Things to do in Gwynedd-Snowdonia, Wales

The Snowdonia National Park is one of the most breathtaking places in the UK and covers 838 square miles. Snowdonia lets you explore the largest mountains in England and Wales, as well as the beautiful beaches of the Cambrian Coast. The wooded valleys, wild moors, peaceful lakes and long mountain ridges make the perfect setting for walking and cycling. There are marked cycle routes through much of the Snowdonia National Park, and sailing on one of the magnificent mountain lakes. Snowdonia walk, riding and cycle trail information can be found at the many Snowdonia tourist information offices located around the park's perimeter, and there are plenty of excellent pubs in which to retreat to after a hard day.

We had a really lovely stay at this property. It was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. We made good use of the barbecue, as the weather was quite kind to us.

Also the thoughtful bottle of wine and milk was very welcome.

Thank you very much. Elaine and Dave Bailey and all their family.

Conwy is a seaside town on the north coast of Wales. It faces Deganwy across the River Conwy. Conwy is famous for its medieval castle and for this reason is a popular tourist destination. Stunning views over Snowdonia and the harbour form the backdrop to this designated World Heritage Site and walled town.

King Edward 1 built the walled town and the adjoining castle in the 13th century at the mouth of the River Conwy.

Things to do in Conwy:

There is so much to do and see in Conwy with its historic harbour, which is one of the largest recreational boating harbours in the whole of Wales accommodating leisure craft, a small commercial fishing fleet, mussel boats and a charter angling fleet and if you have your own boat you can launch it from here. Fishing, sailing, walking, horse riding, sandy beaches and three golf courses are all within easy reach.

Golf: Conwy Gold Club is a mere 250m away, it is a venue for major international championships. It is open to visitors. The views from the bar and dining area at the club are just breadth taking, you have mountains on two sides, the and the estuary.

Conwy Golf Club is a championship course, well over 100 years old, in 2010, it held the Ladies European Championships, the views while playing golf are pretty impressive.
