great communication also.
Although the weather was rainy during our stay in Sonoma, we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage. It was very charming and unique, and the view to the backyard (on a 1 acre land!!) is truly amazing. I walked or jogged to downtown Sonoma everyday, and it was just a very short drive to the plaza.
I write this now comfortably ensconced on the couch looking out on the garden through the French doors, warm while it rains and the wind blows outside. I leave tomorrow and am sad to leave this beautiful cottage that offered an amazing retreat from busy city life.
If you love birds, birdsong, and wildlife in beautiful garden peaceful surroundings this is the cottage for you. On sunny days, sitting out on the lounge chairs on the patio overlooking the expansive garden, watching the sheep play in the farm across, the chickens happily grazing in their coup, and the various kinds of birds flying from tree to tree and chirping away on branches and at your feet, then you can achieve true zen peace. I forgot many times to continue reading the book in my hand to just admire the life and beauty surrounding me.
The cottage itself is the perfect size for one or two. You realize you don't need much and yet it has everything. I didn't get a chance to meet Diana but I had many lovely afternoon brief chats with Jim. He was wonderfully friendly and accomodating and offered me rides into town if I needed anything and farm fresh eggs from the chicken coup, all the while still leaving me my space, and the quiet of my retreat.
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who desires a peaceful, nature filled, garden oasis with all the best of indoor/ outdoor living. I can't wait to come back and make this cottage a yearly retreat destination.
Thank you Jim, Diana and Lady!
