The home is on 3/4 acre lot with a large coastal garden and pond. The architect designed two separate buildings (Main & MBR) with over 850sqft. of connecting decks on 3 levels.
The first level deck contains the Main building. It is an open floor plan includes living room with queen sleeper sofa, dining area, full bath with claw foot tub and a sleeping loft with two twin beds. It has large windows to bring the outside view of the coastal garden, river and ocean. Sit out on the first level deck to take in the Jenner estuary wildlife and watch our spectacular sunsets. It has exotic touches from Asia and Africa.
It is located in a quiet neighborhood close to the Jenner Headlands and away from the hustle and bustle of town. You can walk into town and rent kayaks or have a meal.
Take the stairs to the 2nd level deck to the Master Bedroom building. This unique building is designed to create a private space from the main house for those romantic evenings or write that novel or screenplay. It has a queen size bed, a large shower room for two, writing desk, sitting area, vanity and bath. It has its own deck to watch the sunrise or sunset.
On the 3rd lower deck you have a new Hot Springs hot tub, a outdoor eating area and weber grill. It too has views of the coastal garden, river and ocean.
Side garden is owner occupied with two artist studio. This is not part of the rented space. Guest will not have access to this area. This space has a separate entrance.
The main coastal garden has easy walking paths between the variety of garden spaces. We planted each area with seasonal flowers so there will be a flowers blooming through out the year. There are many places to sit and read. Our pond is a favorite spot for Pacific Tree Frogs to mate, lay eggs, become tadpoles and mature into frogs that live in the garden. Our mosquito fish keep the pond free from mosquito.
Up to a maximum of 6 overnight guests per Sonoma County. Please specify how many overnight guests in your request. You may not add any addition overnight guests without the owners permission. There is an additional charge for more than 4 guests. In the Main building there is sleeping for up to 4 people. A queen sleeper sofa in the living room and two twin beds in the sleeping loft. Please note: The twin beds cannot be moved together to create a full size bed. We have provided an additional memory foam mattress to add that extra comfort when sleeping on the sleeper sofa. In the Master bedroom building there is sleeping for up to two people. We have a queen size bed. Luxury high thread count sheets provided. Down comforters, wool blankets and pillows.
Baths: Main building includes a full bath with claw foot tub. Master Bedroom building has a vanity, bath, master shower room.
Entertainment & Communications: Free US long distance phone service. No cell reception at home. There is cell reception in town. Satellite WiFi Internet. Internet is provided for checking email and web surfing. Sorry no Internet downloads or streaming. Satellite provider limits bandwidth each month. Dish satellite television programs. Large selection of dvd's with blue ray players in main house and master bedroom. I pod player with docking station in master bedroom. Receiver with ipod hook up in main house.
Cooking: Fully equipped kitchen and outdoor Weber gas grill. Extensive cook book library to challenge or delight the chef in all of us. Kitchen Appliances: Thermodor Gas Range Stove with large oven, Subzero refrigerator/ freezer drawers, Bosch dishwasher, microwave, french press and electric drip coffee maker. Fully stocked kitchen with small appliances for baking, food prep and raw food preparation. High quality knifes, pots and pans.
Rental Info: Perfect for 2 to 4 adults. Can accommodate a max. of 6 people. Extra charge for more then 4 people.
Age Limit: The home was built by an architect for an adult couple so it is not child friendly. Multiple level decks and separate sleeping buildings requires us to have a minimum age requirement of 10 yrs. old. To rent the home you must be 21 years of age.

Sonoma County has a maximum overnight occupancy for vacation rentals shall be up to a maximum of two (2) persons per sleeping room or guestroom, plus two (2) additional persons per property. Maximum overnight guest for The Blue Lotus is 6 persons.
On-site parking space at The Blue Lotus is three small cars or two large suv's. There is no on street parking on Rock Point Drive.
