Why David Robinson chose West Philadelphia
Location is better than downtown. You are near many shops, bars, movie theater and restaurants less than a mile away and downtown is only about 2 miles away.
What makes this House unique
Location, 4k tv and cable tv.

The second we turned on the street I knew we were in for trouble. Not a safe part of town by any means, boarded up homes a couple doors down. Proceeded to the unit despite immediate reservations. Upon opening the front door your instantly greeted by the smell of death or in this case cat urine. The smell persists throughout the entire unit. Cleanliness is an issue as well in bathroom and kitchen with built up grime and filth. All theses factors considered my family and I put the key back in the lockbox and immediately headed for a hotel. Owner of unit refused to consider refunding my money despite the obvious issues. Also HomeAway accepts no responsibility for the condition of these falsely advertised units. Horrible experience and would never recommend this service to anyone looking for low cost lodging. Spend the extra money on a good hotel.
2 Sides to every story:
1. Guest arrived at noon. Check-in time is 3pm. Property was not ready yet. This property has always been rated highly for cleaniness on all sites its listed on.
2. This is by far one of the safest neighborhoods in the city. Check online or google etc. Very false statement.
3. No one has ever reported smells etc. ever since ive had this property listed for almost a year now.
*If early check-in is not confirmed dont show up thinking your still going to check-in early. The property was not ready for your arrival. I assure once property was fully cleaned you would of not have been dissapointed.
Fit all of our needs perfectly
Very spacious 2 bedroom apartment, had more than enough room to accommodate the four of us and my dog. Parking off street was a great benefit. Great location, not the heart of the city but a perfect home base if staying for an event, and an easy drive/Uber to get anywhere you desire. The Spicy Belly is a really cool restaurant nearby I would highly recommend. Comfortable and clean, nice TV's. GGG beat Canelo. I had both of their fights 115-113 in favor of GGG.
Checking in and out was very simple with a lock box. Host accessible by call or text. We had a great weekend in Philly and David's apartment here was a great place to stay!
Substandard, not clean, many things broken.
Beware: there is a reason there aren't many pictures listed! This is the top floor of a 3 story building, with shared entrance to another residence. The cleaning was poorly done, there is dust everywhere, and layers of built up mildew in the bathroom. The bathroom was not updated, had poor lighting, no plugs, and the sink faucet was so loose it felt barely attached. The water in the shower took forever to reach a warm temperature and was extremely temperamental to adjust. The bath linens were dingy and old—bad enough that we went and bought towels from the nearby Target.
The tiny kitchen had multiple floor tiles broken, with one tile being so broken that my children could remove entire sections of tile. This was a safety hazard! Don't walk in the kitchen barefoot! The kitchen smelled foul, and we saw a rodent cross the floor. There were place settings for 6 in most dishes, but only 4 spoons, and one of those was a mini spoon (smaller than a teaspoon). They did offer a small microwave, crock pot, and coffee maker.
The bedrooms had very old plug outlets, not grounded. The blinds in every single window were ill-fitting and BROKEN; some would not open or tilt, many had slats broken off in the middle. The mattress in the master bedroom was so old and thin that the springs would stick through the cover. There was no mattress pad so just a thin sheet separates you from the mattress. The sheets were mismatched. The pull out couches were cheap foam, fold over couches. Lamps were missing bulbs, others don't work.
The laundry facility was filthy and located in the basement, 2 flights of stairs away, and not private or secured (shared with the other resident). The larger side of the shared garage (also in basement) was occupied, so you'd need a pretty small car if you wanted to park there. We did not. The owner advertised that there was plenty of availability to park on the street in front of the residence. Of the 5 nights we stayed here, we could only park in front of the residence twice. All other times, the street parking was full and we had to park down the street where the car was not visible from the apartment.
There were 3 good sized TV's (no DVD or BluRay player). There was some limited cable, but much of it required a login, which we did not have. The living space had a few freestanding lamps and a mirror leaning against the wall (unattached) which was a hazard for children. The couches seemed to be relatively new, but that's the extent of the pro's.
Really one star. This must be your first rental property.
1. Its a 2 story buidling (false)
2. Built up mildew is a lie. The bathroom was cleaned compelety with Mr. Clean.
3. The tile is slightly cracked from a recent previous guest. That is an easy fix, but not as extreme as your making it seem.
4. The blinds you pull down with your hands. I plan on replacing all blinds asap but guests keep breaking them.
5. I stated to you in the instructions the garage can fit a car and not a big car or truck and you have the option to park in front of the garage. There is always a parking space.
6.No DVD or blu-ray was never advertised or required.
7. Cable tv has almost all regular channels. Premium channels are not required.
8. No one has ever seen or reported. Rodent in the 8 months this property has been listed.
9. Those mattresses are only 8 months old. Were bought brand new when the property was furnished.
*Went a bit overboard with your rating and review. At anytime you could of called if you had any issues.
It was nice ,comfortable the kids enjoyed it
The property was very nice
Overall disappointing. Partially upgraded - much substandard
Looking at the photos we were looking forward to our stay. Upon arrival we found it was only partially upgraded with significant deficiencies. There was no grounded electricity (3-hole plugs), no outlets in the bathroom, microwave didn't work, lights in the hall were burned out, garage door didn't work well, the blinds were torn and did not block the light, and the bed sheets were torn. Kitchen was tiny, and not upgraded. That being said, great big-screen TV's, nice leather couches.
So stylish inside.
This is an older house with modern decorations. There's a large tv in each room with all the cable channels, plenty of space to relax and sleeping for at least 8. Mr David is a true gem. He went over and beyond to make my first time visiting Philly a wiondeful memory. I will be back as soon as possible.
Shops are everywhere. From Saxs Fifth Avenue to Target are all less than a mile away.
