Overview

Europe House Rental Photos and Description

Accommodation for 4 grown-ups.

The house 'Georgios-on-Sea' was built in 2007 with people in mind who seek peace and quiet, room to breathe, and who long to experience Nature at its best. It was built on a gently flowing hillside in Antiparos, a serene, sparsely populated Aegean Island. It has a wide panoramic view of the sea and neighbouring islands, some of which are uninhabited. The fascinating construction makes this house a jewel of Cycladishe architecture, which includes the combination of the colours 'white and blue' and the use of natural stones. The house is furnished with quality items and all necessary equipment for comfortable self-catering. It has approx. 50 square metres living psce, a south and a west terrace. The living/dining room is on the ground floor with a kitchennette, 2 large single beds, teak furnishings and a shower with toilet. The main bedroom upstairs has a double bed, two washing cubicles and a toilet. The house is ideal for 4 persons and a small child. A pergola is currently being built.

Terrace on west and south sides: There are two terraces of different sizes. The terrace on the west side is the largest of the two, and here a bamboo pergola is being built to give more shade and to provide more protection from the sun. Completion date, May 2009. The picture of the pergola is not yet available on the Internet. The smaller terrace is near the house entrance, and has a large sun umbrella.

Bedroom: The robust furnishings is new, the mattresses as well as the beds and bedclothes are also new and of the highest quality. The main bedroom is fitted with a wardrobe, night tables and a dressing table. The windows have dark curtains and also shutters. Towels and bath rugs are provided in sufficient quantity.

The two large single-beds downstairs are outfitted exactly the same as the main bedroom upstairs, however, without night tables.

There are window shutters here also.

Kitchenette: In the kitchenette, there is a refrigerator, a cooker with four cooking plates, a grill, as well as a a sink. The kitchenette is well equipped with plates, cups, eating utensils, etc. enough for six persons. The round teak table is also sufficient for six persons.

There is a coffee maker, a water-heater, a garden-grill and a hairdryer.

The best vacations this family of 4 had had!

  • 5 of 5

A family of 4 (7 y.o. girl and 1.5 y.o. boy) - by far it was the best vacation we had had. When we arrived to the house (after 10 hours of travel and a night with no sleep) we were overtook by the view from the trace! however we all went to bed for a mid day nap in the clean, comfortable beds. Though a baby cot was waiting on the upper floor in the master bedroom, we decided to lay the little one on a regular bed downstairs with his sister. We woke up to a pinkish sunset over the bay.

The next morning we woke up and were greeted by a goat and its kid that climbed up the hill and into the neighbors' trace.

The colors of the ocean (turquoise and blue), st. Giorgos chapel beneath and the island in front were exactly what we needed...

We spent the week going to the beaches (we enjoyed the st. Giorgos chapel beach the most) napping, beach again or visiting Antiparos town.

The house had all the utilities and in good shape. we cooked two out of three daily meals in the house (pasta, rice, meat, salads, toasts ext.) The only downside to Monika's house is the dependency in a car (the house is situated approx. 11 km from the town) how ever the drives are short but worth it - We drove up to the great stalagmite cave, different beaches, we visited the town of Parikia in Paros island (not a must...) and so forth.

I first contacted Monika through the Homaway website. She was very inviting and helpful. After explaining exactly about the house and the contract she helped us and made the connection with car agency (which were also very friendly and willing to assist with asks and wants the we had) on our behalf.

As i wrote, the house was clean, and as agreed the baby cot was waiting, extra towels, blankets, pillows, cupboard with dried foods and seasonings, coffe, tea, sugar.

All in all it was a great experience for us and we hop to do it again next summer

Charming house with wonderful sea views

  • 4 of 5

What a wonderful little house close to the sea. The communications with the owner were excellent, she was attentive and trusting. The house itself was comfortable, clean, well-designed and attractive. A car or scooter is a necessity, as the main town is 11 km away and there are no supplies available other than what the town offers. The beaches nearby are fabulous, especially the hidden away ones. In town there are wonderful restaurants and some classy shops. The beach and restaurant at Soro Beach are outstanding. We had the impression, due to photos and descriptive words used in the write-up, that the house was on the water, but it actually sits high up on a steep hill, with the water about 1/4 mile away. One cannot walk down the hill to the beach, the way is steep and covered with thorny plants. Because of the elevations and plant growth one encounters before direct beach access as well as the houses very nearby and the houses under construction very nearby; this house is not privately situated, we would not return.

Owner's Response: Dear Vic, dear Marsha, We are very grateful for your kind words so eloquently expressed in your rating of your stay in our holiday home Agios Georgios. Your complementary words about our house, the accommodation, the communication with us as, indeed, your description of the surrounding area is also very much appreciated. As you saw and experienced, we make every effort to ensure that our guests spend one of the best holidays of their lives. To achieve this, we are at all times ready to answer all questions by our guests before as well as during their stay, so that misunderstandings could be avoided. For this reason, the descriptions and photographic material provided in our advertisement are as detailed as we can make them. To reiterate; our holiday home is located on a slope above the sea, at approx. 40 metres height in quiet surroundings, giving our guests a pleasant view of the sea. As you know, in addition to the renting contract we provide all our guests with detailed information regarding the infrastructure, travel as well as photographic material about plants, beaches, and so on and so forth. As you have seen, Antiparos is a small island, a natural paradise with various botanic and herbal plants the preservation of which, holds back the construction of a modern road system, - well, at least for the time being – thus, adding to the charm of the Kykladen that is sadly missing in many other places. As you may have noticed, there is a winding path by the chapel which leads to the nearest beach inside of ten minutes. However, we normally recommend to our guests that’s they use a car to the beach. The drive takes only 2-3 minutes. We very much hope that with the above we’ve clarified all points addressed by yourselves, and would once again like to say our thanks for your kind words, and, indeed, hope to see you again in our holiday home in the not too distant future. Wishing you both good health and pleasant days ahead. Yours, Monika Janka-Lindelaub

A cosy and great place to stay for holidays

  • 5 of 5

it is a beautiful place with a great view and privacy. The house in original Greek stile is quite cosy. It has convenient accommodation and the equipment is in really good quality. That place is ideal to come down and relax. The view from the balcony over the sea and the islands is fabulous. We sat there for hours watching light and colors. The landlady is very friendly. She gave really good tipps in advance. We felt very comfortable and well advised. Everything around the house and our stay there worked out very well. Things were well organized, in time and accurate. A gorgeous place . Hope to coma back soon!

PLACE TO BE

  • 5 of 5

Couple, 35 and 38, England

We loved our stay in this typical Cycladic house. Fantastic location with an breathtaking view just a few minutes away from the beaches. The owner, Monika, was great to communicate by email and provided a lengthy description of possibilities to travel to Antiparos, shops, beaches, car agencies, restaurants and activities. The kind custodian met us at the harbour, accompanied us to the house and explained everything we needed to know. – Very relaxing atmoshere. At night, we could watch the Galaxy because there is less light on the isles. All in all, we had a magical stay in Monika`s house and we are happy to recommend it!

The best spot in the Cyclades

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic house in a beautiful part of the Island of Antiparos. One of the best islands in the Aegean. Not overcrowded (like Paros) with a great selection of restaurants to choose from and picturesque tavernas by the sea. This is Greece as you imagine it. Heidi & Mario

Ein bisschen wie früher...

  • 5 of 5
