Little Gasparilla Island is a wonderful hidden paradise off the beaten path accessible only by private boat or water taxi. There are no bridges or formal paved roads on the island, just charming romantic sand paths where the local residents travel by foot or by golf cart. Little Gasparilla Island is one of the barrier islands along Florida's southeast coast located just north of Boca Grande and about 20 miles north of Sanibel Island off Ft. Myers. It is less than 40 miles south of Sarasota. There are over 7 miles of pristine beach accessible along the Gulf of Mexico available for your pleasure, starting just a few hundred feet from the house. This provides wonderful romantic getaway walks for many couples and endless shelling opportunities for others.

About Lisa Driscoll
I was born, raised and educated in Florida but I've traveled the world extensively. My dream home is on Little Gasparilla Island and I want to share this dream with others.
Lisa Driscoll purchased this House in 2000
Why Lisa Driscoll chose Placida
It's easily one of the most charming places I've ever been and I want to share this with others by renting it to like minded people. I have traveled the world extensively but I find Little Gasparilla Island to be one of the best places I've ever been to. I continue to cherish it as I would an old friend. My renters thus far seem to agree.
What makes this House unique
The location is incredible and for real estate that is what it is usually all about. The property is on the Bay for safety but only a few yards from the beautiful Gulf. Fantastic fishing abounds here as does the beautiful white Gulf sands. Boca Grande, Sarasota, Ft. Myers

Great house! We loved staying with the dock right outside, it was very convenient for the boat and unloading/loading.
Great spot to fish and relax
Perfect accommodations and location
Dock space and deck were amazing at night and nice fishing as well
The most relaxing and chill spot in FL.
First time for us at L.G.I. Lisa’s bayfront home was ideal for us. We enjoyed eating out on the dock and watching dolphins, birds and fish pass by. We also loved the short walk right to the beautiful stretch of beach. Miles of walking, shelling and watching the sunset. We most appreciated the laid back, friendly vibe that the island gave. We will be back!
4 out of 5 only because the house needed some minor repairs. But, 5 out of 5 for the island.
Wonderful Vacation Spot
Lisa, your place was wonderful! Coffee on the dock each morning was amazing. The house was cute, comfortable and really charming. We just loved walking the sandy path to the beach and we found hundreds of sharks teeth. Can't wait to come back!
So glad you enjoyed your vacation Susan. Please come back soon! Lisa
I'm a painter and it couldn't have been a more perfect place to set up my easel. The house had everything we needed and we loved walking on the sandy paths around the island.
BEST KEPT SECRET
This is properly truly one of the best stays we have ever had! Didn't know what to expect from an island that you can only get to by boat. If you love the isolation and fully want to decompress, this is where it should be. At times, we were the only ones on the beach. You don't know what true relaxation is until you stay at Lisa's home. It was fully equipped with all that you could ever need. We spent countless hours exploring the island. You do not need a golf cart, nor a bike. A boat or kayak would have been fun too, but they will come next year when we stay. The boat taxi was friendly and picked you up on time. We thought we would come off the island daily, but we didn't. The one time we did, we couldn't wait to come back 'home'. We have been up and down the Florida coast and even to the Keys, but honestly, this is the best location by far.
3. Inlet view from the front, ocean steps away from the back
Thank you Lisa for sharing your home with us. And for the rest of you reading this review, please keep it a secret.
Marina's available by boat on mainland and other islands nearby as are many restaurants including nearby Boca Grande. Cayo Costa State Park and Don Pedro State Park are nearby significant attractions.
