Should you ever feel the need to remind yourself that there's still a busy world outside of tranquil Corolla on the Outer Banks, there is both cable television and wireless internet.
If you love to cook, you'll enjoy preparing meals for the family in the cavernous kitchen that also overlooks the ocean. Both gas and charcoal grills supplement the kitchen with just about anything you could need to prepare and serve your culinary creations. There's plenty of space in the dining room to seat the family at two tables, an infant high chair and a toddler high chair. After dinner, two dishwashers make sure nobody gets stuck with washing the service for 22 by hand.
At night your family retires to eight tastefully decorated, inviting bedrooms with good quality mattresses and your choice of feather or poly pillows. Five of the bedrooms are master suites all with king size beds. The kids will love the two nautical themed bunk rooms. One of the king master suites has a private deck. Four bedrooms open out onto the main deck that wraps around the house and provides access to the pool and hot tub, or up to the roof deck for spectacular star gazing.
Ocean's Grace is pet friendly! Pets are allowed in the cottage, though we do have to ask that your furry friends stay out of the pool and hot tub.
Outside, the cottage has a private salt water swimming pool and jacuzzi, the pool can be heated upon request. Surrounding the pool you'll find plenty of lounge chairs to lay back in and enjoy that relaxing OBX experience you came for. The back yard has a volleyball net, corn hole and horse shoes to entertain those interested in a friendly game and there is a basket ball hoop off the front drive for any desiring a game of hoops. If you'd like to explore the area a bit, there are several bikes available for your pleasure. The Currituck Lighthouse and historic Whalehead Hunt Club are less than 2 miles away.

Hi, welcome. I have lived in California since 1973 but my heart has never left the Outer Banks. My Dad was in the Coast Guard so we traveled around a bit. I was one of the lucky kids that got to live in New Orleans and attend Mardi gras, New York and visit the Statue of Liberty and ride the Staten Island Ferry, Maryland, Connecticut and Virginia but my favorite place was always Dad's childhood home on Roanoke Island.
Joy Leeper purchased this house in 2000
When I cross the Wright Memorial Bridge a peacefulness settles over me that makes my heart happy and my soul sing.
Daddy was born and raised on Roanoke Island and many a childhood summer was spent at Grandma's in Wanchese and on the beaches of Nags Head. A lifetime dream of having a cottage on the Banks was finally realized with the purchase of Grace in 2000.
I have had so much fun furnishing Grace and hope you will find her warm and welcoming, with all the amenities you deserve to make your vacation a comfortable and memorable one. Whether you are sitting in the swing or lounging in the hammock you'll be listening to the ocean and enjoying the breezes. Perhaps you prefer being curled up in a comfy chair with a book, Grace has many for you to choose from.
Morning brings a chorus of birds and the night sky is absolutely spectacular the stars are so plentiful.
Please feel free to call or email me with any questions about Grace or the surrounding area, I would love to talk with you.
We enjoyed a fabulous family retreat from June 18-25th. Really clean on arrival our family moved in right away with 21 people and never noticed any crowding. Age ranges were from 78 down to 10 years of age with activities for all interests. The location is perfect! Just a minute walk to the beach where you can enjoy access to some of the best sandy real estate in the USA. The home is situated where early risers can take advantage of sunrise and sunsets are beautiful off the back decks.
The pool area was just the right size, ample pool furniture, toys etc. and a nice hot-tub too. Well equipped, there are bicycles, games, a large BBQ and outside pool showers to make your stay quite convenient. Inside, the kitchen is superb with everything you will need to prepare simple or elegant meals for your gathering. Well thought out design makes this home comfortable with easy access to many area activities.
The property owners were wonderfully hospitable throughout our stay. Great location, wonderful vacation!
My family and my sisters family spent the week of June 25 through July 2 at Ocean Grace. Ages varied from 83 to 2. there were 4 teenagers and 2 young adults. Everyone in every age group was totally happy with the house and the facilities. When Joy states in her description that the house is fully equipped, she means it. The kitchen was so well equipped that we could have cooked for another 19 people. Everything you need for the beach and the pool are there in the outdoor beach supply closet. The 10 bikes kept many of the adults and the teenagers entertained with many bike rides to the Lighthouse or to Wings to shop. The house was super clean when we arrived and the cleaning crew still there gave us a tour and explained everything to us. Our family has stayed at other houses on the Outer Banks and elsewhere, but this by far was the best ever. When I say close to perfection, that is exactly what Ocean Grace is. We are starting to talk about another trip here in 2 years. Who knows, by then we may have more than 19 people in the family.
What a beautiful home. It was so nice to stay a place that not only sleeps a large group but is set up and supplied for a large group. We had a wonderful time, rarely leaving for anything but groceries. Lots to do, great location, and comfortable home to enjoy. Great job Joy!
Our first family vacation with 17 of us! This house was perfect! Joy the owner was amazing and answered all of my crazy questions! She has such personal touches throughout the whole house! Very clean, kitchen STOCKED with whatever you would need! Short walk to the beach, beautiful sunrise and we loved watching the sunset from all of the 3 amazing decks that go around the house! Lot's of room for everyone. Pool was great and she has lot's of beach chairs/umbrellas/boogie boards for all! Back yard was so much fun on a cloudy day with volleyball, and corn hole. Could not have asked for a better house! Thanks Joy for everything and your beautiful Grace! Looking forward to heading back in 2 years!
We have been coming to OBX, every other year, for 10 years. This is the first time we have found a place that met everyone's wants and desires. Large kitchen, table large enough to fit 16 or more people, large enough living room to fit 21 people and still not feel crowded, oh and the 3 little ones running around between us! Pool and landing was roomy, loved the salt water pool, could not keep the teens out! Everyone loved that fact that we had such a very short distance to the beach itself. Bedrooms were roomy, bathrooms were plenty. Kitchen was so fully equipped, loved it! The house was clean and smelled wonderful. Wonderful views. Our family have all agreed that we would like to try to come back to Oceans Grace in 2017. See You Then!!
Our extended family spent a fantastic Fourth of July week at Ocean`s Grace. Ocean`s Grace has everything you need and THE CLEANING SERVICE DOES A FANTASTIC JOB!! The house was spotless . We had quite a few little ones ages 5 through 12 so the bunks in two of the rooms came in handy. The kids loved "bunking" with each other. WiFI ,TV`s and Blu Ray in every room helped to get them to sleep while watching what they wanted on TV at night. Having all the accessories like beach chairs and boogie boards is very handy. Much less you have to pack to bring with you on your trip. Some of our family took a drive on the beach to see the wild horses which is a very short drive away from Ocean`s Grace. They got some great pictures. Finally, Joy is just great. She kept in touch with us before during and after our trip to make sure everything was perfect for us. We cannot wait for our next vacation at Ocean`s Grace!!
