Cagliari Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa Ami sleeps a family of 5, Villa Dharma sleeps 6 + baby

I have the pleasure to offer for rent my two villas in Torre delle Stelle, in the gorgeous South East Sardinia. Both villas are 300 m away from the nearest white sandy beach, (the one you can see on the pictures). Each villa has its own private pool as well as private garden. They are both detached and presented in excellent conditions thoughout. Please note that you can do without a car as the shops and nearest restaurants are at short walking distance.

In the nearby beach you can hire water toys and take swimming lessons, you can scuba dive or snorkel or hire a small boat for exploring the gorgeous nearby coast. For the sake of clarity, please note that the first 11 pictures are of Villa Ami and its pool, then you have two pictures of the nearby beach, and 11 pictures of Villa Dharma. I will now give you a short description of my villas and more details will be found on the dedicated page each villa has.

Villa Dharma is the villa that my husband and I purchased 10 years ago to use it as our own holiday villa. We have very many happy memories here with our children, our family and our friends. We have now moved back to the UK and we can only use the villa a couple of weeks a year so we thought 'why not let other families enjoy this little jewel?'. Since villa Dharma used to be our main residence 3 months a year when we were still living in Sardinia, it has been totally renovated and a pool has been added to it. When we had the pool built it was to entertain our children while I was working on my computer on the covered veranda overlooking the pool. Please note that the water in the pool is salted which means healthier... Villa Dharma can comfortably accommodate 6 people as it has two double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The master bedroom also has an ensuite shower room. All the bedroom are on the first floor and two of them have French doors to a panoramic terrace. The third bedroom can be accessed both from the inside and from the outside as it has it own independent entrance. On the ground floor we have a delightful dining living room with fireplace, a kitchenette and a third shower room. Both the living area and the kitchenette have direct access to the covered veranda with built in barbecue that during the summer becomes our open air dining living area as it is very spacious, light and shady. The veranda overlooks the pool and the mature garden. We also have an outside shower as well as off street parking.

Villa Ami has been built by my husband 4 years ago. It shares the entrance gate with Villa Dharma but they both have their own swimming pool with salted water and their own garden. They are therefore completely independent from each other. Villa Ami is also on two floors, it is very private and like villa Dharma very well furnished. The ground floor is a a spacious open space with dining area, living area and cooking area, we also have a guest cloakroom with washing machine. Two French doors lead directly to the outside paved area and overlooks the pool so that your children can play in it while you do your own things such as reading with a glass of good wine in your hands. On the first floor we have 3 bedrooms (one double with en suite shower room, one twin and a single bedroom). All the bedrooms have their own balcony overlooking the pool and the surrounding greenery... There is also a family shower room.

In the garden there is an outside shower and a built in barbecue. Villa Ami comfortably accommodates 5 people, a couple with 3 children.

Please let me know if you have any more question and I would be more than happy to answer them!

Torre delle Stelle is the perfect place for exploring the gorgeous South East Sardinia, but also for a relaxing holiday...

About Angela

My name is Angela and I am married with Karim. We have lived in the UK, where both our two children (14 and 17) were born, for a long time and we just loved it. 9 years ago we decided to move back to Sardinia as we were missing the sun and my family too much as I am originally from South Sardinia. 17 years ago, before our children were born, Karim and I went on a tour in Torre delle Stelle and simply fell in love with the uniqueness of this enchanting environmentally protected area. Shortly afterwards we purchased our first villa in the village which we started to let straight away as our use of it was limited to only 3 weeks a year. Given the success we had with the rentals, we decided to invest more in Torre delle Stelle and purchased villa Dharma, a few years later Karim built Villa Ami. I have to be honest my contribution was minimum, he has done a great job all by himself.

Angela purchased this villa in 2010

Why Angela chose Cagliari

As mentioned in the 'About you' section, I did not buy Villa Ami, my husband built it according to the latest building and safety regulations. The villa was in fact built 4 years ago and everything, electricity, water and etc is fully certified. The property is therefore practically brand new and has been built bearing in mind what a family would normally want when renting a villa on which to spend a holiday: walking distance to gorgeous beach, walking distance to bars, cafes and restaurants, walking distance to play area and last but not least a pool with salt water (no chemicals!) on which the children can play while the parents read, sunbathe, or enjoy a glass of good wine either from the terrace or from the living area without losing sight of their children. Villa Ami is all this and you can definitely do without a car.

Torre delle Stelle is perfect for families with young children, the villa is child friendly and the beach which is literally at 300 m (walkable) away is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect setting for making friends. Most owners are professionals from Cagliari that spend their summers and their weekends in their villas so there is a sense of community that adds to the loveliness of the area. Pretty much everything food-wise is available to buy in Torre delle Stelle again at short walking distance, around 100 m. In Cagliari there are two amazing markets where you can buy all sorts of seasonal fruit and vegetables, fresh fish, meat, home made bread and cakes and etc. It is a real feast of colours and lovely aromas, as well as a good chance to meet the locals going about their daily routine. Cagliari herself deserves a day, the beautiful old part called 'Castello' (Castle) is set in the most elevated part of the town and offers staggering views of the entire Gulf of Cagliari. The 10 km long local beach also deserves a visit as well as the nearby lagoon which is home to hundreds of pink flamingos, that live in it all y

What makes this villa unique

Real walkable distance to a sandy beach: 300 m.

