A Memorable Stay - A Delightful Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed in this 'Charming' cottage for a week in July. I must say, in all earnest, it was one of the best family holidays we have ever spent. Everything about this house is 'delightful': it appears to have been fully refurbished to the highest standard by the owners. It was spotlessly clean. Bedrooms were very comfortable, cosy with very comfortable beds. Very well furnished throughout. Good powerful showers in the bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a couple of spacious living/sitting rooms in the house and a good sized dining room. Being a party of four adults and four children we really appreciated the spaciousness of this house as it meant that the younger ones had their own space to watch TV or play games in the evenings. The gardens and the patio area were simply stunning - children had great fun running around in the huge open grassed area. Most evenings we had a barbecue and sat outside until late soaking in that beautiful summer country air. The location was just great - less than a 5 minute drive to Perranporth Beach, Truro and Newquay were about a 10-15 minute drive away ... a perfect location really. There was a very cosy little pub 5 minutes walk from the house which was child friendly. In all, There's nothing negative to say except we actually wished we could have stayed longer. For our family it was a truly brilliant holiday and one I think we will remember with fondness for years to come. And yes we are for sure planning to return to it again next year. I would highly recommend this cottage to family and friends. Thank you and regards, Mrs. P. Wilson

If walls could talk this 17th Century Grade 11 listed thatched cottage could tell a tale or two we're sure. Nestled in the beautiful and peaceful little country hamlet of Penhallow and yet only 7 miles from bustling market town of Truro with all amenities, shops, restaurants and theatre sits Lambourne Cottage. Exuding charm she is a beautiful and welcoming cottage with one and half acres of endless gardens for children to run carefree in on a summers day or for you to park yourself under a cooling plum or oak tree with a good book or paper with perhaps a good coffee or even a pitcher of iced local pear cider...a particular delight of the nearest Cyder farm less than half a mile away. Lambourne is virtually unchanged and retains a host of the original period features, flagstone flooring and even a 400 year old water well in the garden ...who knows throw a coin in on your holiday make a wish and who knows what could transpire. Inglenook fires in both the kitchen and also the 'snug', a delightfully cosy and relaxing room overlooking the kitchen garden ideal for reading or listening to music. There is a comfortable separate TV room ideal for children or adults to watch a movie or perhaps play board games. Lambourne cottage offers accommodation for 6 with 2 delightfully decorated double rooms and a twin room also finished to the highest standard for your comfort. You can enjoy breakfast in the dining room with easy access to the kitchen and gardens.

Lambourne is equally perfect as a summer retreat or cosy winter break and would make the perfect setting for a Christmas holiday. If walking or surfing is your thing opportunities abound with spectacular cliff top walks or more mellow meanderings along the headlands. Pack a sumptuous picnic and head out for the day. Perranporth beach but minutes away and is one of the foremost surfing beaches in Europe nevermind Cornwall. The beautiful village of St Agnes is also but a stones throw away in the other direction.
