3rd generation owner of our family's Catalina Island house. Great granddad, granddad and my father all grew up in Avalon. I was fortunate to spend my childhood summers here as well.
We love this little gem and we hope you do too.
sutton purchased this house in 1908
Very close to downtown Avalon! Deck has comfy lounge chairs and great views of the ocean mainland.
perfect for a couple or two, or a couple + 2 kids. Only 1 toilet however. The property manager was onsite when we were there and she was great. She and her beautiful cat Taz add to the charm. Great location. Furnishings and decoration seem ca. 1970s but immaculate inside. A cozy furnished front porch perfect for having a glass of wine at sunset or reading early on a Sunday morning. We would stay here again.
Absolutely loved staying here. It's very small and quaint, but comfortable. The spacious balcony adds additional living space and provides a fantastic view! Will definitely book here again!
My daughter wasn't happy because there was no WIFI, and it was very warm. Sutton was great helping us get an additional fan! The house was in great condition for being over 100 years old. Would recommend updating the mattresses in the near future and maybe a document about where things are and how they work in the home would be helpful.
Could walk to everything. Perfect for us
Sutton was very accommodating with the check in and check out times
A nicely equipped, quiet, private place with loads of character and an amazing deck with a view. It may be a hundred-plus years old, but everything works and every room is comfortable. I especially liked the pink-tiled kitchen, the dark-wood living room that opens onto the deck, the dining room (feels like a ship cabin), and the nautical lanterns. Bonus points for good, hot water, blazing Internet, and a big collection of DVDs and board games. It's worth a little walk uphill to get away to this homey house with a view.
Had everything I wanted. Beautiful Decour!
