Large, clean home near American University
Beautiful home! It was spotless and perfect for our stay. Highly recommend.
Great DC home
Butterworth Pl was a great home away from home for our mini family reunion. Close enough to the metro, but free parking made travel in and around the city easy. And the nearby Wholefoods provided all the goodies we needed to eat in when we wanted.
We loved our stay
We absolutely loved our stay. It was just as described and Liz is awesome.
the house is in an ideal location and we couldn't have been happier!!
It is a lovely home.
Our stay in Washington
We very much enjoyed this home, as did our children and grandchildren. It was so pleasant that we were reluctant to leave it to go sight-seeing!
Thanks Connie! Pleasure to meet you - hope you'll come again! Best, Liz
A very nice sta....
I and a colleague stayed in this house for a week while attending an event at the American University law school. The house far exceeded expectations; it is attractive, nicely decorated, pretty hardwood floors, a modern and well-equipped kitchen, bright cheerful living spaces with a big flat-screen tv (albeit a bit hard to figure out how to operate). Three bedrooms upstairs, a lovely master with a very nice in-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and huge tub, the other two with a more traditional but fully satisfactory shared bath. Really much more like your own home than a rental. The owners live downstairs and are helpful but not at all intrusive. The house is located in an attractive safe residential neighborhood, very close to the law school. Visitors however should be aware that this house is on the outer edge of the District, far from the tourist sights. The closest metro stop is at Tenleytown, a brisk 20-25 minute walk on residential streets away. There is a nearby small local commercial strip -- a small grocery, CVS, a couple of coffee shops and restaurants -- but for the large supermarket (Whole Foods) and a broader range of restaurants etc you need to go to Tenleytown. So a godd location for brisk walkers, but a bit far from public transport, and if you want to be in the center of things go somewhere else. But if you want a comfortable, peaceful and attractive base of operations in DC its a very nice choice indeed.
Thanks Jesse. Great to meet you! Glad you enjoyed the house and the neighborhood.
charming, spacious house with lovely garden
We stayed here three nights and the house couldn't be more wonderful. Great kitchen if you're inclined to cook, spacious and elegant sunroom with lots of windows and french doors out to the garden. Charming dining room with more french doors to outside. Incredibly spacious great room. Master bedroom suite has wonderful bath. The second bedroom is filled with light. Appreciated also the 2.5 baths, with one right off the kitchen. The house is meticulously kept and is in a gorgeous neighborhood. You won't be disappointed!
Hi Marian, thanks so much for your lovely review! We're so glad the weather was great and you also got to enjoy the garden and deck. Look forward to having you back! Liz & Matthew
American University Park is a neighborhood of Washington, D.C., named for the American University. AU Park, as it is often abbreviated, is situated against the Maryland border in the Northwest quadrant, bounded by Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Western Avenues. Tenleytown and Friendship Heights lie to the east, Embassy Park to the southeast, and Spring Valley—the actual home of the university—to the southwest.
