About Olafur Olafsson
I am a biologist working in business. My wife and I love Snæfellsnes and were hypnotized by the beauty of the area of Arnarstapi.
Olafur Olafsson purchased this House in 2017
Why Olafur Olafsson chose Arnarstapi
Our family loves the quiet surroundings of our cottage and we try to spend as much time their ourselves as possible. But we also feel that we have to give visitors to Iceland the great possibility to experience our cottage.

Home away from home
This was an excellent place to stay. Our kids loved all the toys, games, and trampoline. The location was excellent fir us.
Fantastic stay on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula
We loved staying here. After a long flight, we stopped at Costco and then started our drive to Arnarstapi. One more stop at the Bonus grocery store in Borgarnes for the items that we couldn't get at Costco and we were set for our stay. The cottage is immaculate. So clean, has a brand new feel. Kitchen is stocked with seasoning, olive oil and all the pots, pans and supplies you need. The beds are great, very spacious place. The location is perfect for exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. We loved walking from the cottage to the coast and did the hike to Hellnar as well. Had ice cream at the little cafe and overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
The home was perfect! The area is peaceful and sweet. Well except for the Arctic Terns nesting along the road - they are fierce for sure.
Well appointed, cozy, peaceful
An amazing home in a quiet corner of Arnarstapi. It was spacious, clean and modern. Well stocked kitchen supplies for cozy dinners at home with a view of the mountains and the sea. The upstairs area also has a window with a gorgeous view the the mountains. Watch out for the nearby arctic terns as they can peck your head, but we are nature lovers so we absolutely loved being close to an incredible diversity of birds. The location can’t be beat with quick access to hiking opportunities and the national park. Thank you for sharing your home - we would love to go back in the future!
Great place, excellent location
The house has everything you need. Very comfortable and enough space for the four of us to relax. Also, the location is wonderful. The major sights are all within a very short drive and the furthest only 45 minutes.
Snæfellsnes peninsula was voted amongst Europe's best winter getaways , the villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar were also voted one of "25 secret European villages you should visit in your lifetime".
The area around the villages are filled hidden treasures and we will be happy to assist and provide guests with tips on everything worth seeing around and within the national park.
