3 bedroom, 2 bath with hiking and wildlife viewing
About Livia McCauslin
We began building TinRoofSundae Cabin in 2014, intent on creating a comfortable and memorable getaway for our family of six. We completed the cabin in the fall of 2017 and are excited to share it with our guests. We hope that you find our spot as special as we do!
Livia McCauslin purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Livia McCauslin chose Marceline
Our family purchased the Brush Creek North property in 2010. With four young sons who were just beginning to show an interest in hunting and fishing, we knew it was perfect for us.
What makes this Cabin unique
With its unique combination of native timber, grasslands, and soil makeup, the property is a "sweet spot" for habitat improvement. We have actively managed the property since 2010. By partnering with the Missouri Department of Conservation(MDC) and the Department of Natural Resources (NRCS), we have developed trails, improved wildlife habitat, performed timber stand improvements, and, in 2017, restored wetland habitat. In 2015, we became the first Missouri landowner to participate in the Missouri Recreational Access Program (MRAP). This program opened up private property for public recreational activities. Wildlife viewing and hiking are available at the cabin site. For maps and additional information about our properties (Brush Creek North and Brush Creek South Tracts) or the MRAP program, check out the Missouri Department of Conservation website:

Great place for several families
My boys said I should give this place 5 and 1/2 stars. They really enjoyed sharing the bunk room with their cousins. We will book here again the next time we are in the area. Hopefully the weather will be better and we can explore the property more. We had a large group (three families), and there was room for everyone.
I would consider adding a night light or two. Then mom would also give it 5 and 1/2 stars.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit! You will definitely have to return to try and get better weather! Thanks for staying!
Relaxing girls weekend!
What a great getaway! We had a fantastic time enjoying each other‘s company. We loved the porches and spent a fair amount of time there. The cabin was awesome and had everything we needed.
I am so glad you and your sisters enjoyed your stay! You are welcome back for another girls' weekend anytime! - Livia
We had a family getaway and enjoyed every minute of it!! The house and property was beautiful and very well kept! Wish it hadn't rained as much as it did, but very thankful there were covered decks on the front and back to still enjoy the outdoors....we will definitely be back!!
Thanks so much for choosing to stay at our little "sweet spot!" We definitely hope you will be back for a return visit!
Excellent cabin getaway on a beautiful property. Very relaxing
We booked this cabin for an anniversary retreat. It was just what we needed, a quiet place to get away from the busy life and relax. The cabin is a beauty to look at in it's unique construction. Incredibly spacious with plenty of outdoor area for our dogs to run around.
There is a forest preserve adjacent to the property but we did not venture there due to it being chilly and windy. We only stayed 3 nights and wished we'd booked a few more. Will be back when it's warmer out. Thanks for the great vacation at your rental.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit! We'd love to have you back for another visit!
Idyllic Missouri Getaway Spot
This home was perfect for a reunion of twelve of us to get together for the weekend. We played music, sat around the campfire, swam in the pond, and cooked out on the grill. The space was perfect for our large group and we felt we had plenty of room. Never had a rainy day, but the cabin was full of DVDs and games just in case! Thank you so much for accommodating our large group!
I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay! Come back soon!
Great family get away.
We loved the cabin. It had everything we needed. Loved the large master bath. The only thing I would say is that the fishing didn’t even get nibbles. We tried every kind of bait out there. The owners were super accommodating and even offered another more established pond they had 3 miles away, however we opted to not take that route. We would absolutely stay here again. It rained several days and it was very peaceful. Loved the back porch and all the windows. We had a beautiful pair of red white and black woodpeckers that came daily, and a cute little squirrel we named Alvin. Wonderful cabin in the woods. I only gave 4 stars due to the fishing.....otherwise 5 Star all the way.
I know the fishing was a disappointment during your stay - I wish I could have guaranteed at least a few bites! Thanks for staying!
Hunters can take advantage of public hunting access on the Mussel Fork Conservation Area less than a mile west of the cabin.
During your visit, head into town for an early morning cup of coffee at the Marceline Cafe. Be sure to take a walk down Main Street USA and visit beautiful Ripley Park. Be sure to visit the Walt Disney Hometown Museum, where visitors are treated to a unique collection of Disney family effects. After your tour, head over to Ma Vic's Corner Cafe for lunch. Antique lovers, or those just looking for that unique souvenir, will want to take a peek inside Magnolia Antiques.
Be sure to check out the new Marceline Swimming Pool (fully enclosed during the winter months) or take a brisk walk on the paved path around the Disney Complex: playground, park, and lake.
Check out the Marceline website for local festivals and attractions.
