Come spend your vacation lake side and stay in this charming log suite that covers the entire second story of an antique log cabin home. The suite has cozy decor with a spacious open concept layout that makes relaxing with your family easy. The kitchen flows into a dining room and large living room. The master bedroom is complete with a walk in closet and en-suite bathroom. The kids get their own room with 2 twin beds. The living room opens to a large outdoor deck that overlooks the playground, so you can drink your sweet tea in comfort while the kids get to run around down below. There's also easy access to a laundromat and gym just 2 floors below (in the basement).
The log cabin suite is situated within the Lake Cove community, so your family will have access to all of the resort amenities including a swimming pool, volleyball court, basketball court, horseshoes, and miniature golf. Make sure to bring your boat because you’ll be just a minute walk from the lake and you’ll be spending a lot of time on the private sandy beach and boat dock.
I am originally from Knoxville, TN but have lived in the Dandridge area since 1991. I have an amazing wife and 3 kids - a son and 2 daughters. I love living in this area because I can drive to the mountains and ski all winter long and spend the summers on the boat with my beautiful wife and kids.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 1991
Originally from Knoxville, I moved to Dandridge with my wife and children in 1991 to build Lake Cove. My older 2 children grew up on the campground. I finished building this suite above the club house in 1995 as a home for my family. We lived in the suite until 2000 when we adopted my youngest daughter and moved into a larger home up the road. My family spent many great years here and this suite will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Enjoyed our weekend at the suite at Lake Cove Resort. No real negative issues with the place, nothing we had not discussed with the Palmers and already made preparations to take care of. Was roomy and accommodated our party easily with the ability to have accommodated the last two members had they decided to come. Would stay again without question and have plans to during the spring/summer months when the water is up to summer pool and the boys can see it. Thank you for a great experience.
The property was very clean and the property manager was extremely friendly. It was nice to be away from town and away from all of the tourist spots. The price was reasonable for the property. The view wasn't spectacular but it was still relaxing and quiet. The lake was low, so it wasn't very easily seen.
However, it is in a camp ground on the back side of Douglas Lake. The 2nd story apartment (above the camp ground office and gathering room) was great for relaxing and unwinding after busy days. There is a nice wood deck to have a meal or cup of morning coffee, but it is also overlooking the back yard of the common area/playground.
A few things to note - that we didn't know: there are no linens (including sheets and towels). Had we known that before hand, we would have brought them from home. There were no towels, dish clothes, toilet paper, garbage bags or brooms. Day 2 into our stay, we found notices of those things that should not be taken from the rental, but obviously the previous guests did not follow the requests. We had to run into Wal-mart (which is only 15-20 minutes away) to purchase some of the items to "keep house" while there. We had planned to purchase food to cook our own meals, but purchasing linens and cleaning supplies were not in the plan. Also, there were minimal dishes and cookware. I've stayed in cabins before and those items were adequately provided.
All in all, it wasn't a horrible experience. I would probably stay there again, but it may not be my first choice.
Situated on a quiet cove off the main channel of Douglas Lake, Lake Cove Resort is the perfect vacation spot to unwind and enjoy the great outdoors. There’s something for everyone. You can spend all of your days at the resort relaxing by the pool and nights roasting marshmallows in the fire pits, you can choose to explore majestic caverns and hike beautiful trails in the nearby smoky mountains, or you can seek out some adventure wake boarding on Douglas Lake or snow skiing in Gatlinburg. Be sure to bring your boat because we’re located on a beautiful lake with a private dock and a sandy beach. We’re a short drive from the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, Dollywood, and Pigeon Forge.
