Great location and peaceful.

  • 4 of 5

The accomdations had everything needed and more, even small beach chairs an take to nearby sharks tooth beach. It was a secluded environment with a small airport on one side and a privacy fence on the other. We were there in December 2015. If you like to get outside there are bile trails galore, lots of hiking, and even a trapeze practice area down the street. We had agree at time and are planning to return.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

The condominium, which appeared to be a former apartment, was modest but very functional. With the exception of the TV, everything in the condo worked well. The king size bed was very comfortable. The condo was clean and the owners were very nice. Perhaps the best feature of the condo was its location. It was about 0.40 miles from the beach and about 1 1/2 miles from downtown Venice. The condo was about 2 miles from Casperson beach, which is well-known for its shells and shark teeth.

The television in the living room was old and had a poor picture. The TV was an old tube type TV that did not have the correct aspect for today's broadcasts. I hope the owners replace the old TV with a 40-46 inch flat screen TV.

Owner's Response: Very good point, the TV is being replaced with a flat screen between our February & March renters! Thank you for the review :)

Great Fun

  • 5 of 5

We spent the month of May in this great location. The condo was very comfortable and contained everything needed for a home away from home. Plenty to do for all interests, including a great place to walk. The airport across the way was entertaining for those quiet times. The hosts provided good info for places to eat and other attractions in the area.

Awesome Condo and Awesome Owner

  • 5 of 5

Spent 3 weeks in this bright and roomy condo. Everything that could be there was there for us to use...great well equiped kitchen. We found lots of things to do in the area, including hunting for sharks teeth, enjoying Selby Botanical Gardens, Myakka State park, and great weather and great golf.

What to do during your stay in Venice?

The shark tooth capital of the world, Venice, Florida, is known for its spectacular shoreline. Stroll down Venice Avenue with its pink, Italian Renaissance buildings, Mediterranean-style shops and 'umbrella-topped' Canary Island date palms.

1. THE VENETIAN WATERWAY TRAIL & THE LEGACY TRAIL: Venice is fortunate in that we have TWO incredible paved walkways for walkers, bicyclists, rollerbladers, and all other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy! The Venetian Waterway Trail runs along both sides of the Intracoastal Waterway providing a calming view of boats and dolphins making their way through the channel. The Legacy Trail, recently opened, is a rails-to-trails project that links Venice directly to Sarasota via a paved lane through several different ecological habitats.

You've seen one beach, you've seen them all? Oh no, not here in Venice! Each of our public beaches features its own distinct personality! Check out Casperson Beach at the far end of Harbor Drive for excellent sharkstooth hunting and enjoy the pavilions and playground that are located on the edge of Red Lake. Brohard Beach is our local Paw Park where you can bring your four-legged friends for a romp in the surf! Venice Beach is located directly at the end of Venice Ave. W. Don't miss trying a locally famous 'Jetty Dog' at Venice's South Jetty while watching the surfers (if the waves are good). North Jetty Park also has a walkable jetty suitable for fishing or just watching a sunset. The newly renovated pavilion at Nokomis Beach, along with its access to the Intracoastal is also a favorite of locals!

The Venice Fishing Pier is located at Brohard Park on the south end of the island of Venice, and is owned by the City of Venice. The 700-foot Pier is a great location for fishing and to end the day watching a beautiful sunset. Connected to Sharky's on the Pier, the only beachfront restaurant in the Venice area, the Pier offers Papa's Bait Shop, with live & frozen bait, coffee, treats, jackets, shirts, and more. Nearby are six picnic shelters, two sand volleyball courts, and public restrooms with showers. Open at all times. There is no fee to access the Pier and avid and amateur fisherman of all ages can fish from the Pier without a fishing license.

Crossing one of Venice's bridges to the historic downtown area, known as 'The Island of Venice', instantly transports you Downtown Veniceto a place of unparalleled charm where palm tree lined avenues host an endless array of exciting things to do and see. You’re sure to find a shop or boutique to satisfy your style out of the 100+ unique shops, salons, and other businesses along the Island Avenues of Venice. If dining is your idea of excitement, your palate will be especially pleased. With many sidewalk cafes and several picturesque waterfront restaurants, Venice offers a total dining experience that is truly second to none.
