Perfect for short or long stays for travelers to Downtown Austin.
The Condo is located on Historic Sixth Street, formerly known as Pecan Street, in Downtown Austin, Texas, just two blocks east of Congress Avenue. The Condo is ONE BLOCK away from the Austin Convention Center.
You can watch all the action on the busiest block. From this spot on Sixth Street you are obviously directly in the center of the Sixth Street Entertainment District and both the Red River Music District and the Warehouse District on 4th street are about three blocks walking distance to the east or west.
The condo has high wood beam ceilings, exposed 125 year old stone walls, and a full kitchen with tile counters and custom appliances. There are 4 bedrooms with queen beds, and 2 full bathrooms. The square footage is about 1000 square feet. The living room has a sofa and love seat and 4 bar stools in front of the bar top leading to the open kitchen.
Austin's Town Lake is four blocks, the Warehouse district is three blocks, Red River District is two blocks, the Texas Capital is a short walk and the Austin Convention Center one block away. This location is convenient to many restaurants, live music clubs, dance clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops. Shopping is varied and unique with galleries, boutiques, novelty shops and more.
The Austin chain of lakes are all within a short walk or drive. Town Lake is only 5 blocks walk away with water sports and hike and bike trails. B-Cycle Bike rentals are available across the street. It's a great way to see downtown Austin, especially the famous Austin Bats flying out of their habitat under the Congress Avenue Bridge at dusk.

Great Location - Fun Spot
Perfect for what we were looking for. Great location in proximity to the bars and nightlife of sixth street. Ian was helpful to make the process easy. Great NYE experience.
We are glad you had a good time in Austin. It's a lot of fun to be in the center of it all in Downtown.
Great location...Accommodations interesting...
The location of the condo is great and right in the heart of Austin. However, upon our arrival, the individual who welcomed us was very impatient and seemed like he had better things to do. He was very short in his explanation and acted like we were going to destroy the place. He kept saying how we can't have party and must be quiet by a certain time. It should be known that the place is right over a bar (exceptionally loud) and if you plan to sleep, it won't be before 3am. There were no amenities- paper towels, cleaning supplies, tissues, etc. If this were known we would have been prepared with our own supplies. Towels smelled moldy and drainage in showers was backed up. We were down there to have a good time and made the best of it, but the service should be reevaluated.
On the bright side, we were within walking distance of everything and spent much of our time outside. This is a great location and we were content with our stay despite a few things.
IF YOU LIKE TO SLEEP DON'T COME HERE
The description tells that the condo is situated close to the bars, but fails to tell that it is actually upstairs from one.
Here you can enjoy the bass from downstairs all night long. And thats one good sound system there. The floor of the apartment shakes nicely to the beat. And so does your bed.
And the party doesn't quit when the bars do (2am)! You have drunken people shouting under your window all the way to morning. And as the windows are facing the sixth street you can enjoy the drunken shouting with clear sound. Wuhuu!
So if you really like to be so drunk that you pass out every night this is the place for you. For the rest of you - stay somewhere else.
A dirty frat house
This place is an absolute abomination. It's filthy, crappy, loud, and frankly dangerous in some regards.
It never looked great in the photos on here, but it is so much worse than that.
If you really don't care at all about filth or decrepit accommodations or loud noise until 2:30 or 3am, this place is right on the strip. So it has that going for it.
I just wish I could upload my photos of this place.
Here's my letter to the manager, who has just stopped answering my emails at this point:
I need to file a complaint.
The unit we stayed in over the weekend was disgusting and certainly a far cry from the unit described and pictured in the listing.
The unit was beyond dirty. Black mold in the showers, dirt on the floor, couches and shelves, rat droppings strewn around.
No where was it mentioned that the building has absolutely no insulation or noise deadening and that it would be absolutely impossible to sleep until after 2am.
No where was it mentioned that one of the beds is literally a mattress on a raised piece of floor.
Half the light bulbs didn't work.
A box fan that was left for us to use was literally covered in dust and dirt.
We were required to Windex the counter tops after leaving? Why are we paying a cleaning fee if we're cleaning the unit ourselves? (Side note, that is not what Windex is for....)
This is all after the first unit we were brought to hadn't been cleaning at all. There were no sheets of most of the beds, and some that had clearly not been changed since the last group had slept there. If I hadn't had checked the rooms and complained, we would have been sleeping in soiled linens.
The ceiling fan is so low in the downstairs bedroom that it was literally hitting both myself and my friend in the head when we walked through the room. God forbid we had turned it on and run into it.
The entire building smelled of mold. I get that it's an old building and those sometimes have odd smells. This smell was not that. This was mold which is horrible for people's health.
Look, you can rent out this frat house all you want to people you tell that it's a frat house. But your ad was purposely misleading and it's unacceptable.
The horrid state of our accommodations put a sever damper on the mood of our trip and group-- a trip that was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime happy memory for the bachelor.
I truly hope you rectify this issue. A refund is honestly the least that should be done.
