Charming, romantic, convenient
We loved our short (1 week) stay in Cherrueix. 1 adult, 2 children.
1 --- It's very pretty --- People passing by all turn and look at the property with the central balcony and flowers.
2 --- Well located for eating out --- There are three restaurants close by which we sampled. The one by the beach (name escapes me) in particular was excellent, especially as my 5 yo son could shoot off and play in the large, public sandy play area right in front
3 --- Well located for the beach --- It's about a 2 minute walk to the beach! The location finder on the HomeAway website has the property about twice as far from the beach as it actually is.
4 --- Well located for the nearby attractions --- Although it's not actually near any of the attractions (Mont St Michel, St Malo etc), it's centrally located to all of them and they're all a short drive away.
1 --- No Wifi --- OK. So this could have gone in the "Pros" section but my daughter definitely thinks this is a negative. Additionally we didn't get a 3G signal. Personally - it was a benefit...
2 --- The kitchen is basic --- I had to ask how the oven worked, and there's no dishwasher.
3 --- No shades on the Velux --- Two of the upstairs rooms have Velux windows but don't have shades on them so when it's light out, it's light in.
In conclusion: I loved it, my kids loved it, I'm gutted I had to book somewhere else for our second week because it was fantastic.
Thank you for taking time to review your holiday and your comments! I Will look into Wifi and blinds for the velux Windows 👍😊
Lovely cottage right next to the beach!
If you want to experience Brittany at it's best you will find everything you're looking for here in this cottage. The house is a lovely stonebuilt building and we really enjoyed sitting at the fireplace every evening. A neighbour made sure we alway had enough wood and checked on us every few days. He even offered us to lend us some bicycles. If we would've been here in summer, we definitely would have taken advantage of that offer. There are al lot of brochures in the house to get to know Brittany and the places to visit around Cherrueix. We heartly suggest visiting Mont St. Michel which you can even see from the shore. We also visited Cancale, Saint-Malo, Dinand and Cap Fréhel / Fort La Latte. The Cherrueix beach itself is just around the corner, you can walk there within one minute. It's a nice place for taking a long walk with the dog.
Overall it was a very good holiday place and we would love to come back!
The communication with Nigel was very good and we would loke to say a big 'Thank You' for a unique holiday experience!
So happy you enjoyed your stay Stefanie and thank you for taking the time to post your very kind and informative review, Regards, Nigel
Merci....
I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and the surrounding villages and wonderful sights. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review!
Je suis tellement heureux que vous avez apprécié votre séjour au chalet et les villages environnants et des sites merveilleux . Merci beaucoup d'avoir pris le temps de laisser votre avis !
Lovely cottage, great location near to beach.
The cottage was clear and tidy, as per description, very close to the beach and the quiet village has a small general shop, butchers, bakers and fishmongers. There is a bar tabac virtually opposite which also does food, it's not noisy at all so is very handy without being a problem. There's also another restaurant on the seafront in the village, while we were staying the other visitors to the village were predominantly French. The sea is a long way out, but beach great for other activities, lots of kiteskaters there. Worth visiting nearby Cancal for the oysters. The cottage has a decent BBQ out the front and a spiral staircase to the first floor. Recommended.
Leuk huis aan zee ,nog geen minuut lopen van zee
Waar voor je geld
This delightful seaside cottage is on the bay of le Mont Saint-Michel and only 50 m from the beach, set in the centre of this charming village with three bars/restaurants, boulangerie/pâtisserie, mini market and Butchers.
Only 7 km away is the historic town of Dol de Britagne with its shops, bars, restaurants and bustling Saturday street market.
Leaving Cherrueix along the coastal Road there are bars and restaurants leading to Cancale which is famous for its oysters, and its many restaurants.
St Malo is 22 km away with its Historic wall city and its shops, bars and restaurants, attractive sweeping cobbled streets and lovely sandy beaches, also close by are the medieval towns of Combourg and Dinan and not forgetting the beautiful le Mont Saint-Michel, it's always worth a visit.
