My favorite travel destinations are Colombia and Ecuador & the Galapagos but I also love France and Iceland! My style of traveling is to get to know what the locals do. My style of hosting is to share all my fabulous tips and experiences with my guests.I am very proud of my ability to connect with people and nature. I am a great hostess because I love life to the fullest
Mary D’Eon purchased this House in 2017
Why Mary D’Eon chose Exuma
Coconut Hill House is situated on the beach and very close to the airport and just ten minutes drive to Georgetown, a very convenient location for everything. We have a lot of coconut trees on the property. The coconut trees provide coconuts throughout the year which can be harvested by the locals , providing fresh coconut water. There are also a nearby Coconut Grove along the beach towards the airport
What makes this House unique
It is best to rent a car to explore the Island. When we first came to the Island we were intrigued by the beautiful and empty white beaches with the most beautiful clear blue water we have ever seen. You can experience all the nature beauties while you are here from full moon to rain bows. Our goal was to make Coconut hull house into a beach house we dreamt of. We hope you will love it as much as we do.

Exuma was rustic, unspoiled, and magical. There are no cruise ships porting here. There is not a single franchise restaurant. If Starbucks, high end shopping and all inclusive resorts are your thing, this probably wouldn’t be the place for you. If you like a gorgeous secluded beach (prettiest one on the island), a house with azure water views from every window, and your own infinity pool and coconut grove then you will love this place. Comfortable, clean, bright and spacious - Coconut Hill is all of that. The caretaker, Monica is helpful and responsive and even brought us a gorgeous fruit basket after we experienced a maintenance issue at the house. Cleo and Debra, the cleaning staff cooked us a wonderful Bahamian dinner one evening and we had leftovers all week. The house is well stocked, and even has two kayaks and a bunch of snorkeling gear. Be sure to to visit the sea turtles at Hooper’s Bay Beach (look for them between the two piers); chill at Stocking Island and see the stingrays, and while there take the path to see the Atlantic it’s so worth it! Take the Exuma water sports tour to snorkel, and see the pigs, and the iguanas. And definitely drive to Littke Exuma to visit Mom’s Bakery and lunch at Santana’s (the cracked conch is amazing). Then spend the day at the beautifuL Tropic of Cancer Beach. FYI: Grocery shopping can be challenging. Things like milk and bread are in short supply because the stores have to wait until the boats come in (just 2X/week). The Exuma Market in Georgetown had the biggest selection, but Smitty’s is closer to the house and nice as well. Go to the Farmers’ Market in Georgetown on Friday and Saturday. They have lots of fresh greens, eggs, plantains, raw honey, and assorted jams, and Jerk and hot sauces. We tasted a wonderful tamarind drink. It’s a perfect place to buy locally made products to take home. And don’t miss the straw market! Everywhere we went the people were kind and welcoming. The land and sea in Exuma is just shockingly beautiful. I’m grateful our family was able to share this experience with my Mom who was celebrating her 80th birthday. If you’re looking to truly getaway, and experience nature, wildlife, and people at their best, I’d highly recommend the Exumas. There are 365 cays to explore-one for every day of the year, as the locals say. Thank you to Mary, Mark, Monica, Debra, Glen and Cleo for making our stay at Coconut Hill so memorable! (P.S. great WiFi in the house too!)
Beautiful home with a spectacular view from all angles.
Overall great fun and cool house.
Thank you for staying with us Christine we hooe that you had time to enjoy all the great amenities including the beach, kayaks and the pool. We hope to see you again. Mary and Mark.
We had a great stay at Coconut Hill House
Having the house centrally located on the island, and close to the airport, was very convenient.
Everything was just as expected and very private.. even though we had neighbors staying Tar Bay.
The views and water color was spectacular!
Though the ocean wasn't as calm as I'd hoped for, there are plenty of places, within a short drive, that were just what I was looking for... like Hoopers Bay.
The information Mary provides about places to go, things to see, and where to eat, is 2nd to none. I was well informed prior to arriving on the island.
Having Monica meet us at the airport and make sure we got to the house and in safely was a huge help..
Be sure to rent a boat from Minns too.... 3 days exploring by boat was awesome! And take a tour with Exuma Watersports to see the pigs and iguanas.
You'll love your stay at Coconut Hill! We did!
Another great stay, still the same yet better with the addition of the pool. The new windows make such a difference in the view...beautiful. Kitchen is well stocked as is the linen closet. Washer and dryer get those towels washed in a jiffy and I love the outdoor shower. You can tell the owner (Mary) loves this home, it is in the details and it is managed well by Monica. You truly can relax here in this beautiful home on a beautiful stretch of beach. Thanks again Mary.
We had a wonderful stay in Exuma! The house and pool were wonderful and the beach was completely our own. We never saw another person on it the whole week we were there. The kids (ages 12, 11 and 4) loved body surfing and jumping over the waves. The colors of the water are like none we've ever seen before and we even nicknamed the color of the ocean Exuma Blue.
The house is set up to have everything you need for your stay. Coffee pot, blender, towels for the shower and the pool, extra bedding and blankets, snorkel gear, beach toys, fishing poles, pool rafts, board games, about 100 DVD's to choose from and about 5 times that many books! Seriously - all you need to bring is clothes.
For us - this is everything we look for in a vacation - beautiful surroundings, seclusion and major relaxation with just the right amount of convenience.
A few of our favorite spots on the island were Jolly Hall Beach (because it has a couple of picnic tables and is protected from the wind) and Hooper's Bay (because the kids got to see the Sea Turtles and it is also protected from the wind). Take your own chairs to Hooper's Bay. We also rented a boat from Minn's Water Sports and had a fabulous day searching for sand dollars!
Thank you to Mary, Mark and Monica for helping us have an amazing stay!
The Exumas are an archipelago of 365 Islands (also called Cays) - one for every day of the year, located just south of Nassau. The Islands stretch more than 100 miles from Beacon Cay near Nassau in the north to Hog Cay in the South. There are 700 Islands in the commonwealth of the Bahamas so the Exumas are more than half of them. The 3 main islands are : Great Exuma, Little Exuma which is connected by a bridge, and Stocking Island, accessible by boat or water taxi only.
