Wonderful stay for a week over Thanksgiving! Six adults...very comfortable for all. Pool area is perfect and beautiful beach a short walk away. Property manager, Uta, was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Definitely will recommend to friends and hope to be back!
The Kuu home is absolutely magnificent! When booking, my biggest concern was the distance to the beach, and we were pleasantly surprised that it was even closer than expected! This is our second time staying in Kailua in the past 3 years and it is just wonderful. Everything you need is close and Kailua beach is among the best beaches of the world. The Kuu house exceeded our expectations, and Uta was wonderful to work with. We had absolutely no issues with the home. Thank you again Uta, for helping to make our family vacation so memorable.
What a wonderful family vacation we had at Kuu Home!
So, so inviting...relaxing...beautiful!
We vacationed in this spacious, tranquil home for a week and a half with our grown children...
and couldn't have enjoyed a home more!
-Very short walk to amazing Kailua beach
-Luxurious pool in the backyard that we practically lived in
-Lush private patio/back yard that we spent many a evening enjoying
grilling and eating out on
-The glass wall that opens the house up for lovely breezes and a stunning view
is really quite breathtaking
-And Uta, who was a absolute pleasure to work with, cheerfully and knowledgeably
answering every question for us along the way
Oh how I wish we were back!
This is such a gem of a home, tucked in a quiet beachside neighborhood...
you won't regret booking a stay here!
Paradise, simply paradise.
We recently spent 2 weeks at this lovey house in Kailua. It is around the corner from the beach - about a 5 minute walk. The house is well furnished and appointed. The rooms are large and there are a number of seating areas so that multiple conversations can go ion at the same time. For those of us who like to "cook at home" even on vacation the kitchen is particularly well stocked with modern appliances and equipment. The agent was easy to work with from the start and the owner came by to see if we needed anything. All in all it was a great stay and we would certainly consider renting this house again.
I honestly cannot say enough about this property. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the home. The photos on here are great but being there in person, they do not do it justice.
The home is huge, we didn't need the additional bedroom off the front of the home and given there is access to the master through the back I had to laugh when I discovered there was a hall bathroom that I didn't even realize was there until our 2nd day! ;) Our kids loved playing in the backyard, watching the lizards and playing tag on the squishy grass.
We had the "fortune" of coming to Oahu during the hottest humid summer weather they have had in a long time. Even our local family was saying it was too hot for them during the few days the trade winds were still. However, that wasn't an issue for us because of several reasons: the pool, which was perfect for us and our two small children, even though the weather kept the pool warm it was beyond refreshing to go out the slider and jump right in, the A/C in the main master bedroom made nap-time super easy for our toddler and when it was too humid to be in the main house, we would use the attached apartment just though the living room. My kids dubbed this "the cold room" and it couldn't have been better.
The beach, amazing by the way, is a short walk just down a few houses and up the street. The path leads to a part of the beach that was never crowded the entire length of our stay.
Uta was such a pleasure to work with. So kind, and very accommodating. We didn't have any issues while there that required us to work with her more than saying we'd arrived and thank you for the gift basket of local treats but I know had we have had to reach out she would have been on any issue in a heartbeat.
Finding our way through the local streets to the main shopping of Kailua was so easy. Anything you could think of is within 5 minutes of the home, Target, Safeway, Whole Foods, Macys (which has some awesome island-inspired attire you won't find at a Macys on the mainland!), local restaurants and shops, bowling, you name it!
It was also easy to get to and from all parts of the island and back to this location. We went to the leeward side of the island several times during our visit and never grew tired of the beautiful scenery through the mountain back to Kailua.
If we ever get the opportunity to return to Kailua in the future Kuu Home Uluwehi will be first on our list.
First time back to Hawaii in 40 years after living in Kailua for 4. Wow - just a little busier, but what a great town to stay in for its own qualities as well as being close enough to reasonably travel to Oahu's many attractions. This vacation home is both in the middle of it all and a secluded sanctuary. An easy walk to town and only a couple of minutes to the beach and Kalapawai Market for needed coffee, takeout, and supplies (not to mention being directly in front of world-renowned Kailua Beach Park). We did spend a lot of time in and by the gorgeous, heated pool, surrounded by landscaping lush enough to make it very private. When inside, the expansive view of the pool and back yard is just fabulous. There's room for lots of people, boogie boards for everyone, and a really nice gas grill which we put to good use. The manager and owner were super nice, very helpful, and totally knowledgeable about all things Kailua and Hawaii. For our next trip back to Hawaii, we won't have to shop around, having already found home.
Located in a very quiet & upscale beachside Kailua neighborhood, less than a 5 minute stroll to beautiful Kailua Beach, just a few minutes walk to famous Kalapawai Market and local landmark Buzz's restaurant, nearby to shopping and dining in Kailua town, fabulous location!
