New Years Hangout
This place was great for our needs. It had everything we needed. Great location, secluded, not far from wineries. Ability to walk around the vineyards each day or night. Very casual check in procedure and payment.
There are a few misleading items about the place. Nothing that would change my rating but things I think people need to know.
The good:The king bedroom was great, comfortable with everything you need. Master bathroom nice size. And there are 3 bathrooms which made it nice. Great views all around. Ping pong table was a hit with our group. The weber BBQ was great to have, but bring wood or briquettes. There are some things that others have left behind such as seasonings, but I wouldnt depend on that. Ample parking and nice outdoor patio area. Small portable firepit available too.
The bad (but not too bad): The second bedroom is not double beds, they are single beds. So if you think you are going to put 2 people per double bed you are mistaken. There are two other single beds in the closet that can be rolled out. Thats how this place has an occupancy of 6 people.
It was cold while we were there. Although there were space heaters available it was cold from time to time, no forced air heating.
States that there is satellite/cable, not true. You have a very small TV that plays DVD's so bring a few if you want to watch TV. Not a deal breaker for us. Same with the stereo. I wouldnt call it a stereo but it does play music. Again we brought our own so not an issue.
The refrigerator door swings the wrong way which would not normally be a big deal. But the kitchen is very small so it was somewhat of a nuisance. Other than that I can say we will be back. And now that we know what to expect we can pack a little differently depending on the season.
Great wine tasting, dining and small town atmosphere. Great family fun including beaches, hiking as well as total privacy if needed.
