Luxury two bedroom unit at the prestigious Aqualina Beach Club directly on beautiful Simpson Bay beach. Unit 101 is the ideal property for one or two couples that love outdoor living and easy access to the beach and the turquoise Caribbean Sea. The unit is one of three in the complex of ten units with a large wood terrace just below the terrace where one will find four chaise lounge chairs, two Tucci umbrellas, a jacuzzi J-345 hot tub with built in stereo, as well as a private beach access with hand held shower. Beach lounge chairs are also provided as well as portable umbrellas, beach bags and small coolers. The interior of the unit is luxuriously appointed with everything one could imagine needing to enjoy their holiday. The unit has three large screen flat Samsung Smart wifi televisions, two ice machines, and professional Viking 500 series BBQ to name a few features.

With over 1700 square feet of air conditioned space and 500 square feet of outdoor space, you will find this property to meet all your needs. The spacious master bedroom opens up to a large terrace with stunning views over the beach and out over the blue Caribbean Sea. Relax in your king size temperpedic bed with luxurious Hotel Collection 600 thread count linens and gaze out over the ocean to the Dutch island of Saba on the horizon. Enjoy amazing sunsets from the large beachside terrace where you will find chaise lounge chairs and an outdoor dining table for eight. The second bedroom has it's own small terrace over looking the pool area. Here you will find a Temperpedic Queen size bed. Both bedrooms have large wall mounted flat screen TV's with Dish Network service. The kitchen is a chef's dream come true. All of the appliances are professional series Viking and Miele. The $3500 Miele built in coffee system will make that perfect cappuccino with the press of a button once you find it possible to drag yourself out of your comfortable bed in the morning. The unit is fully air conditioned (central air conditioning) yet has fans throughout. Other amenities include in room hotel safe, gas Viking 500 series BBQ grill, powder room for guests, L'Occitaine bath products, etc. Once you stay at Aqualina 101, you will find it hard to vacation elsewhere on the island.

About Michael Deher

I was lucky to be born and raised on the island of St. Maarten. My father comes from the small French town of Grand Case. He moved to the Dutch side at an early age and later in life met my mother who had moved down from the US to work at a hotel on the island. My grand parents had sold everything in Connecticut and moved the family to the island in the 60's to open Mary's Fancy Plantation hotel. Back in those days it was the place to stay. I attended American University in Washington DC and love the lifestyle St. Maarten allows.

Why Michael Deher chose St Maarten / Saint Martin

Since graduating from university in 1992, I have worked for years handling vacation rentals to St. Maarten / St. Martin. I always enjoyed assisting people find the perfect rental property on the island and making their holiday a success. Aqualina Beach Club unit 401 is the first property that I own and do vacation rentals. I started in January of 2013 and the property has rented very well. I meet most guest personally and everyone seems to love staying in the unit. I have tried to create a Four Seasons / Ritz Carlton guest experience in the unit. Everything from the Temperpedic mattress, to the luxurious Hotel Collection linens, to the bath robs, L'Occitane bath products etc is just a level of quality not found in other rental units.

What makes this condo unique

You will not find another property on St. Maarten that offers such a spacious private rooftop area complete with large professional bar (with True 2 door glass cooler, stand alone ice machine, dual sink, 60' Samsung flat screen Smart wifi TV, and all the glassware to host a party for 100 people), hot tub over looking the beach (with seating for seven and built in stereo and fiber optic light system), chaise lounge chairs, out door dining for eight persons, covered seating area off bar, beautiful air conditioned bathroom with step down shower with rain system shower head, a BBQ area complete with sink and copping board counter space, and more importantly the spectacular 270 degree view of the yachts in Simpson Bay lagoon, the hills of St. Maarten, down the beach and over to the island of Anguilla. This unit is the highest structure on the entire beach and offers 100% privacy for you and your guests. No other unit in the building has access to this rooftop area which is accessed by an interior stairway from the unit's living room. There is no better place to work on your tan, enjoy a cocktail in the hot tub while the sun sets or for hosting small parties. During New Years Eve, you can watch the fire works from multiple areas on the island. The unit itself is the best you will find on the island. The kitchen is a chef's dream with Viking and Miele appliances. The appointments are all luxurious from Temperpedic mattresses, Hotel Collection linens, towels and robes. If you want the best, there is really little choice.

