About Pam & John

We moved to Canandaigua Lake Region in 2012. Truly have fallen in love with the lifestyle, people, restaurants, wineries, shops and everything this beautiful area has to offer. They call it 'The Chosen Place' for a reason!! When the opportunity arose to purchase Sunset Deck and be able to share this feeling with everyone, we jumped on it. We are excited for others to feel the tranquility and experience the enjoyment of the water, views and local offerings; which will be true memory makers.

Pam & John purchased this house in 2013

Why Pam & John chose New York

Adorably appointed and perfectly located close to everything!! Sliding glass door takes you out onto the spacious wrap around decks, all rooms tastefully painted, all bedding and quality towels, tv, pots and pans and accessories! Books, cards board games, magazines, dvds, internet and 200 Chnls of cable entertainment for a rainy day or on the deck.

What makes this house unique

When walking into the property at our viewing... we both said, WOW! look at that view. The front on the house is a large picture window and sliding glass door. All you can see is the lake and greenery. Then we walked outside on the spacious wrap around deck... and said WOW! yet again. We couldn't believe we found this gem that is so close to all attractions, yet very private with all public utilities and easy access from road. Many properties in the area have steep driveways, this does not. Driveway is easily accessed right off the road.

Wonderful rental!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here last fall for four nights. In September, the Finger Lakes are absolutely lovely and this was the perfect place to stay to enjoy the stunning sunsets. The inside is clean and cute; we cooked several meals here and had all the dishes, utensils etc. that we could need. The owner was friendly and accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again.

Second Time as Good as the First!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd visit to this cottage and hopefully not our last!

Why we love it - The deck is so spacious and has a beautiful view of the lake. Even though there are neighbors, the trees provide privacy for deck dining, reading, star gazing or whatever.

The cottage has everything you need, and is decorated with an artistic eye, but homey and comfortable enough to settle right in.

The area has so many things to discover, so we were never bored. This visit included our 22 year old and he was just as happy as his parents. We visited vineyards and micro-breweries, but also just drove around stopping at whatever interested us at the moment; a great view or an ice cream shop. It was an ideal vacation!

The owners are wonderful, and you really feel you are renting from a friend.

Great home!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 stayed at the sunset deck in early August and from the moment we walked in the ooh's and ahh's started. Great view from the very spacious deck, beautiful breeze blowing in and the well apportioned living room and bedrooms were fantastic. The house served as a great base for all the area has to offer.....and believe me the area has plenty to offer as we did not get to everything on our list.....The house was a welcome return in the evenings as we enjoyed dinner and most breakfasts on the deck. Everything about the house is clean and comfortable. We hope to return again.

Expectations exceeded!

  • 5 of 5

When visiting family in the area, I like to rent a cottage on Canandaigua Lake instead of a hotel. It costs no more, and if views, serenity, and privacy are important to you, this is the place for you. I also was able to entertain 5 friends for lunch on the "stunning deck" who were equally impressed. Our "lunch" lasted for 5 hours because no one wanted to leave the very pleasant surroundings! The kitchen was well-equipped - cable TV, WIFI and airconditioning were all provided. A short drive to the grocery (Wegman's), shopping and restaurants. Pam and John thought of everything!

Couldn't ask for anything more.

  • 5 of 5

This quaint little cottage is all you could ask for. Very neat and clean. Pam and John were extremely cordial. The deck was beautiful and so relaxing with incredible sunsets. We loved being in the Cannandaigua area. Restaurants were great. The worst thing about it was that we didn't have a full week. We had wished we booked a longer stay. Looking for relaxation? this is the place!. Would definitely recommend it to a friend or relative. Linda & Steve

Wonderful experience!!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage had so many little details and was exactly what a person would want in a vacation home. We couldn't think of anything we needed. Our planned activities were an hour away, but each day we rushed back so we could sit on the deck for the views and peacefulness. Pam and John were very thoughtful and always available. I would recommend staying for a full week. We found our two days to be too short. We are looking forward to returning.
