Why Andrew & Natalie chose Akumal
Having been to Akumal several times, we were determined to have a place of our own in Half Moon Bay. The people are friendly, the restaurants are exceptional and this on the beach! Forget a towel, sunscreen, your favorite book or cocktail, no problem. Its a quick trip to your unit and no stairs to climb. With easy access to the beach, you can snorkel, kayak, take a stroll or watch the hermit crabs come in at night. The sunsets are incredible from this point.

Amazing location and great amenities!
The property was exactly as we expected based off the listing. The location in half moon bay is awesome, perfect spot to swim, snorkel, or kayak. Kayaks and snorkel gear are one of the amenities, which is a plus! The decor in the condo is so cute! Someone came to clean every day, but only if you wanted, which was very nice. Hector came by almost every day to check on us, he also helped us rent a golf cart and get a taxi back to the airport. Overall, this place is great! I would definitely recommend and come back again!
Quiet and lovely location
Loved the quietness of the location. Everything was great. All the help was also appreciated (Anna) and (Hector).
Kids loved the iguanas, tide pools, pools and running along the beach.
Though windy when there it’s ok as it was warm and partly sunny so just right.
We loved la buena vida for easy dinners. Loved their colorful decor. The mini market close by was helpful for item fill ins.
The near by lagoon was a hit. There are fins, water shoes, life vests and snorkel/masks so we didn’t need to rent.
Neighbors were all lovely.
Enjoyed the sunsets, sunrise and looking at the stars each day.
We also loved going into la Pueblo to the local kids park, buying fresh produce and exploring the city.
Quiet, convenient, great snorkeling. We'll go back.
All you need in the sun
We loved this condo. The beds are comfortable and we found everything we needed. It is awesome to be connected to the staff who oversee and care for both La Sirena and La Iguana at the end of road of Half Moon Bay. Hector is super helpful and available to support you with questions, renting bikes, ordering a taxi, and arranging car rental (don't forget to tip him generously!) and Anna comes almost everyday if you'd like to help keep the place tidy, fresh towels, and garbage/recycling (you'll be happy to this lovely person!). It's easy to spend everyday out front lounging, reading and swim/snorkeling. We were there 12 days and only a couple of them were calm enough for ideal snorkeling, so take advantage when the wind dies down (you can go out when a bit wavey, just not as ideal). We saw a ton of fish, sting ray, octopus right in the bay!! Riding bikes to Akumal town and pueblo is great and you can do your own bike tour of the amazing graffiti art. Bike to Lol-Ha to spend some time on Akumal bay. You can grab a guide there to snorkel out to see turtles easily, we just never did. Great things to do by car or taxi as well. Cenotes EVERYWHERE--just fo to some. We did a locals type, small cenote bike tour through airbnb-best day, in Chemuyil-super cute town just south of Akumal. Easy to get down the beaches at Tulum. We did short boat tour (just 3 of us), got close to Tulum ruins and then out the to reef to snorkel with turtles and more sting ray. Tulum beach whole different vibe the easy, small town quiet of Half Moon Bay. Yal-Ku was a great day as well, go early to try to avoid the big tours! It's a short 5 min walk from condo. Kitchen well stocked. Treat yourself to a fresh pair of light water shoes from amazon and a new anti-fog mask and you'll be happy, although they do have some old snorkel stuff and random water shoes in condo if you forget. Being on the ground floor was the bomb!
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and it sounds like you had a packed and fun-filled trip! We hardly ever leave because its paradise just sitting out back! Hope to see you again!
La Iguana is our new favorite place to stay to Stay in Akumal. This is our 5th year and enjoy the l
The condo is well equipped for cooking which we really appreciate. There are also snorkeling gear and a kayak. The maids are excellent and the apt spacious. The manager Hector is on top of it, very helpful. The beds are comfortable, the pillows great. Will return.
