Quality stylish 2 bedroom self-contained apartment with garden and rural views.
About Jill Keyte
My husband and I own and live on our 140 acre farm in Exeter in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. We are passionate about this beautiful part of the world. We graze and breed Dexter (naturally small) cattle and Suffolk sheep. We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and giving them hospitality. Our work is project-based these days which enables us to be able to host guests in a self-contained apartment in our home. We have many favourite countries, especially Japan; are in two book clubs; like all types of food and are regular patrons of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Art Gallery of NSW and the Museum of Contemporary Art. When we travel we like boutique hotels so that we can feel and experience more of the local culture. We like to host our guests in a similar way.
Jill Keyte purchased this Farmhouse in 2016
Why Jill Keyte chose Exeter
We had 20 acres in Exeter for 8 years while living in Sydney. My husband, Ray, loved the rural life, being a farmer and breeding cows so much that he wanted to live in Exeter full-time. So in 2016 we sold our weekender, purchased our current property and moved from the 'big smoke' to Exeter. We have made so many friends here and really enjoy how relaxed life is. Our property gives you a break from the fast pace of the city and the opportunity to enjoy rural life with all the comforts of the city. It is secluded and noise free. All you can hear are the animals from time-to-time and birdsong at dawn and dusk. And yet there are attractions and quality restaurants just 15 minutes drive away. You can either seclude yourself for your stay or enjoy the seclusion then venture out to be a tourist.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The entrance drive into the property is lined with aged and young eucalypts which make the drive or along the road a very beautiful and welcoming one. This is what I fell in love with. Rolling hills surround the farmhouse so you constantly have a beautiful rural vista, often dotted with animals, as well as garden views. Each paddock has a beautiful dam. The deciduous garden is vibrant with autumn colour and softly elegant in spring with glorious blossom. All the rooms in the house are large, making it very comfortable. We have furnished the farm stay with relaxing colours, beautiful furniture and pieces of art we have collected or been given over the years.
