Property was comfortable for a smal family. The only issue that I had was that the garage was very small for our truck and we had difficulties getting things in and out of the car. So I tried to contact the owners several times to see about switching the garage space. They never replied. Poor customer service on their part, I called and left a voicemail on the number they listed, no replies and one number, the person who answered said the number was wrong? I dialed as the number was provided. I proceeded to text and I never got a response. I also messaged them and never got a response. Thankfully they have a nice janitorial staff who was able to direct us and help us to The best of their knowledge. But if you have an emergency or important question don't rely on getting a reply from anyone, they do not tend to the forms of communications they listed.
Very nice property owners did everything they could to help us with our stay from early check -in to extra beds for our guest. was a really nice place to stay would do it again.
Great location in a cute neighborhood. Truly allowed us to feel like we were part of San Diego by getting to visit the local spots around and down the street. Our bungalow was adorable, comfy, and clean.Felt like being at home but still on vacation. We enjoyed how quite it was and having a place to park our vehicle. We would definitely return and recommend to others visiting the area! Great customer service from beginning until we arrived.
We had a very delightful two night stay. The bungalow was beautiful. We ordered a delicious pizza from the local shop nearby and enjoyed it in the beautiful and relaxing patio area. Helpful binder describing nearby attractions. We spent Sunday at the zoo which was only a short drive away. The kitchen was handy and well stocked with cooking supplies. Refreshing up-to-date decor. Glad to have the garage.
Considering the area-having the garage was great. Just a precaution-an SUV or minivan would probably not fit. We have an Avalon and it just made it. When we thought we forgot an item after we left, it was very easy contacting the owners. We had our two preschoolers with us. It was a tight fit. Probably a better unit for a couple or a couple with one child. The unit was clean and the garden areas very lovely.
Positives of this unit: Comfortable, Air Conditioned (needed this particular weekend) private parking in garage, kitchen is well stocked (nice s/s pans), clean, nice stove and refrigerator. Bed is comfortable, bathroom very nice. Nice neighborhood with a GREAT coffee shop within a short walk down the street; Krakatoa Coffee. A very nice grocery/butcher/vegetable market equally close.
Unit can be a little noisy from the other people staying there, and from planes landing at SAN. (I like planes, so this was not an issue for me :-) They seem to stop landing around 10:00PM. Private garage is large enough for a VW Eurovan, so any car will fit. Garage door opens to courtyard of the building, and your car enters from the alley behind the building. Historic building, owned by Wyatt Earp.
We would have no hesitations about staying here again anytime we have activities in San Diego that require staying overnight.
This is near Balboa Park & Zoo, just 3 min away by car. It is 6 min away from Gaslamp District with great restaurants/bars. Also 8 min from Convention Center. Bus line is on same street which gets to Gaslamp & Downtown Shopping Mall in 15 min. Close to major freeways which get you to Beaches in 20 min.
