About Troy Silva
Born and raised on island I have traveled all over the world. Currently I live here year round and I really enjoy my job of land surveying and on my off time I equally enjoy walking my favorite trails and beaches here and when its windy you will find me kite boarding. The house was built from a farmhouse moved to the property by my fathers parents who came from the Azore islands of Portugal back in the early 1900's . My father was actually delivered in one of the rooms upstairs. I really enjoy living here because of the sentimentality and it fits my life very well. I hope you enjoy my home (and traveling!) as much as I do! Support Local! Because I live on The Island year-round I am always just a phone call away and available to help in any way I can any time.
Why Troy Silva chose Tisbury
I really enjoy living in this house because of the obvious sentimental value. Furthermore the rustic, cozy, comfortable environment has really become my favorite feature. However I've also found over the years that the location is just so convenient. Growing up on island one might consider living in VH, OB or downtown EDG like living near or in a city, or more urban environment. This has obviously become very amusing after having seen so much of the rest of the world. I truly do love my house and the island its on.
What makes this House unique
The front yard and the big backyard are enclosed by dense privet hedges and shrubs. This house is so close to town, but still offers privacy!

Nice Property in walking distance to downtown VH
Although a little challenging to find the on the first day, we really enjoyed our stay at the house. Great private backyard. Good for kids. Awesome to be in walking distance to Main St. Our family would definitely stay here again.
Location, Pet Friendly and Quiet
Very nice owner and the bedroom air conditioning was very helpful.
Great location and space
The property is well located, spacious, and comfortable. We had a great trip. Thanks!
Great cozy home in Vineyard Haven
Troy's home was excellent for our stay. The pictures don't really do justice to the outdoor/backyard space. While the home is fairly close to neighbors, the thoughtful landscaping and plant choices convey a sense of privacy while relaxing in the shaded back yard.
The outdoor shower was a highlight, with grapes growing around and ready for picking. Beds were comfortable - particularly the memory foam one on the ground level. Several reviews mentioned the home being smaller than anticipated - I did not find this to be the case. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of cookware and basics and grill was a Weber (older but super reliable). TV and internet functioned well - I was able to work remotely without any wifi/internet issues.
House location is close enough to town to walk, and since it is set back off the main road, not too loud even during peak ferry time traffic. Troy's communication was good, and everything went super smoothly at check-in. Apparently there was a plumbing issue the day we arrived, but it was resolved before we got there! Laundry and dishwasher both functioned as they should.
Overall, this was a great stay. I'd recommend this as a place for families traveling to the Vineyard.
Great time. Great location.
Charming Home. Parking and central location. Simply beautiful. Another wonderful experience in Martha Vineyard. Thanks for your hospitality.
Clean, homey, everything works, not pretentious, pretty, private but a short walk to Vineyard Haven.
Our family, four adults and two kids liked this sweet house. It has been well maintained and the owner was considerate and hospitable by carefully making everything ready and clean for us. He responded to messages quickly. The kids liked having their own good little rooms. The beds are comfortable, everything is decent quality and not pretentious. It is an older home with art from travels around the world and other charming details. The outdoor shower has grapes around it, we all loved it. The deck is nice as well. The building is not enormous, big enough, efficient and with a sense of history. The owner's father was born upstairs I hope he does not mind me mentioning that. The gardens are lovely. The location is good; private and quiet but a short walk to the village of Vineyard Haven with good casual restaurants, a book store, other shops, docks and modest beach. It is a good place to set out from to so many varied beaches with surprisingly warm water, jazz one night, a Farmers' Market, famous people around, a diverse intergrated population and more rural landscape than I expected.
No Car Needed!!! This house is a 12 min walk or $5 cab ride from the ferry and beach.... it's an 8 min walk to town, or 1 min stroll to the bus stop. You can walk to restaurants, shops, gardens, the water, the Black Dog Tavern and many other attractions. Convenient, cute, comfortable and clean home!
Easily everything that The Vineyard has to offer!