100 m away from shops, restaurants and cafe.

Villa Ami was recently built with private swimming pool with salted water and total privacy.

Villa Dharma was recently renovated and has its own swimming pool with salted water.

No need for a car.

Safe environment.

Air conditioning.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hello Angela, we had a fabulous time at villa Ami. The four of us had had a very hectic few months before our holiday in Sardinia, and the villa was the perfect place for complete relaxation and peace. I don't think we've ever been so lazy! I loved the privacy, and the only decisions we had to make were whether to stroll to the beach or not, and whether to eat out or cook in. We had no regrets about not hiring a car, just ploughed through our holiday reading in peace.

All in all, a really special place.

Many thanks

Abolutely Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing holiday with our 7 & 5 year old sons. The Villa was clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location. The swimming pool and outside area was very private which created a relaxed environment. We were made to feel very welcome. The local store was always stocked with fresh local food which made our visit a cultural experience as well as a relaxing one. The restaurant had an amazing family atmosphere as well as serving fantastic food. The beach was only a 5 minute walk away and lived up to expectations and beyond. The sand and sea were really pure and the waterports facilities were excellent too. Villa Ami provides the ideal holiday if you are looking for a blend of complete relaxation and a cultural experience. So much so, we've already booked to return next year.

Fantastic villa in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant stay at Villa Ami- it was everything we were hoping for. The villa was exactly as described. It was clean, spacious and comfortable with a lovely pool. The location was perfect for us as it was close to a well stocked shop, good restaurants and a idyllic beach. As a family with teenagers we were worried that they would be bored but the boys enjoyed the laid back life of a villa. We did hire a car from mid week which was perfect as after a few days of relaxing we then discovered other areas of beautiful Sardinia. We had a fantastic time and were so impressed with the villa that we are hoping to book again for 2016. The owners Angela and Karim were extremely helpful especially as we flew to Sardinia and stayed in Cagliari a few days prior to staying at Villa Ami- Angela gave us guidance as to where to stay and what to do in Cagliari and then gave us lots of information relating to the area around Villa Ami. Overall we had a fantastic stay and look forward to our next visit to Sardinia.

Fantastic family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had the best family holiday ever here. Great villa and we loved the pool, we were a short walk from the most family friendly beach you could have asked for and even closer to a wonderful supermarket. We couldn't believe how good the range and quality of food was and lovely helpful staff. By the end of the holiday our children (3 and 6) were asking for bread in Italian with the encouragement of all the lovely local people. We would love to come here again with our extended family, it's just squeezing us all in that's the problem!!

Owner's Response: I am so pleased that the entire family enjoyed the holiday. Thanks for letting us and other potential guests know. As you know I love my villas in Torre delle Stelle and I love Torre delle Stelle to bits. My children grew up here and we all share very happy memories, so I am really pleased that all your family enjoyed their stay. We really hope to see you again soon and help your children become even more fluent in Italian. All the best, Angela

Villa Ami

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Ami in April. Although it was before the local tourist season was in full swing and not all amenities were open, we were prepared for this following advice from Angela and previous reviews. We had a hire car and were able to ensure that we always had supplies, even on the days when the local taverna and supermarket were closed.

The nearby beach was idyllic and we often got to enjoy it all to ourselves. The local restaurant was very good and the discovery of Barbara's a 10 minute drive away in nearby Solanas was a brilliant find!

We also loved visiting Villisimius and the wonderful gelatarias there too.

The villa itself was ideal for our family of four and although the pool was a little cool to say the least in April, it was still a favourite activity!

We found Angela and Karim and Francesco incredibly friendly and helpful and are already looking forward to retuning next year.

Owner's Response: Dear Nicola, Thank you so much for sharing your experience at Villa Ami. I am really delighted to hear that you and your family made the most of your holiday and enjoyed everything. You know how biased I am when it comes to Torre delle Stelle as I totally adore the place and my villas. Barbara is definitely my favorite restaurant in the area and I am looking forward to go back sometimes soon. One thing I did not tell you yet is that the pool is now filled with salted water, so no more chemicals are sued to treat the water. The feeling is totally different! Karim is studying feasible options for having the pool heated. Hopefully something will be worked out before next year though I doubt that there will be any need for the water to be heated in May! I will keep you updated on this anyway. The sun is now shining in all its glory and I cannot wait to be able to spend again a long weekend in Torre delle Stelle. I very much look forward to meeting you and your family again next year. Kindest regards from us all and very best wishes, Angela and Karim

Beautiful villa in great location

  • 5 of 5

Villa Ami is a very well equipped and comfortable holiday home in a great location. The lovely beach is very short walk away, with a well stocked supermarket and restaurant all close by. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable two weeks soaking up the sun, scenery and very laid back atmosphere. Although we did have a hire car and had day trips to a waterpark and Villasimius, it wasn't essential. The help and support we had from the owner, Angela was first class and Villa Ami comes highly recommended.

