About Greg Cosso

I live and work in San Francisco and love spending time on the NorthShore of Lake Tahoe. When we're not using the condo, we enjoy renting it out to those who enjoy it as much as we do. We just ask that you treat it as your own.

Greg Cosso purchased this townhome in 2012

Why Greg Cosso chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

It's one of the best values in all of Lake Tahoe for 1 or up to a group of 10.

What makes this townhome unique

Lake front and private beach access, with its own pier, which includes an attendant who will set up your umbrella and chairs. It also includes three tennis courts with a half court basketball with a private swimming pool and adjacent large lawn area.

Additionally, there's a bocce ball court and a horseshoe pit. Bocce balls are provided in the condo, but horseshoes are provided by the Association – Please make sure when you are done playing that you hang up the horseshoes at the location provided to avoid unsupervised children playing with the horseshoes. Sign-up sheets for tennis, bocce ball and horseshoes have been installed at the pool area. They are located on the wall of the pool equipment shed.

Please ensure you are utilizing these sign-up sheets so that you can share in the fun of these activities and enjoy our allocated time. All courts may be used for one hour from starting time provided that if people are waiting

The property is in dire need of attention both in housekeepping and general upkeep.

  • 2 of 5

We were very disappointed in the cleanliness and general upkeep of this unit. It fell far short of the pictures and description.

We found the facility run down especially in the worn and uncomfortable mattresses and broken kitchen appliances and utensils.

The unit needs a total renovation and the housekeeping requires more attention. On the positive side, the location is excellent with

a two block walk to the private beach and pool. Tahoe City has many advantages especially when traffic backs up along the lake.

Owner's Response: Our apologies we didn't meet your needs and please let us know if there is anything we could do to make the situation right as the condo has been completely booked this summer. In response to this review, we executed on several upgrades last saturday. The upgrades included new light bulbs, mattresses, bed sheets, towels, coffee maker, pots and pans, outdoor deck table, umbrella, chairs, lamps, new propane tanks for the bbq, supplies and carpet cleaning.

In need of TLC

  • 2 of 5

The last review from mid August is spot on! The property is in a great location, the pool/tennis facility was well maintained, and the beach is lovely! But the unit itself is definitely in need of maintenance. We stayed the week after Labor Day weekend, so at the tail end of the season, and some wear and tear can be expected. But the maintenance issues went a bit beyond our expectations for a a rental described as a "luxury" town home.

Kitchen: The kitchen is in dire need of updated tools and maintenance... There is only a 4 cup coffee pot, the cooking pans should have been replaced long ago (very tough to make scrambled eggs with totally scratched pans), the silverware is lacking (total of 5 forks), and the cooking tools are very old as well. The dishwasher isn't secured under the cabinet, it lurches out with the door open. A good trip to Ikea or Costco to replace most things would go a long way to make the kitchen more usable.

Living/Bedrooms: the layout of the unit is great, and larger groups have room to spread out. The TV and Internet work very well, as did the gas grill. But again there needs to be more frequent maintenance. Light bulbs all over the house need to be replaced, there are broken lamps spread throughout (some plugged in and missing bulbs), wires and cables everywhere (not great for small children), the window screens have dried out and rotted so they are missing, broken, or have tons of holes. The slider to the patio doesn't lock without a stick. The patio umbrella still sits broken since the last reviewer noted it. Unfortunately the unit has white carpet, which is hard to keep clean. And we agree with previous reviews from this summer that the beds aren't terrible but aren't great either. None of us slept too well.

Baths: The unit has 3 bathrooms. We never saw the top level since the door was locked upon arrival. We did contact the owner who promptly responded, but the suggestion on jiggling, as well as our attempts with screwdrivers didn't work. We never followed up with the owner, since we weren't using the top level. The lower level bath had a broken faucet. And the water it the two lower baths is either cold or scalding. The bath towels are in need of replacement as well.

Overall this unit has so much potential and should not be labeled as "luxury" but more as a "nice value." Hence the review with only 2 stars.

Nice Spot

  • 3 of 5

All in all this was a good place to stay. The location was nice and close to a private beach and fairly close to town. The layout of the house is cool because there are three levels. It makes it easy for people to spread out if they want. It was a little outdated. The stove was crooked and we couldn't cook anything evenly on it. Also it was HOT. We had all the windows open and the fans that they provided and the house was still hot throughout the night. The umbrella for the table outside was also broken which made it hard to sit outside in the middle of the day with the sun blaring on us. There is a huge tree that blocks your view of the lake which was pretty disappointing to me. Also, it states that there are two master bedrooms, but I really do not consider the second "master" a master bedroom. The bathroom was disconnected from the bedroom and was the most used bathroom out of all 3.

We ended up running out of toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags while we were there. I am sure this is not the fault of the owner, but of who ever manages the house. Everything was very clean. At one point we tried to get a hold of the owner because we wanted to buy the UFC fight to watch over the weekend, he never got back to us which was a bummer.

It states that you are a short walk to the beach, but we drove as close as we could and then walked, other wise it would have been about a 10 minute walk with kids and all our beach stuff. So just know that you are not as close as you think you are. The beach is pretty awesome though and it is nice that it is private. They even set up umbrellas and chairs for you when you get there. There is also a company that will deliver kayaks and paddle boards right to the beach for you. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. Just were a little disappointed in the house, especially for the price we paid.

PS. The beds are horribly uncomfortable. Every adult slept like crap. No one mentioned that in any review and I just thought I should mention it.

Not as advertised

  • 1 of 5

This condo is not a "luxury" condo. It needs maintenance. Broken screens, dirty carpets, mildew on shower ceilings, broken beds, splintery deck are a few of the issues. Only one master bedroom with bath. There is a tiny sliver of a view of the Lake from the out side walkway. Also, it is about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The Owner was notified of our concerns and did send over a new outside table to replace a very splintery table 5 days into our stay. The beach is wonderful. Great staff to help set umbrellas and carry chairs. We loved having a place to store our paddle boards on the beach!
