We have just returned from a weeks skiing holiday - we have 3 children aged 4,6 and 8.
The chalet was very well situated for the ski school meeting point which was crucial for us with 3 young children as well as being near to the town. We only needed to use the bus when coming back from La Daille.
Located on the 4th and 5th floors (with a lift) it was very spacious - more so than the pictures show. There are 3 bedrooms and bathrooms and the children loved the split level. The stairs are spiral and fairly steep so possibly not suitable for a toddler.
The kitchen was very well equipped with microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The best bit was the open fire and the constant supply of wood to burn.
The dining table could easily sit 10 and opens onto a balcony where the sun streamed in first thing in the morning.
The chalet was cleaned every day which was wonderful and made such a difference.
There is a ski locker that was big enough for all our skis and a snow board.
We hired a car from Chambery and it was a very easy drive to get to the resort, we didn't actually need our car when in the resort.
We would definitely go back again.
We spent a week in early February 2011 in this apartment. The first impressions were that the photos on the website didn't really portray the roomy atmosphere and lovely character of this property.
We were a group of four and the general feeling among us was that the living area would easily cope with a group of 6 or more (should you have friends visiting in the evenings). The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge furniture very comfortable. The roof windows provided a view of the mountains from the dining room table and we enjoyed the spacious feel to the open plan kitchen/lounge/dining/TV Area. We ended up spending the majority of the evenings in the apartment in front of the fire instead of going out.
Despite the cold weather, the apartment was warm and well insulated, so much so that we had the windows open some of the time.
We made use of the downstairs locker which was a decent size for two snowboards and 2 sets of skis.
The location was very convenient and within a few minutes walk from the main lifts and shops. It was that well situated we hardly used the nearby bus service and also ended up coming back most afternoons for lunch and a snooze instead of trying to find a table at the restaurants or cafes.
We would definitely consider staying at this apartment again and highly recommend this for a group of 4 to 6.
Located just up from the tourist office roundabout, very central but away from the main road. This is a great location with uninterrupted views up the valley. It is close to all amenities and is just meters from the slopes.
Val d'Isere is 3 hours from both Geneva and Lyon airports and is easily to reach from Grenoble and Chambery. Bourg St Maurice train station is a 30min drive. With the Espace Killy ski area of Val d'Isere and Tignes right on your door step, so you don't need to travel once in resort.
Other Activities: Snow boarding and winter sports
