Totally Country That's Near All The Action!

About Warren and Mary
We moved to McKinney onto our country acreage over 25 year ago to raise our large family in the country. With most of our 8 kids now grown and gone we're ready to share the natural beauty of our homestead with others thanks to the internet and airbnb. We love the country but we also love culture and the arts. The DMA, Kimbell, Winspear, Meyerson are where we go for fun!
Warren and Mary purchased this House in 1992
Why Warren and Mary chose Celina
Situated on 57 acres bounded by the east fork of the Trinity River and on a dead end road that is canopied by giant trees makes this a natural retreat that is just minutes to shopping and dining. The lightly traveled paved county roads out here are absolutely perfect for running and biking! Bring your bikes, they'll be safe out here. At night the stars are bright and clear and the sunrises and evenings are beautiful. The house is surrounded by trees and since it sits on a hilltop there always seems to be a cooling breeze blowing. We live down the hill a bit so you'll see us occasionally and our amazing friendly dog Jack and a few roaming chickens. You may even see deer in the meadow and an occasional wild turkey coming up from the river. What you won't see or hear is emergency vehicles, lots of cars, loud music, or construction.
What makes this House unique
In the country, but so close to everything! Secluded hide-away with your hosts living nearby to quickly help out if needed. Since this place is our home too, we keep it immaculate! Though there is so much development around, all you can see remains untouched and natural since our place is bounded by a river. Deer, hawks, song birds, and other wildlife are all around to be seen.

Cute Farm House
We rented both houses in the property
They were both immaculate and comfortable. I highly recommend it! The owners were friendly and there are 2 dogs that will come visit! Great experience!
Great location to several wedding venues in the area
Great home away from home. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen and outdoor fire pit was a good place to end the day and star gaze
This is my second stay at this farmhouse and we will be back again! It is just far enough out of town to feel removed from everything but close enough to McKinney to be able to shop in town or go out for dinner. We found a new BBQ place in Celina this trip. Warren & Mary are wonderful hosts, the house is perfect for a group with a well equipped kitchen, so if you want to stay in a cook, that's an option. The beds a comfortable and the house is always clean. We loved our weekend with friends!
We had such an amazing time at this property! We had family from 3 different states that all met and stayed together for a wedding. It was clean, cozy and roomy enough for everyone. We had lots of laughs and made some great memories!
Beautiful home, countryside, view, and the nicest folks you could ever hope for.
Everything was beyond what we had hoped for; beautiful location, home, amenities, and convenient to the remote venue that our daughter had picked for her wedding.
Our only regret was Not being able to spend almost any time relaxing and enjoying the home and surrounding area.
Between the preparations for, and the actual 'event' (marriage & reception), when were finally able to return to and spend time at the Farmhouse, it was PERFECT, relaxing, and beautiful. Thank you Warren & Mary. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Everything was just as described! Thanks!
We really enjoyed staying here during our wedding weekend. The bedrooms were a little small but perfectly comfortable. The only thing I missed was a dresser. The house and property were so pretty and quiet; we would definitely make the same choice again.
First, immediately next door is the family run Stonebranch Microfarm. If you’re into sustainable, organic farming this place is worth checking out. They love to give free tours, takes about an hour and a half to see it all. They show the place after 7 pm with an appointment any day. We can help arrange it if you're interested in that.
Second, one door down (so to speak) is the Chambersville Tree Farm and Chandler's Garden Wedding Venue. Such a lush and beautiful place to walk through, also a wedding venue. It is closed on Mondays, but other than that just take a walk from the Cottage right through it. Morning is great or if it’s not locked evening is better. It’s ok if it’s after hours if the gates are open. If anyone asks just say your staying with the Robbins - we’re all friends and neighbors here!
Next, the historic downtown McKinney Square is definitely worth visiting, lots of great places to eat down there plus it's just fun to walk around. The old courthouse (converted into the McKinney Performing Arts Center) usually has free exhibits in the basement worth checking out. Hint - the Cadillac Pizza Pub near the square has an awesome lunch special, very generous. Leaves lots for later or just split one order!
Next check out the Adriatic area off Virginia Parkway - so cool. Lots of coffee shops, and restaurants and walking areas. There are several popular places like Zen Zin and pizza places. Across the street is a place run by a family we know called The Donut Kitchen, check out their cake style donuts.
Town Lake Center right of US 75 just north of El Dorado is pretty nice for a picnic and a walk. They have paddle boats for rent.
We love seeing movies at the Cinemark 16 (921 State Highway 121, Allen, TX 75070). They have matinee pricing before 5 pm, the best part is the spacious recliner seating!
In Allen, check out the Shops At Fairview off Stacy Rd, there is an nice bowling alley called Splitsville that has a great special on Tuesdays. So fun. Plus great shopping like Old Navy, Macy's, Dillards, etc. We LOVE Pie5, it’s like a Chipotle but for personalized pizzas in 5 minutes. That's right there in the area. Also, Cheddar’s is good, try their chicken fried steaks or hamburgers and especially their batter dipped giant basket onion rings.
Across the highway on the west on Stacy Rd is a large outlet shopping area, sometimes we've found some great deals there. Lots of choices.
In Allen, there is the Rodenbaugh Natatorium. We love that place too! Climbing Wall, gym, and water park.
Heading west over to Frisco down 121 Rayburn Tollway, LOTS to do there. First the Stonebriar Mall is a beast of a mall. Something for everyone there. My daughter loves the Sam Moon Accessory shop. If you want to try true Texas style barbecue eat at Spring Creek Barbecue off Preston near the mall. Their fresh rolls are incredible.
Here is the official list from Frisco:
