Ice fishing extravaganza

  • 5 of 5

Went up for a weekend ice fishing trip and had a great time. Was in awe of the cabin from the time we got there until we left. Everything was there waiting for us and Gene was an awesome host. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Great food, great company, and memories that will last forever. Cant wait until we go back up! Looking forward to some summer/fall fishing!

Deer Camp 2015

  • 5 of 5

This was the second year I reserved this for Deer Camp. Just like last year, couldn't be any happier. 8 of us stayed the week. The owner was very helpful in showing us plot maps and pointing out State land for hunting. The house was clean and the Owner made sure the heat was on and the house up to temperature for our arrival. We only got one deer this year but had a great time. We are planning to book another week in Jan or Feb for ice fishing.

Friends reunion

  • 5 of 5

Had a fantastic time. 9 close friends who had not seen each other in about 10 years decided upon this place for a get together during a weekend. Beautiful place to stay. Very well stocked with just about any supplies that you would need. We grilled on the gas grill both evenings. Firewood was cut and supplied for use in the fire ring. We took several trips around the small lake using the pontoon boat also. Gas was supplied by owner. Everyone (all adults 50 +) was very pleased with the cleanliness. Plenty of room. Owner was very accommodating, and eager to please. Could not ask for a more hospitable host. All of us plan to definitely reserve this place in the future. Only negative was that fishing was sparse during this weekend, but plenty of other activities to do instead. Highly recommend this place for families and friends.

Labor Day Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very spacious and had all the items needed for grilling and cooking. It was very nice to have the pontoon boat to enjoy. We had a couple toddlers and we had to watch them carefully as the cottage is close to the water but it was nice to sit out on the deck and enjoy the quiet waterfront. The fishing was ok but the weather when we stayed was not great fishing weather. We did get some fish though using good worms. We would recommend it especially if you wanted the added enjoyment of a pontoon boat, canoes and a kayak. We also enjoyed the yard games included as well as a fire pit for outdoor enjoyment.

Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a week and went fishing most days. We used the pontoon boat a lot for swimming and fishing as well as just boating around the lake. Plenty of room for the 8 of us to enjoy family time together. Facilities were great. Just wish there was a beach area in front of the cottage.

Family/Friend Weekend Away

  • 5 of 5

We take a long weekend trip every year with friends, and our children. The "children" now range in age from 16 to 28. This year, we had 13 people, and had more than enough room at the house, no one felt crowded at all. The house was very clean, well stocked with lines, towels, etc, and the kitchen's open layout is perfect. The 2 full bathrooms are also very large. We used the pontoon boat everyday, people fished not only out in the lake, but off of the boat while at the house. There were games in the shed for the whole family to enjoy as well, which was very nice. There is a local grocery store very near by, and downtown Cadillac was only a 15 to 20 minute drive. Kenwood and Mitchell State park in Cadillac are great spots to spend a few hours as well. We will for sure be booking again next summer!!
