The Aska Outdoors cabin is every bit a cabin with 100% tongue & groove walls and ceilings, a D log exterior and nestled on a heavily wooded ridge in the famed Aska Adventure area just outside Blue Ridge, GA. Within 15 minutes or less you can start hiking the Aska USFS Trails, fish, go tubing or kayak in the Toccoa River, stand on the shore of Blue Ridge Lake, cycle some challenging mountain roads or just sit back and enjoy the fresh mountain air and scenery. All that said, Domino's delivers to the cabin.
The cabin was built with comfort and energy efficiency in mind: double glazed windows, central heat and air for year-round comfort, eight ceiling fans to fine tune your comfort level, a gas log fireplace and new (late 2017) gas range & dishwasher. A 49” Roku enabled 4k HDR TV is situated in the living room along with two 90” sofas; the dining room easily sits six; the terrace level has a bedroom and bath and a separate small entertainment room with dartboard & flatscreen HDTV. The third floor has a loft with 8’ air hockey table and a spacious bath. Outside, the terrace level has a gas BBQ, fire pit, extended terrace and access to the one acre “backyard.” Sit by the fire pit and be amazed by the incredible sky of millions of stars. The 2nd level has a screened porch (28’x10’) with table and chairs for fair weather sitting and meals and the front of the house has a 28’ sitting porch. The bedrooms on the Terrace level and 3rd floor/loft have full over full bunk beds and the bedroom on the 2nd level has a king size bed.
Very good 4G LTE cell service is available for the major carriers, 100mb fiber optic internet service, WiFi (2g & 5g) and DishTV with HBO. Cabin management includes an Ecobee WiFi thermostat, WiFi controlled water heater and WiFi whole house energy monitoring.
Within 15 minutes (6.2 miles), or less, outdoor adventures are easily accessible as are downtown Blue Ridge stores & restaurants, Blue Ridge Marina, Ingles, CVS, Home Depot, Walmart and lots more. Within 20 minutes you can add Ziplines, Tank Town, Mercier (apple) Orchards and the nearby towns of Ellijay and Blairsville. The cabin is situated on a short, dead-end lane on a ridge line in an enclave with five other cabins which no traffic noise – just peace and quiet begging for an afternoon snooze. You’ll have no problem seeing loads of wildlife – deer, rabbits, possum and, maybe, bears. We have a mother and cub in the neighborhood but we leave them alone and they do the same. Do NOT, under any circumstance, leave food out and if you see a bear, quietly and calmly move away.
Access to the cabin is via good roads easily traveled by any passenger automobile.
