2 Bed 1 Bath Home In Heart Of San Diego And Short Walk To Thriving Park Blvd.
- english, german, spanish
Our family purchased the home as an investment in 2009. We recently decided to remodel the home and turn it into a vacation rental. The location is perfect for out-of-towners in love with (or ready to fall in love with) San Diego. We certainly have enjoyed living in SD both when we were young and single, then as a dating couple, and now raising our kids here.
David purchased this House in 2009
Why David chose University Heights
University Heights is full of unique restaurants and cafes and is close to Hillcrest, the downtown/Gaslamp district, Little Italy and Balboa Park. Our guests can take advantage of a great walking neighborhood where going out for a meal or coffee does not require getting into a car. For families with kids, Trolley Barn Park is an easy walk from the home. World renowned San Diego Zoo is less than 5 minutes by car. Our guests can also take advantage of the free summer concert's in the Trolley Barn park, Padres baseball at Petco park and beaches within a 15 minute drive from the home. The US/ Mexico border is approximately a 30 minute drive from the home for those wanting to explore our neighbor to the South.

Nice place to stay in San Diego
Place was clean, quiet and close to those areas we were interested in
Very good. Great location
Thanks, Tina and David. Your house is cozy and inviting. Unfortunately, the house and furniture were very damp due to the recent rainy weather inSan Diego. The gas fireplace did help to lessen the humidity in the home but it took a few days. The dampness in the house would not keep me from staying here in the future. Thanks again
Convenient location for family gathering
This was the second year that our east and west coast family members were able to gather together to celebrate the holidays at this lovely home. The kitchen was well-stocked for nightly family meal preparation and beds were comfortable. The tank-less water heater insured hot showers for all and ample linens were provided. The Trolley Barn Park and Sunday Farmers Market were an easy walk and trips to the San Diego Zoo and local grocery stores took less than 10 minutes by car. David is a supportive host and communication was prompt, clear and informative.
Comfortable, convenient and lovely.
This house is perfectly located, wirhin walking distance to restaurants, coffeehouses and entertainmemt. So convenient and in a nice neighborhood.. quiet and safe. We had everything we could wish for. We enjoyed our 5 days in San Diego. Also, truly appreciated having a place to park our rental car. Highly recommend this home. The beds were comfortable, the house so clean and cute.
We will rent again, if possible, when in town!
Nice and convenient house. Easy to connect to all areas of city. Plenty of room for a family.
Easy to find and nice to have parking for car. Beds were good and kitchen had plenty of cooking items. Tankless water heater is nice, won't run out of hot water to get ready. Nice back patio but could be cleaned up some. Nice neighborhood with all the bungalows. Owner very responsive.
Convenient and Cozy
Host was quick to respond and very accommodating. We love the University Heights area and its proximity to the beaches, Balboa Park, the zoo, and great restaurants. Kitchen, though small, was well stocked and the back patio grill made cooking easy. Fireplace was nice for warming up chilly nights. Beds were comfortable and granddaughter enjoyed books and toys. Instructions and communications were very clear and helpful. Enjoyed our stay!
University Heights is a neighborhood located in Central San Diego. It is adjacent to the neighborhoods of Hillcrest and North Park. There are a number of restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and other eclectic businesses within walking distance of our home. University Heights is centrally located and allows visitors to explore the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park to the immediate South. The larger commercial district of Mission Valley sits in the valley below University Heights and the beaches (Ocean and Mission) are a short 15 minute jaunt to the west. Downtown San Diego and all it has to offer, is a short ten minute drive to the Southwest.
