No pictures, videos or words can do justice to describe this property. It is designed to take your breath away,
Architectural style of the house is a west-coast contemporary , finished in July 2013, with a gourmet kitchen, polished concrete heated floors, floor to ceiling windows, large south facing deck overlooking the ocean.
The main living area is an open-concept design with stunning views of the ocean. The kitchen has Caesar stone counter tops, a six burner Viking range with griddle and two ovens, a Viking fridge, Jura ENA 4 coffee machine, Asko dishwasher, and a gas barbecue (just outside the kitchen on the smaller of the two decks).
The indoor dining table is made of rustic wood and it is complimented with modern looking Eames chairs, comfortably seating eight people. The living room has a vaulted, sloping ceiling, gas fireplace and custom designed furniture.
The west side of the dining room has an accordion style “window wall” that opens up to the deck. The south facing deck has a teak dining table that also seats eight. The deck is protected from prevailing SW winds.
Huge rocks shelter the house from the sea. The beach is pebble-strewn and awash with driftwood. There are two shallow-entry pools of water near the house. They are great access points to the water for people and boats. As the tide comes in the shallow waters are warmer than expected.
Off of the side entrance is a separate mudroom. The mudroom has an extra-capacity washer and dryer.
The master suite is located in a separate wing of the main floor. Its polished concrete floors, views and king sized bed give the room a feel of elegance and breeziness. The master bath has a large walk-in glassed shower with a rain shower-head and smooth stone tiles underfoot. There is a separate modern stand-alone bathtub (with views out through the bedroom and to the ocean if you choose to leave the bathroom door open!)
The second floor has three bedrooms, a bathroom and desk area. Each room has a queen sized bed as well as a closet for you to store your belongings during your stay. Two of the rooms are south facing with views of the ocean and one is north facing with a vaulted ceiling and with views of the trees. The bathroom has two sinks, a toilet and another nice shower.
In terms of technology and gadgets, you will be fully connected. There is a Wi-fi Internet, VOIP phone for free phone calls within North America, and wireless all-in one printer. There are two 50 inch flat screen TVs, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. The house is connected with cable and 'whole-house PVR'. There are built in speakers in each room (not every room has a receiver yet). The living room has a Bluetooth and Airplay connected receiver. You can control speakers for living-room, dining room and deck from a speaker switcher.
The house is heated with hot water in-floor radiant heat on the main floor, and hot water baseboards in the second floor. Each room’s heat is controlled via simple to use Nest Thermostats.
The main house and the guest suite rent for $1,000 per night, minimum 7 nights.
We do not rent for just the weekends, no exceptions.

We are a family of five with three teen agers. I run a technology company and my wife teaches part-time and looks after the family rest of the time. We live in Vancouver and have just built this house mostly for summer use.

Because it WILL take your breath away.
This is our dream home that we share with a few families.
Very few such high end properties are rentable for short stays. We have built the house in a way to give us some comfort with renting our home. For instance, each room has two closets, one of which is lockable and the other closet is left left empty for guests. Our pantry locks. We have done many house exchanges over the years so we have experience sharing our personal space with people we have never met.
Having found this rental on the Internet it looked a little too good to be true. Having stayed at the property I would recommend it to anyone who wished to stay on the Sunshine Coast. We loved the modern property with ample space and modern conveniences inside. The location is excellent with regards to the beach, local shops and close enough to town by car. The property was clean and allowed my group all the space that we needed. It was amazing to wake up every morning and stare at the ocean.
The contact that I had with the owner was quick, efficient and allowed our stay to run smoothly. The best thing I can say is that if we were to come back to the Sunshine Coast, this would be one of the first places that we would look up again.
A simply stunning property, fitted out to the highest standards. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. It is well positioned for biking, hiking, canoeing and sailing. The sheltered stoney cove below the house is great for early morning dips and late night swims. The one minor appliance issue that arose was dealt with by the (delightful) owner (a pleasure to deal with) within 15 minutes, and an immediate solution given. If we can, we will be back.
This gem by the sea is worth it whether it is raining or sunny. The view is remarkable and cooking in the kitchen overlooking the waves crashing in was phenomenal. The sound of the surf echoes through the immaculate home and it almost feels like one is outside. The beds are so cozy and we did not want to leave our weekend hideaway.
We stayed at this lovely home right on the water near Sechelt, BC. The view was incredible and the space was fantastic. There were 7 of us celebrating a 40th birthday and the space was just perfect for visiting and cooking and enjoying the beautiful scenery. It was very stormy while we were there and the living room was fantastic for watching the waves crash upon the rocks. The owners were extremely helpful and available to us, which was great. The information package we received was very detailed and told us everything we needed to know. I would definitely go back again. I would highly recommend this home. Thanks to the owners for sharing this special place.
We stayed at this beautiful home in August 2013 . The pictures do not lie. It is a very lovely modern large glass and stone home, built with fantastic taste, taking advantage of incredible location and magnificent views. The home comes equipped with every amenity - no need to go without your espresso. The master bathroom is particularly fantastic. The owners were lovely to deal with and our security deposit was returned the day after our departure. They even allowed us to bring our (non shedding) dog.
The beach in front of the home is wonderful and easily accessed. We kayaked in the area which was perfect.
While our solitude was interrupted by the occasional local visiting the beach, and the odd sighting of the woman staying in the attached suite, our few days there were incredibly peaceful and we were reluctant to leave the home except to walk on the beach or take the kayaks out for a ride. We look forward to our next visit!
Biggest attraction specifically for this house, given that you are practically sitting on the ocean, protected by large boulders, is watching the ocean. If you have boat you can fish or put a trap down for crabs. Right behind the house you have access to trails for hiking and biking.
