Located in Waialua, the Bamboo Bungalow is near the North Shore and Haleiwa. It is tucked away quietly off the road, in a friendly beach side neighborhood. The private walk way leading to the entrance is lined with plants as well as the whole property being surrounded by beautiful foliage. The Bamboo Bungalow has all the amenities one would need while on holiday. It has a fully stocked kitchen along with coffee maker, microwave oven, large refrigerator, 2 hot plates and toaster oven. The Bamboo Bungalow is a very short walk to a quiet local beach park. The beach park has restrooms, picnic tables and beach side showers. Don't be surprised when you find that you have the beach all to yourself during certain times of the day. The beach houses a nest of sea turtles that you can see better while snorkeling. This beach is a safe and a beautiful place for a romantic late night stroll. Let Bamboo Bungalow be the place for your perfect retreat!
We stayed here for a week on a work trip. My assistant and my seven month old baby were with us. It worked out just fine. I slept on the queen futon in the living room in my assistant slept in the bedroom. We had a travel pack and play for the baby. Although the quarters are small it has everything you need and is very clean and tidy. The beach nearby is great for swimming. It is a nice quiet part of Oahu.
This property was exactly what we needed for our honeymoon. It was very quiet and clean. The property itself was easy to find, parking was simple and on property, and the owner was very helpful with any questions we had. It was close to the beach/park (short walk through a neighborhood). The beach itself was great, we saw turtles and it was a very good spot for stargazing and watching the sunset. The owners provided plenty of towels, a washer and dryer in the unit, ice+fridge, shampoo/conditioner, and 4 fans that you could move around the unit in case you got hot during the night (we didn't, but having fans available is nice. There is also a ceiling fan in the main room if you need it). The AC also worked fine, since the unit is rather small the AC could reach the bedroom no problem. The owner also provided boogie boards, beach towels, an ice box, and bikes that we could use, as well as two TV's with cable and a microwave. Another perk is the unit is close to town, so going to dinner or other beaches was a quick 10 minute trip north. Furthermore, only 10 minutes away from the property is North Shore Shark Adventures, which was a fantastic experience that my husband and I greatly enjoyed. There is another unit above the Bamboo unit, as well as the owner who lives in a separate unit across from the Bamboo Bungalow. However, despite other people being around we never really saw or heard them, and felt like we had the whole property to ourselves. Lastly, the owner refunded our damage deposit quickly after our stay, and the price for the Bamboo Bungalow is hard to beat.
I wish we had been able to stay longer, and we definitely would come back!!!
The only thing that could be considered a "con" is that because of the tropical climate and the nature of the islands there are insects around, so if you have some sort of bug phobia that may be an issue for you. The unit was extremely clean, and there were bug traps and a bug screen on the door to keep them out. However, with any place on Hawaii, stray mosquitoes or other small bugs may be present around your living space (nothing gross though, no roaches or anything like that! Just a couple pillbugs that came in when we were moving stuff in most likely). This was not an issue for us at all, but again, if you hate bugs stay away from traveling to places like Hawaii- they are around due to the climate, even in the nicest of buildings and homes.
We had a lovely stay Bamboo Bungalow. It was small & cozy but had EVERYTHING needed for a comfortable stay. Beach access very close by. A great getaway from the Honolulu scene. If you're looking for quiet & calm then you've found it. Would stay there again In a heartbeat.
The place was small but comfortable and had all the things we needed to enjoy our vacation. We went for bike rides through the pretty neighborhoods every evening and spent most days at nearby beaches. It worked out great for us, and we recommend it as as a nice place to stay.
The Bamboo Bungalow was perfect! It was in very good condition and was even nicer than portrayed the pictures. While it is a small space, it has quality furnishings and has been well stocked with helpful utensils, products, and beach towels etc. It is neat, clean, and is in a good location for exploring the North Shore. Thank you, Brienn!
My husband, son and I stayed here for three nights in November. It was a great little spot for us. Staying on the North Shore was perfect for us and so much better than the busyness of Waikiki. Everyone was very helpful to us, pointing out different spots to visit, including a spot to snorkel where we saw three large turtles just off the shore! Awesome! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because with a baby and the portacot set up, it was a little on the small side, but all in all it was fantastic!

Waialua is full of activities. Skydiving, snorkeling, surfing, swimming, hiking/walking, and even beach side polo matches. Kaena point albatross refuge and monk seal viewing is a highlight. Sunset catamaran rides or if in season the whale watching tour is amazing. There is something for everyone on the north shore.
