Enjoyed the week
Ended up staying at the adjacent cottage - owner and location is awesome!
Unfortunately we did not end up staying in this actual cottage as it developed septic issues(can commonly happen in cottages not on services), however the experience was still great! Fred acknowledged the issue as soon as we brought it to his attention, and then accommodated us by moving us to his adjacent property next door while he had the issue fixed. We still used the dock and the firepit, the great lawn etc. and were more than satisfied. The location is beautiful, the swimming is great, the ferry is quick, easy and just added to the experience.
Also - FIREFLIES! We haven't seen this many fireflies in many many years - can't oversell the beauty of the location, thanks again Fred!
This property was incredible! It checked off all of our boxes, and even the boxes we didn't anticipate. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I would stay there again next time I'm in the area.
Cozy with a Beautiful View
If you want upscale pushy this is not for you. If you want a rustic cottage with a beautiful view this is it. Every morning woke up and had coffee on the deck looking at the water. Sunsets are beautiful here did some fishing on the dock did get the big one but kept us busy. Every night we had a fire by the water till it was time for bed. Fred was an excellent host just a phone call away if we needed anything but he had everything set up and ready for us. I would definitely recommend this place
This was a great little cottage!
My girlfriend and I stayed here at the end of June and it was perfect. The cottage was nice and clean and it had a beautiful secluded area on the river.
So much character in the cottage!
Awesome swimming, super comfy beds.
Great size lot, easy to find.
The island itself is beautiful and peaceful.
Located on the North Channel of the St. Lawrence River on Howe Island.
Easy to drive to, HWY 401 at Joyceville Road, 5 kilometers to Howe Island ferry - runs 24 hours.
The property is less that two kilometers from the ferry
