Over advertised

  • 3 of 5

Overall, the house met our needs. However there were 2 main things that we found issue with that would keep us from renting this home again. First, the house does not sleep 16 as advertised. It sleeps 12 in bedrooms and 2 on a pull out couch which was so uncomfortable they slept on the upstairs couch. Misrepresenting the amount of sleeping space is unfair to the group!

Secondly, and more importantly, the outdoor grill was not maintained properly and thus we had to put out a grease fire when we attempted to cook hamburgers! This is highly dangerous! There was also no propane so we had to supply our own, that we then couldn’t use because there was so much grease in the trap and on the grill grates.

The email check in instructions also differed from the houses guest book instructions. Finally, just as a thought, if a house sleeps that many people an actual coffee pot would be much appreciated over the Keurig.

The location is great, the views are awesome.

  • 4 of 5

Overall the house is great as views and location is perfect. Kitchen could use a toaster and the grounds around the house need a little cleaning up. Not much to complain about and we would stay again. Fireplace(s) is awesome, layout, bedrooms, etc are all great for couples and great for kids 7-17 to hang on one floor as adults hang on the other.

Very spacious. Great location! Not for kids

  • 3 of 5

This is a typical rustic ski cabin with a beautiful view of a lake and very close to Hunter mountain. Cabin has an exception amount of space, and was overall very cozy. I would only recommend this house for adults and older children as the stairs, loft railing and deck railing are very dangerous for young kids. We were nervous our entire trip because my 2 year old could easily climb/fall through the large slats on the railings. The house is definitely not updated, and I agree had some code issues. The space and location was what made me rate this house 3 stars.

Some things to note:

Coffee machine is a Keurig (we didn’t bring k-cups)

There is no toaster

There are technically 3 showers but the upstairs shower is not usable

The dishwasher is broken/on backorder

Grill had no propane

Owner's Response: Hi Britni, Thanks for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay overall, especially the warmth of the space and location. We apologize for the things you noted that negatively affected your stay. The homeowner is actively addressing each concern and wants to make sure all guests have the best experience possible. The upstairs shower is working, there is a toaster in the kitchen and propane for the grill. The dishwasher will arrive soon. Please do bring K-Cups next time! Thanks again for your feedback, as it helps us make improvements that will benefit future guests! Best, The Evolve Team

Very disappointed and over charged

  • 1 of 5

House is not in great shape, pictures are very misleading. We found out the smoke detectors and carbon dioxide detectors did not work. We had several young children staying in the house, this house has some serious code issues. How can a landlord rent a house to families with out checking the smoke/carbon detectors. Drawers in the kitchen fell out when you opened them.

Dining room light did not work, the bulbs actually burned the holder. The light switch was taped over so we could not turn on the light. All they had to do was change the light.Basement lower level patio door does not have a lock, piece of metal was lodged in between doors to stop the door from sliding. the main floor sliding door has a very small lock on the under portion of the handle which is impossible to open. The house need a ton of work , the rental fees are way to expensive. I would recommend code enforcement to inspect the house.