Sonoma County requires renters pay a 9% Transient Occupancy Tax for this rental. Other properties managed through a company can be as high as 11%
The owners are world travelers who appreciate diverse cultures, architecture, art and fine food. Interest are photography, antiques, farm-to-table dining, paddle along the coast, just sitting down and enjoy the sounds of nature.
We purchased this beautiful home in 2012 and because of its uniqueness and spectacular views we knew want to share it with others. The home is decorated with local art and photos taken by the owner Francesca. Her work has been on exhibit in galleries and art centers in Sonoma, Los Angeles and Sacramento. Both owners love to garden and are transforming the coastal garden with more intimates spaces for you to enjoy. We love to cook and have an extensive library of cook books that will inspire our guest to try a new recipe. We are big supporters of local farmers, cheese makers, vintners, artisans and non-profits. We love to share our favorite spots with our guests.

This home evokes an emotion and is something to be experienced. The architect Carson Bowler designed the home to take in the views of the river, ocean, headlands, garden and night sky. The home itself is an art piece.
Nature in all of its glory unfolds before you. The coastal garden is on 3/4 acre property. Landscaped to invite birds, butterflies, honey bees to come smell the 4 seasons of blooms. Watch the harbor seals come up the river to play and fish. Thousands of shore birds visit the Jenner estuary through out the year. A pair of Bald Eagles come by for a visit during the fall, winter and spring. From our deck you can see the migrating Grey whales.
The home is decorated with new modern contemporary furnishings. Through out the home you will see unique touches such as an Asian carved door that is over 100 years old.
For that romantic evening alone there is a separate Master Bedroom Suite which provides privacy from the main house.
Spending time in the garden, reading a book or cooking up a feast you will find plenty of reason to stay in this home.
This home is in town close to all of the adventures Sonoma County has to offer.
The air along the coast is clean and energizing. Give your lungs the break they deserve.
Find a place in our coastal garden to meditate, write a book, take a nap, draw or paint or do nothing. A lot of our friends and family enjoy just being at home in our house.
The view of the Russian river and Pacific ocean is mesmerizing. We watch as people just drift off. There is something magical about when two power bodies of water come together. Watching the ebb and flow of the tides is like a natural sedative.
Stargaze with our large open views of the dark night skies. Bring your telescope and be marveled.
The Blue Lotus is a 'Home' that the owners want to share this magical space with you. This is not an investment vacation property.
Francesca and I used to work together and I can honestly say she was a joy to work, extremely honest, ethical and artistic. When I found out that she had bought a place in Jenner, my family and I were thrilled and booked a trip as soon as they were ready to rent the house out. I had seen pictures of the house and it looked beautiful but when we got to the house, we were amazed on how majestic and scenic the setting of the house was. The house slept 6 people comfortably and it was well equipped with all the comforts of home. My family had a great time fishing, crabbing, kayaking and playing board game (great family bonding time). Also the vineyards were close enough for my husband to go wine tasting for the day. I highly recommend a stay at The Blue Lotus, you won't be disappointed!
Great place, a real lived-in home with every comfort. The location is mind-boggling and the two building format works great for a couple or -- a small group of 5, as we were. The kitchen is ridiculously well-appointed, the owners live there and obviously cook. Everything is clean and very high quality -- sheets were a million threads per whatever. The hot tub is brand new and divine. This is a real home -- not just a rental, which is a big plus in terms of how well cared for it is. The owners met us and walked us through the home's quirks, extremely friendly and helpful.
This is a "find" property, architecturally distinct and in an unique location with great views of the active fauna aggregating at the mouth of the Russian river. The description does not do it justice. It has to be experienced. Francesca and Lotus, who are the hosts, were very welcoming with lots of ideas about the surroundings. They were easily reachable for questions or advice. The house is clean, comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking in, but there are plenty of dining options in the region. The River's End should not be missed. The Farmhouse is another Michelin one star restaurant, within driving distance in Forestville. Plenty of places to visit for hiking on the coast or inland, with scenic roads crisscrossing the many wineries in the region. The house has 2 levels and the main rooms are connected by some steps, and outdoor terraces, which are inviting to spend time outside. Best place in Jenner. Hope for an opportunity to return.
