There really is no better location in Minneapolis. Surrounded by Tudor, Victorian and Colonial mansions
we are close to downtown with easy access to the highway. Streets are quiet and tree lined. After visiting
Kenwood or Loring Park and the famous Claus Oldenburg sculpture of a spoon with a cherry enjoy
brunch or dinner at 'The Kenwood', a great 'farm-to-table' eatery. For a special night book a table at nearby 'La Belle Vie,' Minneapolis' premiere fine dining spot. The local favorite, 'The Wedge,' is the best food co-op in Minneapolis. Bike down the Kenilworth trail to the hip warehouse district.
A bus runs from the Walker to the rest of the city. A car is required for trips to the suburbs.
I am a New Yorker that moved to Minneapolis this winter.
Eliza purchased this apartment in 2013
This duplex combines all the attractions of urban living with a wooded surrounding. The location is easy to live without a car. You can walk or bike to restaurants, Minneapolis' fantastic co-op and downtown or uptown. The two apartments are large, well-designed and feature as much space as many houses. I love the classic Arts and Crafts details like the box beamed ceiling, leaded glass windows, unpainted woodwork and built-in buffet. Being across from a great bike path and seconds from the sculpture garden is amazing.
-Well cared for
Everything about our stay was perfect! The location could not have been any better for attending our conference at the Walker Art Center. The house is beautiful and quite spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed, comfy beds, and great sitting areas. Eliza was there when we arrived, told us about nearby food stores (The Wedge was great), and made us feel very welcome.
We loved this property. It was in a beautiful neighborhood, close to the bike path, and within walking distance of great restaurants and places to see in Minneapolis. Furniture and beds were comfy. We spent much time playing games and enjoying great conversation in the dining room. The sculpture garden is literally across the street (but it is closed now for construction). Rental bikes are within easy walking distance. We navigated our way around the lakes and downtown on bikes and really enjoyed the experience. Bike paths and bike lanes made this easy. We were able to walk to a grocery store (The Wedge) where we found all we needed as well as many great restaurants within 1-2 miles. Eliza was very responsive before our stay - and we did not have need to contact her during our visit. The property was as described, and even more spacious than we expected (three bedrooms, full dining room, spacious kitchen, spacious living room, small sitting area. We were a group of 4 visiting for a girls weekend. There was still bed space for at least 2 others. I would definitely stay here again.
This is a spacious apartment with comfortable beds and good location. Walking distance from parks. At the moment nearby sculpture park is under construction. Lots of basic supplies in the kitchen. Good option for families. We were there on hot summer days and air conditioning coped well.
Be aware that Eliza only sends out instructions for getting in the day before arrival.
We've stayed all over the Twin Cities and this is the second time in a row we have chosen this property. It is spacious, comfortable, and located pretty much in the middle of absolutely everything we want to do. Both units are great, but I now prefer the additional, tiny sitting room upstairs. Eliza was very responsive to our needs and we will stay here again.
We've stayed in this unit twice for events in Minneapolis. We were very pleased both times.
The property is in a nice part of town. I found the apt to be clean, beds comfortable,, nice kitchen. I found the apt quiet, no road or neighbor noise compliants. Overall adequate.
Place has not been updated. Old dingy feel., esp dinning room. Needs new paint. Lots of space, but only one bathroom. Not adequate for a family. Old hardwood floors squeky esp in front bedroom.
AC is Window units in bedrooms, loud. One portable floor AC unit in living room, loud. 7 steep stairs to front door. Minor maintenance issues need attention.
We (2 adults and 3 kids) stayed for 4 nights while I was attending a meeting downtown. The weather was perfect in early May and I was able to walk home from the conference most afternoons/evenings via the Loring Greenway. I'm not sure if this route will be impacted by the impending construction at the Sculpture Garden but even if you have to drive it is very easy access to downtown. The neighborhood is gorgeous and so is the house. Plenty of space and the beds were very comfortable. This is the upper floor apartment and the laundry is in the basement so if stairs are a problem you probably want to check out the first floor apartment. The window and portable AC units were in the closets because it wasn't hot enough yet during the day to need them and the heat kept the space plenty warm when it was cold overnight. My wife said this is her favorite VRBO stay with the kids to date (this is the 4th or 5th time we've gotten a VRBO while on vacation) and I'd have to agree. Highly recommended!
Lowry Hill is the most exclusive and beautiful neighborhoods in Minneapolis. Walk down tree-lined streets with classic mansions to Lake of the Isles. Walk the other direction to downtown and the convention center. This private enclave is home to the wealthiest folks in Minneapolis. It is close to shopping and restaurants with lots of access to parks.
