Great property Well equipped kitchen The owner Dinos was extremely helpful with car hire etc
The property was excellent. Clean, well kept and well equipped kitchen. Beds extremely comfortable with sheets, towels replaced mid week Very happy with the accommodation
Home from Home with Fantastic Views
We spent just over two weeks at Alemar House. As other reviewers have mentioned Dinos was the perfect host, very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We were picked p from the airport even though we arrived late in the evening. Dinos also arranged a very competitive car hire deal. Alemar House is very comfortable and has the best equipped kitchen we have ever used on a self catering holiday. Barbati is a very pleasant quiet resort but with all the basic amenities at hand and a good selection of restaurants. Our favourite was the Starlight. There is a bus service so you can explore nearby resorts as well as Corfu town. We took a day trip to Albania which was very interesting but you need to take your passport when you book. All in all an extremely enjoyable holiday and we will be back when Dinos has had the pool put in!
Thank you Dinos and also Sandra who made the booking process so easy.
Bliss perfect Bliss
Just spent the most blissful 2 weeks in this small house built into the hillside of Barbati.
The owners have provided everything you could wish for to make this a perfect home on holiday, including wifi which actually works, which, from experience is rare. The kitchen has every electrical item you could possibly need, although we ate out every night at the delightful nearby restaurants. The house is immaculately clean and the bed linen and towels were of exceptional quality (I think brand new when we arrived - crisp cotton). The house was cleaned thoroughly at least twice while we were there and the linen and towels changed at end of first week. There is a washing machine so you can wash as and when you like anyway. The huge plus point of this house is the view from every aspect. It must be one of the best or THE best in the resort. We could sit for hours over breakfast in the morning or over a drink in the evening and no two days were the same. The beach is only a short walk down the hill. Not sand but pebbles - very clean and not too busy except at weekends when the locals use it and why not! Who can blame them. The restaurants are only a short stroll away and each is as good as the next. There are a few beach restaurants which are very classy but a bit more expensive. All in all it's quite a classy resort but no need to dress up - it's all very casual. there is a good bus service which we found useful until we got used to driving. The roads are very narrow and twisty - take care - we had a few hairy moments! The owner of the house, Dhinos, is a perfect gentleman. He picked us up form the airport, helped us settle in and provided a car at a competitive price.
There are 55 steps up to the house so by the end of the two weeks we were fitter than when we arrived - this did not bother us in the least but of course not suitable for the elderly/infirm.
Loved Barbati - loved the house. Will definitely be going back.
Maybe some weedkiller in the garden for next year Dhinos?
Thank you very much for your lovely and reach review with so many details about our house and your holiday. Those details will be very helpful for our future guests. We are pleased that you spend your holiday in such a great pleasure.
You are very kind and friendly people and hopefully we will welcome you again soon!
Alemar House, lovely view and great base
We spent the first week in September in Villa Alemar.
The house was very comfortable and clean and was a great base; providing easy access to the beach (a 4 minute walk down the hill), tavernas, bakery and supermarkets just along the road and was also well placed for exploring Corfu town to the south and the quieter beaches further north.
The house is set above the main road and is reached by steps. There is a car park at the bottom of these steps with ample parking.
Air conditioning worked well in the comfortable bedrooms, the kitchen was very well equipped and there was a limitless supply of hot water with good pressure in the bathroom. The house was cleaned thoroughly and bed linen and towels changed mid week. One minor issue was the WiFi signal, which was very poor and unreliable.
Lovely views from the balcony as other reviewers have stated. We did not spend much time in the outside area, but we were informed of plans to upgrade this and to install a pool next year.
We too, must mention Dinos, who is a charming man. We had stayed further north before arriving at Alemar and had our own car, so did not take up his offer of free transfers to and from the airport.
However, he took us to the house, arranged free sun beds at a nearby beach club in Barbati, recommended restaurants and allowed us an extremely generous late check out on our last day, which meant an extra day at the beach, dinner and showers before heading to the airport in the evening.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and extend our sincere thanks to Dinos for all his help and kindness.
Fantastic view, great villa and location
We had a wonderful family holiday staying at Alemar House for two weeks. Much time was spent sitting on the balcony enjoying the view. The beach is very close and we also enjoyed the use of the nearby pool. The villa was cleaned thoroughly twice a week with fresh towels and bed linen. Dinos was very welcoming and helpful and also was able to help with car hire. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return ourselves. We particularly enjoyed the Dionysius restaurant and La Piazza restaurant including Greek dancing.
Everything about this holiday was 5*. We were met from the airport by the owner Dinos, a quick stop of on the way so we could go to the supermarket for supplies. A beautiful Villa, that was spotlessly clean.
Towels and bedding and more cleaning whilst we were there.
3 minute walk form the beautiful beach and the beach bars. 2-3 minute walk from The Tavernas, all of which were excellent.
This is the first place that we have been that we would re visit.
A beautiful, friendly country.