Amazing!!!

This is top notch property! Michael was a delight to work with from the beginning. He is extremely accomodating and hospitable. My husband and I like to take a relaxing summer vacation each year and this place offered just that! No need to leave the premises. We walked to Karakter every day for either breakfast, lunch or evening cocktails. Unfortunately we had to weather two storms (Danny and Erika) while on the island but aside from a couple cloudy days and windy nights we felt totally safe in the unit. We wanted to get around the island but to be honest it was hard to leave the condo with all the amenities. However, we did make it to Maho, Loterie Farm and St. Barts. While in St. Barts all we could think of was being back at the condo--that's just how great this place is. The upstairs terrace for me was the highlight! Will definitely be back next year.

Simply the BEST!

2nd time staying at one of Michael's properties. Everything has been thought through with the highest level of standards, from the gourmet kitchen to the fabulous penthouse upper deck. Every day we returned home from a tough day at the beach (ha ha), to then enjoying the sunset while resting in the jacuzzi with a cocktail in hand. Does it really get any better? Enjoy this fantastic penthouse condo!

Luxury at its Finest

This penthouse is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the beach. From the multiple decks with 360 degree views to the most comfortable beds imaginable to the upscale kitchen, the unit has been exceptionally designed and furnished for the lucky vacationers who stay there. There are lots of good restaurants nearby and a very beautiful almost-private beach to enjoy. Michael and Pet are an added bonus as they make sure that the stay is perfect. We will be returning again next year.

A piece of paradise!

I spent a long weekend here and loved every bit of it. The decor is very nice and every detail has been attended to. There is also a lot of room to lounge around and invite people over. The rooftop area is to die for. The jacuzzi and wet bar overlooking the ocean are impossible to beat.

My biggest critique, and this applies to pretty much all properties, is that you have to have a car to stay here. The public transportation is no good. Aside from this, the location is perfect. In an area with lots happening, but far away from the main street that it's quiet at night. Would definitely come back here on my next trip.

This property exceeds all expectations. Romantic, luxurious, convenient, and unforgettable vistas. Everything was top notch including the dream kitchen and rooftop whirlpool. Nothing here has been compromised. You will never want to go anywhere else after staying here. Once you sit on the balcony and take in all of the views it becomes very difficult to leave. All of the amenities are the very best available. We cannot wait to return. Michael is the consummate host and always very accessible tending to your every need. Thank you for everything Michael. We will be returning soon! Tom and Jackie (Our stay was from January 17 through January 25, 2014)

The key advantage of Simpson Bay beach is the spectacular beach with its breathtaking ocean views, however the location is a main plus as well. Simpson Bay is a quiet old fishing village and the beach is not well know and hence always quiet, yet drive out to the main road and you are close to everything. A few minutes drive West and you are in Maho, the entertainment center of the island where you will find casinos, restaurants, shops, spas, beach bars, golf, tennis, etc. Drive the other way and you will come to marinas with ferries to other islands, water sports and more restaurants and casinos as well as a movie theater. The capitals of Philipsburg and Marigot are not far and offer many activities including duty free shopping. A new causeway bridge is scheduled to open on December 13, 2013 which will cut the drive to Marigot and Grand Case in half.

Notes:
Being in the Caribbean, the electricity and / or water service can at times be disrupted. Aqualina Beach Club has it's own standby generator which runs the entire property when the power is off. If the power does go off, the generator comes on automatically and guests will only experience a few seconds of no electricity. The complex also has a cistern so water outages do not affect the residences.
