Old manor house

Bedrooms 2
Space 753 sq. ft.
Property type chateau / country house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Apartment renovated and equipped that maintains original features

The house, built in the mid nineteenth century, particularly for the area and it is different from the typical farmhouses Reggio.

Typical house, the dwelling of the lord facing west and with an Italian garden still exists has the stable and barn in the main building and the homes of farmworkers on the east side.

The particular shape of the building has favored a conservative restructuring, non-invasive. The external appearance of the building has remained unchanged as well as all access doors. Inside the restaurant has been completely renovated with high quality finishes and planimetric modern, to ensure maximum use of space and the best comfort.

Lovely appartment on a vineyard

  • 5 of 5

Previously when visiting friends in Modena we've stayed in the centre, but with young children in our group this appartment approx. 20 mins drive away was perfect. It had everything we needed and a wonderful view. Dario was very helpful and friendly. Our sons loved the very friendly cats, and we also saw several deer in the evenings.

Nice old manor house

  • 3 of 5

Apartment had plenty of space and a lovely terrace, just a pity that it is incredibly hot. There is no shade on the terrace, or at most of the windows. We purchased a fan from a nearby supermarket but it didn't relieve us from the heat that built up in the apartment. So we ended up leaving a few days earlier than scheduled.

Rustic charm in a working vineyard

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay in this authentic Italian apartment with wonderful balcony and view of the vineyard. Maria and Dario were wonderful hosts and we really enjoyed the wine made at they property. Great location for exploring the Modena and Marinello area as well as visiting the Ferrari factory and museum.

Lovely Rental by the Winery Owner

  • 5 of 5

Parking was right next to the apartment. The owner turned out to be a winemaker, and because we had 6 guys, (wine importers from Shanghai), and they were nice enough to prepare 6 beds for us. Maria gave us two bottles of their wine, which was surprisingly good. We were particularly impressed by their Lambrusco, which in our experience, was supposed to be sweet and generic, but his Lambrusco was dry and vibrant. Another red wine made with an indigenous grape, Ancellotta, was also impressive. We had a nice big balcony overlooking the vast vineyard, and we were able to move the big table out there and had our meals and watch the moon-rise over the vineyard towards the end of our dinners.

Overall a great stay.

Clean apartment, nice owners

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the apartment for 5 days. We used this place as a base for trips to Bologna, Parma and Modena.

The farm is an organic vineyard between Reggio Emilia and Modena (20 minutes drive). The owners are very friendly and will give you tips for your journey.

The apartment we stayed in was very clean with a small kitchen in the big living room and a double bed on the second floor. There is a nice bathroom as well. There is a tv and wifi. It is possible to get an extra bed or a baby cot. You are welcome to use the garden, where there is a barbecue, table and chairs and a lounge chair.

There is a town (Rubiera) east of the farm where there are supermarkets, banks etc. and if you drive a bit further east towards Modena there is a shopping mall.

We can recomend visiting Modena, Parma, Fontanellato and Bologna. We also went to a small water park called Piscine Molinazzo. It has four pools, a small playground and a cafe and it is great if you are traveling with small children and need to cool down in the heat. It is located between Santa Maria del Piano and Bassa south of Parma.