Beautiful but with drawbacks

  • 3 of 5

Positives: The Villa is lovely and exactly as pictured. The Coastline from Cagliari to Costa Rey ( the area that we explored) is stunning! The abundance of wild flowers at this time of year is spectacular!

Negatives: We found the bed in the master bedroom impossible to sleep on, the mattress was the hardest we've ever encountered. My husband spent nights 2 - 7 on the sofa and I was in the spare single! Villa listings states a car is not required. This may be the case in July and August when the shops and cafe's are open in Torre Delle Stelle but during our trip the shop was only open for the first 2 days, and nothing else was open. Had we not had a car we would have had no way of obtaining food. Torre delle Stelle must be an entirely different place in the summer but be warned in April, it was like staying in a ghost town. A very odd experience. We weren't looking for nightlife, just somewhere to buy food and drinks!

If you do visit this area, a must see is Punta Molintas just outside Villasimius. It is a lovely small beach surrounded by incredible rock formations. This is where we spent most days as exploring the rocks kept our sons busy. There were several shops cafes and bars in Villasimius but it is a 30 - 40 minute drive from the Villa. I'm glad we saw the beauty of this part of Sardinia but I wouldnt reccomend visiting at this time of year unless you are prepared to travel for food and appreciate complete solitude.

Owner's Response: Hello Elizabeth, I am really sorry that instead of replying to me when I sent you the email to see how your holiday went you preferred to go straight to the reviews link I sent to you. I am especially sorry that your reviews contains complaints you never made to me directly neither when you were in Torre, nor once you left. Had I been informed I would have definitely done my best to deal with them and make your stay more comfortable. You met Francesco a couple of times during your stay and did not say anything to him either. You also had my mobile number, I wished you called me as I deal immediately with situations that cause discomfort to my guests as holidays are really sacred to me. You never said anything about the matress, which by the way is a rather expensive one, and of the same make and quality of the single beds, being all orthopedic. I am therefore very surprised that you found the single bed more comfortable, and especially that your husband slept in the sofa as it is 70 cm long and 30 cm wide! He must have been really uncomfortable. Having said that, I respect other people's preferences so had I known that you found the matress too hard to sleep on I would have changed it immediately with another one I have in a nearby villa (the one by the entrance). Unfortunately i cannot solve problems unless I am informed of them. I have waited to reply to your review because I wanted more people to use the matress and asked for feedback through Francesco, no complains fortunately. As for the shops I am really sorry, I was not aware of it, the shops are usually open every single day of the week starting from Easter week and until the end of October, and that is why my villa is available only from Easter. The week before your arrival, Easter week, the shops were open every day, but then since Easter was very early this year and there was hardly anyone in Torre delle Stelle, the owners decided to close monday to thursday until the 19th. You have been very unlucky but believe me I would never have left you and your family stranded in Torre delle Stelle without a car, I would have rather lend you my car or done the shopping for you.... I just wish you had given me or Francesco a call and given me a chance to make your stay more comfortable. Kind regards Angela

Torre delle Stelle is situated on the South-East coast of Sardinia 35 km away from Cagliari, Sardinia's main town, and its airport. The village is environmentally protected and its beauty has been enchanting visitors since it was created 30 years ago to the point that it has now become one of the most sought after areas of South Sardinia. Torre delle Stelle has 2 easily accessible sandy beaches, Genn'e Mari and Cannesisa and a few sandy and rocky coves that can be reached by boat. There are shops, restaurants, bars and pizzeria at short walking distance. However, since Torre delle Stelle is only partly inhabited all year round the shops and restaurants are not open every day of the year. However the main food shop is opened (7 days a week) starting from mid May and up to the end of October. The restaurant is opened at weekends only until June. For the rest of the year the food shop and bar nearby are open from Friday to Sunday included. It is therefore possible to stock up with groceries and food, or else go to the supermarket on the way to Cagliari which is a 15 minutes drive away. Beach bars are open from June to September due to local regulations. The nearby beach is absolutely gorgeous and the sea is very safe for children. I have been holidaying here since my youngest child was 6 months old and my eldest 3 and I still believe that it would have been difficult to find a better location. My son enjoys fishing on the rock formation which is right at the end of the beach, and snorkelling and scuba diving are a real delight. There is also a scuba diving school in Torre delle Stelle which is ideal for anyone looking to learn to scuba dive but also for those of you that have already practiced this sport and would like to have an excursion organized for you. There is a war ship 1.5 miles away from the beach, and 56 m down the sea that can be visited by expert scuba divers. Thanks to its position Torre delle Stelle is the area of Sardinia that enjoys the longest summer to the point that it has its own micro climate. Other amenities in the village include: diving centre, tennis courts, football and basketball grounds, playground.