We had a wonderful time at The Blue Lotus. The sleeping facilities were comfortable, kitchen well appointed, and the view was so lovely we barely wanted to leave the house! Thank you, Francesca, for allowing us a wonderful weekend away.
We took our really good friends to Jenner for the weekend for a birthday celebration. Our friend is an architect, and really appreciated the uniqueness of the home. What a comfortable home with spectacular views. Blue Lotus owner, Francesca, is such a pleasure to correspond with as you enjoy the planning of your getaway. We had dinner the first night at Rivers End which was lovely. Then we ate in the next night. It's a great kitchen and very well stocked. The view is just priceless! What a wonderful time! Thank you!
My wife and I recently stayed at the Blue Lotus and couldn't be happier with our experience. The house is very comfortable and has a great unique design that will keep you saying 'Wow'! We had plenty to do and still have many more things we couldn't squeeze in during our short stay...another reason to come back! A bit of a drive to Napa but close to Sonoma so no shortage of great wineries to visit in either place. Francesca was very thorough showing us all the bells and whistles of the home and had lots of great insight into local spots tucked away here and there. Overall a fantastic home with amenities to make you feel at home and comfortable. Thanks for sharing your home with us and making our Anniversary unforgettable!
We had a wonderful stay at Francesca's house. They were very caring and the house had a beautiful view. The house is very clean and kitchen is very well equipped, beds are very comfortable. The property has a unique atmosphere - a perfect getaway for a relaxing weekend or longer. Also they gave us some very good recommendations for wine tasting and restaurants!! Breathtaking Highway 1 delights visitors with crashing waves, sea lions and otters sunning on the beaches, and amazing sunsets that color the sky in brilliant hues.
More than 20,000 gray whales migrate past the Sonoma Coast each year. The whales are en route from the Arctic Ocean and Bering Sea to the Gulf of Cortez in Mexico, where they will calf in winter. From January through May, the mothers with their newborn hug the shore as they head north to feed off Alaska.
View wildlife year round at Goat Rock, near the mouth of the Russian River, the beach is a regular resting ground for seagulls, sea otters, elephant seals, harbor seals, and sea lions.
With miles of hiking trails you can take a walk along some of the most beautiful coastal trails on Earth. Spend the day biking by the coast or inland towards the redwood forest. Kayak up or down the Russian River.
See a live seal show in Jenner. Throw your kayak or canoe into the Russian River at Duncans Mills and paddle to the mouth of the river and get close to the seals and sea lions that sun themselves on the beach.
Take a Farm Trail tour or visit one of our many farmers markets. What the Bay Area eats, Sonoma County grows. Sonoma County is a agricultural powerhouse. Sonoma County Wine Region: The world-class Sonoma wine region offers over 370 wineries. Within the county are 15 American Viticulture Areas (AVAs, appellations, or wine-growing regions) with unique soils and climates that allow certain grape varieties to grow particularly well.
Within a 10 minute drive visit Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve an 805-acre park, features a magnificent grove of ancient redwoods, a large outdoor amphitheater, self-guided nature trails and a variety of picnic facilities.
Within a 15 minute drive you can visit Bodega Head in Bodega Bay. Rent a boat and go deep sea fishing, whale watching or diving. Bodega Head is the rocky headland that forms the entrance into Bodega Harbor. The harbor side provides a popular crabbing area along the jetty, and the many hiking trails on the ocean side allow access to small, sandy coves and spectacular scenic bluff-top views. The high cliffs offer excellent vantage points for observing migrating gray whales. Famous for the location of the Alfred Hitchcock's movie 'The Birds'.
Within a 10 minute drive you can play golf at the Northwood Golf Club. It was recently ranked by Golf World Magazine as the #3 Nine-hole course in America! Built in 1928 by famed golf architect Alister MacKenzie set amidst towering Redwood trees.
Dive up the coast 11 miles and visit Fort Ross State Historic Park. The 3,386-acre park preserves a Russian settlement.
