About Lisa Maffia
Our family purchased our waterfront vacation home back in the late 1970's. Born & raised in the Silicon Valley, we wanted a 2nd home to spend weekends & special holidays away with the family. We never get tired of spending time on the lake!
Lisa Maffia purchased this House in 1977
Why Lisa Maffia chose Lucerne
We had spent several years vacationing in Clearlake and wanted a home of our own to enjoy. Lucerne was a nice central location with many neighborhood amenities. We fell in love with the extra large back yard, since we spend most of our time outside when we are there.
What makes this House unique
We look forward to breathtaking sunsets from our dock or back yard when we visit. Take a boat ride or drive to Ceago winery and local restaurants. We love being on the lake, soaking in the sun and enjoying water sports. Spend the afternoon fishing from our dock, or grab a lounge chair and enjoy the extra large back yard. Watch the kids play in on our fully gated property while relaxing on the hammock.

Yard was very accommodating for children..Our 2 grandkids thoroughly enjoyed the yard.
My grandson caught his first fish...House had a good layout and was spacious and relaxing
Unfortunately the couches were heavily soiled( have photos)..paddle boat broke when we tried to use it. Lots of dead bugs on window sills and backyard window dirty with drips of stuff and smudges.
Over all our visit was enjoyable and we appreciate you sharing your family home with us.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Our cleaners usually do a fantastic job of cleaning and I am surprised to hear that the couches were not clean. We have them professionally cleaned as well twice per year, or more often if needed. You mentioned that some pictures were posted, but unfortunately I didn't see any on this post. Would you mind posting or sending to me personally as well?
The back yard window actually has a UV film on it to keep the furniture in back from fading. The "drips" that you see are markings within the film. I notice them every time we clean, and unfortunately they don't come off, but are a part of the film that may have discolored in some areas.
Thank you for letting us know that the paddle boat broke during your stay as well. We have already ordered a new part and it should be repaired soon as it arrives. We have temporarily provided two Kayaks in the mean time for guests to use until our paddle boat is repaired.
The bugs are mentioned in the paperwork which is given prior to your stay. The bugs are "gnats" and are natural to Clear Lake and part of the food chain for the fish in the lake. The county won't spray or treat them for this reason. They come and go at different parts of the year, and unfortunately there isn't any way around them since the county does spray for them. When doors or windows are left open in the evening without a screen, they come in. You will see them the next morning dead on areas such as window sils. The best advice I give to our guests is to make sure to shut doors behind you when when going in & out of the house.
I was hoping that some of the extra accommodations you had requested (and we provided per your request) would help your stay be above and beyond, such as the early check-in, late check-out, and additional cleaning for allergies. I didn't see this noted in your review, but also wanted to make you aware that those are things that we normally don't provide, but we did for you to help your stay be perfect.
Went on a leisure family get together and this home catered to all our needs. Property manager was very helpful.

Fantastic comfortable home
My husband and I rent homes around the Clear Lake area several times a year with our family...this one is definitely our favorite. We spent the last 4 days there, enjoying the feeling of "home".
There is plenty of parking off the highway for a truck and boat/trailer as well as other cars. The house is very nicely set up with lots of sitting area in the family room as well as the dining areas (with a beautiful view) and the bedding seemed to be comfortable for all of us. They had everything! Other than food we really didn't have to bring much, which is not always a common thing. They had laundry, dish and hand soap. The bathrooms all had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Spices, T.P. and paper towels were even available. We always bring that stuff or go and buy it. Bonus for us was that they had a boat dock that lowered for easy access on and off the lake. Very near to a nice public boat ramp (1/2 mile maybe?). HUGE fenced back yard with a side play area for kids and lots of patio space and sitting area. The pier/dock had a cute decent sized sitting area set up with lights. If it wasn't for the pouring rain during our stay we certainly would have spent most of our time out there but at least we were able to get in some beautiful sunset photos from the dock. We will definitely be returning to this gem with our family.
Lovely home with lake access
The house and property were as described. The house was well stocked and comfortable.
Beautiful home and location
This home is beautiful and the views are amazing. My family had an amazing Christmas getaway. Lots of room and big backyard. Very thoughtfully owners provided lots of local information and made the whole trip easier. Perfect family vacation spot.
Enjoy boating, skiing, wake-boarding, tubing, swimming and lake recreation as well as wine tasting at the various local wineries and casinoing at local casinos
