Our mountain house is located in northern New Mexico, at an elevation of 8600 feet above sea level. Artist, Gary Neblett, designed this three level home, and it is full of western art, rustic charm. Our house has four bedrooms, with 2 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms, three living areas, 3 rock fireplaces, dining room, kitchen and exquisite views of Wheeler Peak, the tallest mountain in New Mexico, and surrounded by towering pines and aspen trees. The first level has a master bedroom with king size bed, private full bath, a guest bedroom with queen size bed, bunkroom with two full size beds and two bunk beds, with an adjoining HD TV room with full bath, 1Queen hide-a-bed sofa and laundry. The second level is the main living area and contains a fully furnished kitchen, TV room with large, flat screen HD TV and rock fireplace, dining room with sitting area, and living room with soaring vaulted ceilings and massive stone fireplace. There is a Queen size hide-a-bed in the TV room and a Queen size futon which can be made into a bed for children in the dining/sitting area. All of these opening up to an expansive, wrap-around redwood deck and hot tub, with views of the mountains. The third level, previously the artist studio, now has a king size bed, large sitting area, rock fireplace, half bath, sectional sofa, which children could sleep on, two balconies, with even better views of the surrounding mountains. The house has an attached garage and large yard.
House keeping and transportation services are available on a scheduled basis at an additional cost.
Our home is a convenient 5 minute drive to the ski slopes.

We fell in love with this home when we first walked through it with our realtor. It was full of western, mountain charm with unique fireplaces in 3 rooms, high vaulted ceilings and plenty of areas for socializing with friends and getting off by yourself for reading and painting. We enjoy our wrap around decks for seeing the view of the mountains , observing wildlife in our backyard and grilling and eating out with family and friends. Our home continues to be decorated with the wonderful western art painted by the artist and original owner of the home.
Angel Fire is a wonderful ski resort for all levels of skiing abilities. And at the same time, we enjoy the summers as much as winter season. We enjoy hiking. fishing. playing golf and tennis, swimming at the top notch club house. We also love the combination of enjoying nature in the mountains and being in close proximity to the wonderful art and music venues of Taos, New Mexico. We feel like we have the best of all worlds!
My son and his son and I spent 3 great nites. We will do this again. We were three but it can handle 8-10 comfortably. TV,s everywhere, hot tub for after ski and many areas to hide, if necessary. We all loved it!!
Beautiful, relaxing, fun and all we needed! We rented this home because it appeared able to accommodate our two small families well, and offer a large room for each set of perents. In fact, it worked out great where we could make sure the girls and boys each had their own places to hang out, thereby quelling a lot of typical sibling squabbles! The hot tub was fantastic in the morning to relax with some coffee and enjoy the nature out doors. Watching the deer in the backyard was awesome and we all enjoyed that each evening. One family room was located by the kitchen and the adults enjoyed hanging out together when at the home with a little wine and drinks. One couple slept in the Master suite downstairs, and the other slept in the big room upstairs. Although we did not use all the amenities, it was great to see each typical home need easily available. The artwork is great as we are western art enthusiasts, and the decking around the house was incredible for views everywhere. The kids loved exploring outdoors and would run in the house each time they found the deer in the trees out back! The location was actually better than we thought. The map of roads is deceiving. The drive to the slopes took 5 minutes at most with a quick 3 turns on to the highway and a quick turn up to the rental shop where we parked and shuttled or walked up. The only downsides to this home was that there is no shower or tub for the top floors so the couple upstairs had to share the downstairs master suite bath or public one downstairs with the kids. The light switches were a little confusing to find and figure out and the heat for the upstairs big room is delivered through multiple small floor units; but once we got it figured out, it heat up a lot! (As you can see, it is tough finding any negatives!)
At any rate, this was a great home for the size of our group (8), and we all agreed it was an excellent place to stay. I only wish we had better snow and less wind on the slopes as our ski time at Angel Fire was limited with the Chili Express shut down. They had to shuttle us to the back side on the first day of skiing. The next day only had the two front runs open so we got a voucher for next year and went to Red River on our last full day where most of it was open and the drive was only 30 minutes. Then we came back to Angel Fire where they the kids tubed and they let us ski the front two runs at night for free! All in all, we had a great annual ski trip and absolutely loved the home!
