Perfect little getaway for 2!
Great rental cottage for 2 people to unwind, rejuvenate, and relax. Outdoor space was my favorite. We spent each evening enjoying a glass of wine, while watching the sunset. You have a decent view of the mountain behind the neighborhood and the sun sets in that direction, making for quite a nice show.
The cottage has everything you need for relaxing. Bed is comfortable--plenty of pillow and blanket options. We never turned on the tv, but it does have a nice seating area and tv. Kitchen is basic with fridge and microwave--exactly what we needed as I was taking vacation from cooking as well.
Location is perfect. Close to center of town, restaurants and grocery stores. There is even a brewery in walking distance of the cottage. Use the grocery store card on the cottage's key ring--we saved quite a bit on our snacks and wine (the discount card is for Basha's grocery, which is very close to the cottage).
The cottage is right behind the main house which can be rented by other travelers. We did have 2 couples staying in the main house while we were there, but it worked out perfectly. They were very friendly and we were able to each enjoy our accomodations without bothering the each other.
Overall, a great experience and we would rent again next time we are in Sedona.
The property is in a good location in West Sedona, close to grocery stores, restaurants and trail heads. It was clean and tidy. It is located below another property so the blinds on that side were kept closed for privacy by us. Bed was comfortable and shower worked well.
Hi Dana, thanks for traveling with us! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your time at Enchanted Cottage and we appreciate your review! If there is anything we could do to create a five-star experience going forward, we'd love your feedback. Thanks again! Best, the Evolve Team
Perfect for two
Before arriving I contacted the the owner with a special request. The owner not only accommodated the request but was very quick to respond to all communications.
We arrived and found the property to be clean and exactly as described and depicted in the photos. The main room is large and has plenty of room for two adults. The bathroom is also comfortably sized and nicely adorned. The room has a standard door at one end and French doors at the other which open fully to the patio area. The room also has four windows and one window in the bathroom. Not only does the space feel open and airy but is conducive to cross ventilation.
The patio is very comfortable and has a great view of the mountain above the Sugarloaf Trail and also of Coffee Pot Rock. The main house is approximately 8-9’ higher than the “cottage” and sits back by 25’ while the patio for the main house sits directly above the patio for the cottage. Two different sets of guests were in the main house during our stay and the proximity of the upper patio had no effect on the comfort of our stay.
We also brought our two small dogs (less than 15lbs each) and they really enjoyed hanging out on the patio. The cottage has a stone or tile floor so it’s also dog-friendly.
The location is wonderful. You have all of the access to 89A and West Sedona while being far enough back to not hear the traffic. The grocery store (Basha’s) is less than a mile away and the Sugarloaf trailhead is a few minute car-ride or 15-minute walk through a great neighborhood.
We thoroughly enjoyed this property and would stay here again. It is a well-priced gem as a better alternative to many hotels in the same area.
Clean and cozy, perfect for some but not all
We were extremely happy with our stay at this cottage. It is clean and cozy, with a nice location in West Sedona, lovely view from the patio, and excellent responsiveness from the property manager. We were would stay there again.
Be aware, however, of a couple of limitations that you need to prepare for. The bathroom is a nice size, has shampoo and liquid soap by the sink, but bring your own bar soap. The large dining table is outside on the patio. Our visit coincided with a rare snowstorm. Without the outdoor seating, we made do using two stools and a tiny kitchen cart for a table. The kitchen has utensils, plates, but only a microwave and a coffee pot. Bring your own everything —coffee, tea, spices, salt, pepper, etc. There is an outdoor gas BBQ, but it adjacent to the other unit, right in front of it’s view. Even though it is designated as common area, we at least, did not comfortable using it with the other unit occupied.
Could use a few more things...
The property is quaint, however it could REALLY use some things. The 2 chairs in the corner are very uncomfortable and they are right under the tv so you can't watch tv from them. The place needs a extra luggage table to the right of the free standing closet for putting suitcase and things on. We really could have used a toaster! The heater, when turned on, above the bed makes strange rattling sounds all night. The shower needs a new drainer because my shower filled up with 3 inches of water and it was because, the drain doesn't function properly.
Another thoughtful thing to do is have Sedona magazines and Sedona info in the place for visitors! We looked on the internet but even just a map would be so helpful. Other than these things its a good basic property for one or 2 people. Close to town.
Teresa, thank you for this feedback! The Enchanted Cottage is a studio so, in order to maximize space, the homeowner selected lightweight chairs and ottomans to allow guests to easily move them to the center of the room when viewing the television. We really appreciate your other suggestions and have shared them with the homeowner for further consideration. Thank you again - we hope to host you again soon! Best, The Evolve Team
Perfect weekend romantic getaway!
This secret little gem is the perfect romantic getaway spot for any couple looking to escape for a few days. The property is nestled back in a quiet neighborhood with amazing views. Just far enough away from the touristy strip but close enough to drive into town to take in the Sedona attractions. My husband and I spent 4 days and 3 nights here and felt it was perfect for what we needed, we’ll definitely be back!
