About Marisol Nunez
I am a New York State resident, retired from the State government currently living in Schoharie county. I loved the Adirondacks and all the wonderful things it offers.
Marisol Nunez purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Marisol Nunez chose Caroga Lake
The camp allows for a full enjoyment of a typical Adirondack water front setting. It is private, on a family oriented community, and safe for everyone.
What makes this Cabin unique
The camp provides a beautiful direct view of the lake, and mountains, from the living area, porches and deck. The bow roof makes it feels unique and special. We love to have a fire at night and to look at the starry sky.

Our family really enjoyed our stay there. Thanks Marisol!
Great location and camp
Beautiful lake view and good access to the water. Well stocked kitchen and comfy accommodations. Loved hearing the loons on the lake. Be aware that there are lots of steps to climb up and down from the car to the camp....the only drawback. We had a terrific week.
Great spot in the Adirnondacks
Looking for a nice vacation in the Adirondacks? Lake Caroga is a great spot. We stayed at a little place on the North West end that was cozy and simple. We basically used it as a base as we did many day trips to surrounding towns. However, one could have just stayed there and been on the lake all day kayaking or swimming or just lounging around.
The house was a good size for the 3 of us and had amazing views. I spent on ton of time outside on the first level porch.
The camp had simple furnishings that overall were not terribly comfortable but we didn't really care. If you are specific about such things then well...you won't be satisfied. In the height of summer, the upstairs bedrooms are almost too hot to sleep in so our daughter slept downstairs on the couch.
But overall we had a great time and we made it work. Access to the lake was easy for our inflatable kayak. There are two docks there but they both needed some construction work and one was way to close to the shore so you could dive off of it.
It was a great getaway non the less.
Summer get away
The property was a mess. The driveway going down was stone which made for a very slippery shuffle down the hill. The stairs leading to the house were lose in some places and the handrail was rickety. The waterfront area was
In need of major repairs. The dock had rotten boards and was just wide enough for one person to walk out on. The wood going into the water needed a good power washing it was very slippery and there were metal pipes sticking out of the water. The lake itself had a nice sandy bottom but the leaves, rocks and tree debris has not been cleaned up in some time.
The house.. was ok. No window or fan in the bathroom to vent steam from shower. The bathroom door fell completely off. My son fixed it. A good deep cleaning is needed. Surfaces were clean but there was a collection of dust and grime on areas where plates/bowls were kept along with the “awning” over the kitchen. The front porch was the highlight of the vacation with a nice cool lake breeze.
I am taken back by the guest's comments as I never received such a negative review. The lot were the camp is located is described as hilly, the amount of rain fall for this season has been above average. Therefore, the gravel I put on the driveway has been partially washed away. The steps going down the camp have moved too, but the handrail is very steady. The bathroom does have one window. I am surprised the bathroom door fell off, but it could happen if push hard. The wide of the dock is more than 3 feet which is average for a dock. The camp was professionally cleaned before the guest arrived. I do not take rocks and leaves from the bottom of the lake. The fish population is increasing and I understand this benefit them. The amount of dog hair through out the camp and in the furniture was very high. The camp is described as rustic and the photos showed it. I'm sorry this guests did not like it.
My husband and I just spent a great week here. The camp is so very quaint, and the location right on the lake with the Incredible views through the wall of windows, is just breathtaking. It was very clean and homey feeling. Very rustic by nature, but the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and spices, making it very easy to use effectively. The accommodations were “campy” comfortable and sufficed nicely. The driveway and stairs down to the camp from the driveway are very steep, so it’s important to use caution. Marisol was very quick to assist with fixing the “cable” issues on day one., and make sure that things were good for us. A little hidden gem that worth more than one visit to. So very relaxing and peaceful. Not particularly “kid friendly” and safe in the dock area or spiral staircase (or the stairs down from the driveway), just something to keep in mind. I wouldn’t call it handicap accessible either.
