South Lake Tahoe vacation rentals don’t get more unique than this three bedroom getaway with a private hot tub!
Featuring a cool reverse floor plan, the Mountain Peak Chalet will have your lucky group enjoying modern amenities, stylish decor, an amazing great room, and an unbeatable location. And for skiers, the neighborhood could not be better -- it's just two blocks away from Heavenly's California Lodge.
All three cheerfully decorated bedrooms are located on the first floor of this house. The first has a king-size bed, an iPod dock, and access to deck overlooking the open yard. Keep the sliding glass door ajar for a nice, cool breeze at night.
The queen bedroom features a rustic wood slat headboard and also has sliding glass doors out to the deck. The third bedroom is really fun with two sets of stylized timber beam bunk beds. Kids will definitely love this room! The three bedrooms in the house will sleep eight comfortably.
The downstairs also has a newly remodeled full bathroom with a modern color scheme and a large hanging artisan mirror. Also on this level, there are a number of closets for storage, and a washer and dryer so you can keep everyone in clean, warm socks.
Step out to the lower level deck for a real treat: the brand-new private hot tub! You'll even be able to listen to your favorite playlist as you soak, as this luxurious spa has built-in speakers connected to the home's Sonos music system.
Head upstairs and you will really see what this home has to offer! A giant, open great room with a round gas fireplace right in the middle is the star alongside tall, slanted ceilings, and a lot of windows for natural light. Facing towards large sliding glass doors to another deck are comfortable sofas. Entertainment amenities throughout the house include WiFi and a DVD library.
On the other side of the fireplace is the dining area with table seating for six. Of course, there's always additional seating around the fireplace! The full kitchen is bright and has everything needed for meals. There's even a French press coffee maker. There's also a gas grill, so a summer barbecue will definitely be on your vacation agenda.
This floor also features a fabulous game room. Here you'll find giant, colorful bean bag chairs, a foosball table, a 26-inch TV with a DVD, and ROKU. There are large picture windows in this part of the space as well, so outdoor views are all around.
The upstairs also has a recently remodeled full bathroom with beautiful stone tile work on the floors and tub/shower walls, as well artistic touches throughout.
For outdoor adventurers, enjoy speeding down the slopes at Heavenly Ski Resort, less than half a mile away. But it's not just for cold weather fun, in the summer, there's more. All of South Lake Tahoe has so many things to offer, all just within a couple of miles -- world-class casinos, entertainment, fine and casual dining, lake cruises, and beach activities. There's also rock climbing, mountain biking, and golfing close by.
For a great getaway with family and friends alike, this Mountain Peak Chalet will provide a great home base for exploring the area or just taking advantage of all the features inside the house.

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We stayed for a long weekend to get some snow time for the kids, but we wound up spending the entire time indoors due to them getting the 24hr flu that was going around.
What was really good:
The property was great for kids - the kids loved the bunk beds, and the king & queen beds worked well. The house stayed warm, and the circular fireplace is fantastic. I really liked how the house was laid out. There were also a lot of toys for the kids to play with, and they loved romping on the giant beanbags.
Make sure you come prepared for technology - we hooked up to the home's wireless and used the sonos via our phones. The roku remote was kind of busted, so we had to operate it via the phone app as well, but were able to get Netflix shows for keeping the kids entertained. So, for ease of use, make sure you have both apps downloaded to your phone/tablet before arriving.
The hottub was AMAZING and well situated on the deck between the two master bedrooms.
What could have been better:
I was a little bummed that the arcade games weren't working - it looks like they'd crashed, maybe check before reserving. Also the front left burner on the stove wasn't working, so we had to get a little creative with the stovetop cooking.
Overall I'm definitely keeping this place on the short list for when we come back to Tahoe.
We loved staying at the house. Our nights consisted of gathering around the fireplace, playing the games, and talking, drinking wine.
We were a group of two couples and 3 single adults and the bedroom set up worked well for us. We found it easy to coordinate using the 2 bathrooms among the 7 of us. Overall we had a great time and would definitely stay again.
There was a lot of entertainment for us to use at the house. In the grand scheme of things, the house did not matter that much to us as we were in Tahoe so we were outside as much as we could be. Would really recommend Mt. Tallac hike.
Overall the home was a little bit dirty, but we weren't expecting it to be the cleanest place in the world. It had a lot of entertainment upstairs and was well worth the price tag. I have to be honest, the decor was a little weird with a lot of Stephen King novels lying around, a full dragon costume in a closet, and a nude skiing art piece. Other than that, it was great.
This house is awesome and has everything you could need for a comfortable stay in Tahoe. There are so many games, surround sound in the house and hot tub, and just overall the most comfortable stay. I have stayed here more than once and look forward to returning!
If you want a large open layout where lots of people can move around and socialize in the living area, this is a great house. It has lots of bean bags, blankets and is very laid back. It has a great gas fireplace right in the middle. Possibly not the best choice for a large group of older folks who might not be comfortable on giant beanbags but great for kids. The kitchen is a bit old and doesn't have a ton of counter space but it is well stocked with cookware. The bedrooms downstairs are a bit cramped but very comfortable. The location is great - just don't think you are going to actually walk to Heavenly.
