About Nicky and Eddie
Nicky and Eddie have lovingly restored this beautiful Victorian property over the years and now they would like to share it with vacationers. Nicky has many years in management in the hotel industry and knows all about hospitality. Eddie is a civil engineer and general contractor by trade and ensures the building is up to code and running smoothly. They take great pride in the fact that all systems of the building have been replaced from the foundation to the roof, electric and plumbing. The building has been retrofitted and is in top condition with modern amenities. The restoration was acknowledged in 2003 by the Alameda Architectural Preservation Society with an award.
Nicky and Eddie purchased this Apartment in 2001
Why Nicky and Eddie chose Alameda
When we bought the house, it was in need of some TLC. It had four rental units. Many years and lots of money have converted the property to three units. Lots of pride of ownership. We consider ourselves fortunate to own such a gracious 119 year old building, and to have been able to update all the systems of the house while maintaining its unique historic appeal. The builder of the house was himself a builder and his family lived here in 1898.
What makes this Apartment unique
1898 Victorian, fully restored, large, spacious, high ceilings, filled with light and all amenities. Great location, steps from a beach and a great shopping center. When we bought this home we fell in love with the simple lines and admired the skill and craftsmanship of the people who built it as well as the wonderful community that is Alameda with all the benefits of a small town in a major metropolitan area. Wonderful weather year round, clean and safe city with a real sense of community. Typically, Alameda is 8-10 degrees warmer than SF with no fog or wind. A great location for folks working in the East Bay including UC Berkeley and Emeryville. Suitable for families on vacation and corporate rentals. Ideal for relocation while you find a permanent home.

Beautiful property, well stocked, convenient location.
Good location, great house and hosts!
Rented for work and was extremely pleased with the location and the house in general. Everything I needed was provided, great access to the internet and exceptionally clean. And a great area. The hosts were wonderful! Hope to be able to rent again next time I'm in town for business.
Eddie gave us a warm welcome to the home and surrounding area. Beautiful home, well maintained, stocked with everything you might need. Great location, close to restaurants and beach. Our only disappointment is that we did not have more time to relax and enjoy the home and neighborhood.

Immaculate Apartment in quiet Alameda easy access to San Francisco
Beautiful apartment, great hosts with easy access to San Francisco and lots of things to do on Alameda Island. Would recommend staying here if you have the chance.
Because of its unique location, the city of Alameda enjoys remarkable advantages as a place to live and visit. Situated on a flat island connected to a peninsula and stretching some 10 square miles on the east side of San Francisco Bay, Alameda is a small town in the middle of a major metropolitan area. With a climate rated as the most desirable in the continental USA by the National Weather Service (mean annual temperature: 71 degrees [14 degrees Celsius]), Alameda has temperate weather in all seasons. Add to that the world-renowned scenic beauty of the Bay Area and you have the perfect destination spot: an island beach town with easy access to the diverse cosmopolitan San Francisco and East Bay cultures. There is no through traffic in Alameda – it is a destination with only five roads entering the island – another of its unique characteristics. Transportation in the Bay Area is accessible and affordable: bus service; the Bay Area Rapid Transit System (BART) of monorail trains; ferries; a bicycle-friendly environment; and a superb freeway system crossing numerous bridges. The venues for entertainment and enjoyment have a tremendous array of choices: fine dining; beach outings; boating; world class music and concerts; plays; street fairs, museums; tourist destinations like the Embarcaderos on both sides of the bay; the wine country in the Napa Valley; major sporting events by professional teams; universities; and even skiing within a day’s drive. Alameda’s history makes it an interesting place to visit and explore. The transcontinental railroad ended in Alameda in 1869, and the estuary on the north side of the island was home to some of the finest ship-building companies in the world when wooden ships sailed the seas. With a population of about 75,000 inhabitants, the town seems friendly and accessible to all, enjoying a diverse community makeup. In fact, in 2010, Travel and Leisure magazine proclaimed Alameda one of the top ten American suburbs worth visiting, citing its well-kept beaches, spectacular views, and laid-back atmosphere. The architectural heritage of Alameda is the jewel in its crown. The city acted to preserve its treasure of vintage Victorian homes in the early 1970’s, passing a municipal law forbidding the destruction of the structures by developers seeking to build apartment complexes. The result of that legislation is a town with truly beautiful views down its tree-lined streets, welcoming strolls and bike rides to all. Visitors are charmed by Alameda. We’re sure you will be too.
