Privacy like this is hard to find anywhere these days... especially when you're still just minutes from everything! The house sits on 3 acres and is next to 100 acres of wilderness, so it's like being on a private reserve in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whether you're into bird watching and relaxing on the back deck listening to the creek, want to cook out and sit around the fire pit and soak in the hot tub, want to get out and explore the area attractions or just go to dinner, you're centrally located to it all.
Each of the two main bedrooms have complete privacy at opposite ends of the house, each have queen size beds, private decks and are fully stocked with fresh linens and have ceiling fans. There is plenty of storage and hanging space. The kitchen is well stocked with all your basic needs even my favorite, a french coffee press! The house is light and bright with south facing windows and catches the cool mountain breeze so there's no need for AC.
Enjoy the sunset view from the sunken hot tub while you cook out on the grill and relax around the fire pit. This house is perfect for a weekend getaway or a month long vacation... whichever it is, I guarantee you'll want to stay longer!
I grew up in Spain, Belgium and England, was tri-lingual by the age of 10. I graduated from the University of Bristol and promptly took off to work as a cook on sailboats in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. I ended up in Costa Rica where I lived for 5 years then moved to Boone NC. I now live in Asheville where I own a women's boutique so I can rent out my beautiful house in Boone for other people to enjoy when I'm not there!
Owner/Property Manager purchased this cabin in 2002
Come home to this private wooded hideaway just 5 minutes from town. Multiple decks for relaxing, a sunken hot tub with sunset views, a fire pit and bbq on the patio. Convenience to Boone, Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway make this a fantastic location for a mountain vacation!
It's hard to find this kind of privacy anywhere these days... let alone so close to everything!
Anna, we thoroughly enjoyed your mountain home. I think we spent most of our time on the deck just absorbing the quiet, the solitude, and the beauty. Tried to see the bears, but never did, just their emptying of the trash cans! We did see deer in the driveway though.
Thank you for allowing us the use of your beautiful home.
Awesome! Very comfortable with everything one needed to feel at home away from home.
My husband and I with our 3 boys stayed 5 nights. It had everything we needed to make our vacation great. We skied at Appalachian ski mountain 3 of the days and it was only a 20 minutes drive. I would highly recommend this rental to others.
Myself and five other ladies take two trips together per year and this year for our Fall trip we stayed at the Private Mountain Hideaway. The cabin was perfect for us. The location is wonderful and the deck with hot tub next to the patio is just the perfect spot to sit outside and relax. The kitchen has everything you need and we cooked almost all of our meals there. We went to the Blowing Rock Christmas Parade and shopped all day and coming back to the cabin to unwind and relax was perfect. The cabin is close to everything but, still very private tucked away in the woods.
Such a lovely property with fantastic amenities! Beautiful hiking trails right at your doorstep. Our family will definitely return!
My family had a wonderful time at the Private Mountain Hideaway. The home is larger than expected. The photographs don't do the views and scenery justice. This is very private. It's quiet, and the rooms are each their own little get-away! We're so disappointed to have to leave!
The Private Mountain Hideaway was one of the most relaxing and comfortable homes we have rented in the US or Europe. The siting of the house is wonderful, surrounded by trees and an opening to view the distant mountains. The master bedroom was fantastic, a great room with lots of light, windows and a balcony that can be opened, and a comfortable bed and linens. It also had an adjoining den with two sofas and a TV that became the primary place we hung out (when not hiking). The second bedroom, with balcony, was also very nice. The kitchen was convenient to cook and entertain in. We used the hot tub every evening. The house had so many places to curl up with a book! Or your computer, since there was good WiFi. The house does have a lot of stairs, so not for someone limited in walking. The house also spoke well of the owner, with good books on the shelves and some interesting native plants in the gardens. The location of the house was very convenient to hiking at Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Elk Knob and to local restaurants, and especially close to the Gamekeeper on Shulls Mill Road, a spectacular restaurant. Highly recommended. We will be back.
Drive the historic Blue Ridge Parkway or hike your choice of hundreds of trails. Fishing and golfing opportunities are plentiful and area Spa facilities are wonderful. Local shopping and dining are unique and varied... from outlet stores to antique malls and one of a kind shops and boutiques with an artistic flair. Enjoy exploring all the High Country has to offer.
