This quaint cottage nestled at the top of a hill is surrounded by woods and has a new wrap around deck which provides a breathtaking view of the exquisite clear blue water of Crystal Lake. It is the perfect combination of privacy and relaxing serenity on top the hill and all the convenience of a 1/2 blocks walk to the public beach, park, tennis courts, restaurants and local shops. At the base of the driveway you are connected to the Betsie Valley Trail. This is a 22 mile bike/hike trail which runs between Frankfort and Thompsonville.
You are minutes away from two boat launches, a day dock, and boat rentals of all kinds. There are so many things to see and do in this area. Just to name a few . . . the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, M22- Michigan’s Scenic Highway, Point Betsie Lighthouse, Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa, Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course, Crystal Lake Golf Club, Winery tours, Interlochen Arts Academy, Little River Casino in Manistee, shopping in the Leland, Glen Arbor and Traverse City.
There are many other area lakes to fish in addition to the fishing in Crystal Lake, the ninth largest inland lake in Michigan and deep water fishing in Lake Michigan just 7 miles away. Enjoy the swimming and relaxing in the sun at the Crystal Lake Beach, Lake Michigan in Frankfort, or tubing to the Mouth of the Platte River in Empire.
We rent Sunday to Sunday.
Crystal Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Michigan. This area has no much to offer as a vacation location.
We fell in love with the location. It's so close to the beach and downtown, yet so private. You aren't right on top of the property next door. It's the best of both worlds.
Overall, we loved our stay at the hill top hideaway. We were traveling with another family with young children and the metal spiral staircase to the basement was not super convenient but we made it work. Loved the wraparound deck, patio and outside fire pit area. Our family spent many evenings huddled around the fire. Nice, short walk to the cute, little town of Beulah. Having no a/c only bothered us one of the days. We'd definitely stay here again!
This was an awesome place to stay! Wonderful vacation. The view is outstanding and the privacy is great as well! I would recommend this vacation home!
All things were as advertised. It has been a long time since we were in Michigan and we had a great time. Everything we needed was supplied in the cottage as the owners said it would be. House was clean. Good view of the lake and pleasant little town. We would recommend this to families who like the outdoors - hiking, fishing, boating and swimming - or to someone who just wanted to have their morning coffee on the deck and watch the sun rise.
This is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location; it was exactly as described, and as a result, we enjoyed our stay here immensely. The deck and porch were heavenly, with lovely views of Crystal Lake. The house was clean, sound, well-equipped, comfortable and well-maintained and we would stay here again -tomorrow! - given the chance. Great 'up North' feel to the main floor of the house - two cute cottage-y bedrooms off a very nice kitchen and dining room. The downstairs bedroom was big, comfy and perfect for a bit of privacy. This is not a 'fancy' house - but a warm, charming, comfortable place to relax and enjoy company. The rail trail in front of the house is a bonus - we walked 2 plus miles to the nature reserve several mornings. I would recommend this house for those looking for a peaceful, comfortable cottage in a beautiful location - and we really appreciated that it was clean, well-equipped and highly functional.
The house was exactly as advertised. It was perfect for our anniversary get away.
We recently stayed for one week at this lovely home in Beulah. The house has been recently remodeled and is very well equipped - the kitchen especially! We are a family of 3 (1 4yo) but this house could easily accommodate a larger group. This wouldn't be a proper review without mentioning the beautiful (and I believe brand) new wrap around deck! We spent breakfast and dinner easting outside with the stunning view of Crystal Lake. The house is up on a hill, and while there are neighbors, they are at lake level, so it feels very secluded. We walked to the town and the beach, and enjoyed the music in the park as well as the playground and sunsets. From this location we drove all over the area. Franklin was a short drive away and a very cute town. We drove to SBD several times (20 min), Leland (45 min), Traverse City and the Mission Penninsula (1hr) and Arcadia (30 min). This house provided a great and comfortable home base and we would definitely come back!
