Spirit of the Pines property is part of a former 200+ acre ranch known as Signal Rock Ranches. Our cabin has a spectacular view of Pikes Peak-America's Mountain.
This 2 bedroom/1 bath cabin is a perfect getaway for all nature enthusiasts!
The natural beauty of our Spirit of the Pines property is awe inspiring with wild life abound including deer, elk, bear, coyotes, eagles, hawks, and lots of birds.
My husband and I both grew up in the southern states. Our dream was to move to Colorado. Dream fulfilled!!!
Angela Strong purchased this cabin in 2010
Our family chose to purchase this property because of the majestic views of America's Mountain-Pikes Peak.
The road to our property is a beautiful 3-mile drive from the highway with views of mountains and wildlife.
Our property feels like you are not near civilization, but you are within 30 minutes to 2 hours for most attractions.
We enjoyed hiking and fishing in the area and we were thinking about extending our stay but since the weather has been unstable and rainy we decided to continue our trip. We had a really nice stay at your cabin and saw a lot of wild life :-)
Thank you and all the best for you and your family,
My wife and I were very pleased with every aspect of the cabin. The road is a bit longer than expected, but it soon added to the charm of the location. Which, by the way, is located close to so many great Colorado sites! It was exactly what we were looking for and a great retreat. Angela is kind and thoughtful, and I can't wait to go back!
This cabin is perfect! We were driving back and forth to BSA Camp Alexander every day and hoped to have a safe place to sleep but this cabin delivered so much more. The owner had created a personalized folder with cabin and surrounding area information. She was located onsite and could not have been more wonderful. I strongly recommend renting this cabin if you're looking for a peaceful lodging experience with wildlife. Heavenly!
Our family of 5 had a nice stay at this location. It was quiet, clean and as advertised. The owner was accommodating and worked with us with a non-typical arrival time. This location is somewhat remote but is well within 30 minutes-1hr of a lot of really nice destinations. We saw quite a bit of wildlife on the drive to the cabin including Elk, Deer, Coyotes and 2 bears. Very reasonable drive distance to Garden of the Gods, Cripple Creek, Pike's Peak, Florissant fossil beds, Cave of the winds, rafting in Canon City and other nice family visits.
The only items I would mention for an honest review are that in addition to the nightly rate, you should be aware of a $100 cleaning fee, $100 "damage insurance", and $10/night/person over 2 people. As mentioned in other reviews, this cabin is directly next to the owner's home, but we only saw them once and they were very pleasant and it wasn't an issue at all with our stay. We were able to access the property in the summer with a minivan, but it might be tougher other times of year, with a small car or for people with limited experience driving off pavement. I would avoid Fiesta Mexicana in Woodland Park, expensive-slow-mediocre food. We also experienced an hour and 20 minute wait for 1 pizza at AJ's Stone Over Pizzaria, but the pizza was fine.
It's a clean cabin with modern facilities, close enough to destinations to make this a nice place for a family to stay.
Exceptional stay. Expectations were exceeded. Owner was accommodating, and did an excellent job of preparing the cabin for our stay, with everything prepared to first class standards. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a place in this area.
I am in love with this beautiful cabin! It's well kept, very clean, and everything you need, it's there. To top it off, you wake up to deers just outside your window. Such an awesome experience, the scenery was amazing.
We reserved this cabin to spend Christmas with my son and his wife. We had a wonderful time. The cabin had all of the basics that we needed and was nice and clean. The owners were very nice and accommodating, she even left us muffins and snacks for our arrival. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed watching the wildlife. We saw rabbits, deer (right outside our door), bobcats, wolves and coyotes. We will return in the future!
