Privacy like this is hard to find anywhere these days... especially when you're still just minutes from everything! The house sits on 3 acres and is next to 100 acres of wilderness, so it's like being on a private reserve in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whether you're into bird watching and relaxing on the back deck listening to the creek, want to cook out and sit around the fire pit and soak in the hot tub, want to get out and explore the area attractions or just go to dinner, you're centrally located to it all.
Each of the two main bedrooms have complete privacy at opposite ends of the house, each have queen size beds, private decks and are fully stocked with fresh linens and have ceiling fans. There is plenty of storage and hanging space. The kitchen is well stocked with all your basic needs even my favorite, a french coffee press! The house is light and bright with south facing windows and catches the cool mountain breeze so there's no need for AC.
Enjoy the sunset view from the sunken hot tub while you cook out on the grill and relax around the fire pit. This house is perfect for a weekend getaway or a month long vacation... whichever it is, I guarantee you'll want to stay longer!
I grew up in Spain, Belgium and England, was tri-lingual by the age of 10. I graduated from the University of Bristol and promptly took off to work as a cook on sailboats in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. I ended up in Costa Rica where I lived for 5 years then moved to Boone NC. I now live in Asheville where I own a women's boutique so I can rent out my beautiful house in Boone for other people to enjoy when I'm not there!
Owner/Property Manager purchased this cabin in 2002
Come home to this private wooded hideaway just 5 minutes from town. Multiple decks for relaxing, a sunken hot tub with sunset views, a fire pit and bbq on the patio. Convenience to Boone, Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway make this a fantastic location for a mountain vacation!
It's hard to find this kind of privacy anywhere these days... let alone so close to everything!
Anna, we thoroughly enjoyed your mountain home. I think we spent most of our time on the deck just absorbing the quiet, the solitude, and the beauty. Tried to see the bears, but never did, just their emptying of the trash cans! We did see deer in the driveway though.
Thank you for allowing us the use of your beautiful home.
Such a lovely property with fantastic amenities! Beautiful hiking trails right at your doorstep. Our family will definitely return!
My family had a wonderful time at the Private Mountain Hideaway. The home is larger than expected. The photographs don't do the views and scenery justice. This is very private. It's quiet, and the rooms are each their own little get-away! We're so disappointed to have to leave!
The Private Mountain Hideaway was one of the most relaxing and comfortable homes we have rented in the US or Europe. The siting of the house is wonderful, surrounded by trees and an opening to view the distant mountains. The master bedroom was fantastic, a great room with lots of light, windows and a balcony that can be opened, and a comfortable bed and linens. It also had an adjoining den with two sofas and a TV that became the primary place we hung out (when not hiking). The second bedroom, with balcony, was also very nice. The kitchen was convenient to cook and entertain in. We used the hot tub every evening. The house had so many places to curl up with a book! Or your computer, since there was good WiFi. The house does have a lot of stairs, so not for someone limited in walking. The house also spoke well of the owner, with good books on the shelves and some interesting native plants in the gardens. The location of the house was very convenient to hiking at Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Elk Knob and to local restaurants, and especially close to the Gamekeeper on Shulls Mill Road, a spectacular restaurant. Highly recommended. We will be back.
That's the best review, right? We had a wonderful time in a wonderful home in a wonderful setting. The pictures don't do it justice. Just the right size for me, mom, and our 3 adult children. View? Check. Hot tub? Check. Fire pit, with the wood set up, ready to light? Check and check!! The home was very secluded, but just moments from civilization. Everything was included - we cooked in several meals, and had all we needed for cooking and serving. Plenty of towels, but a washer and dryer included in case you wanted to do a quick load.
As I said at the start, we'll be back!!
My husband, our two kids (8 and 4) and I stayed for a week last August and we had a great time. Not only plenty of place to visit in Boone but the cabin itself is really enjoyable. The back deck, with a hut tub, fire pit and barbecue became a perfect spot to relax after a long day hiking the mountains with the kids. Just minutes from downtown and you are in the middle of nowhere. It has a well stocked kitchen with all you need to spend time inside as well. The bedrooms are nicely distributed with bathrooms and a tv area upstairs with plenty of books and games. The master bedroom is huge and full of windows and skylights that let you enjoy the view even more. The kitchen and the living room are nicely decorated and plenty of windows all over the place to enjoy the nature and the amazing trees surrounding the cabin. Opening the windows at night for a fresh breeze and the wood sounds was amazing! Anna, The owner is very friendly and great with communicating and making sure your arrival and stay is easy. We personally enjoyed Grandfather Mountain and Linville falls/Caverns. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet get away. We will definitely be returning!!
We rented this lovely home during our daughter's graduation from ASU. It was perfect! Wonderful outdoor spaces to enjoy with family and friends. Private and quiet area with beautiful views. Emaculately clean and inviting home with everything you need for a relaxing time away. Thank you for sharing and we look forward to coming again!
Drive the historic Blue Ridge Parkway or hike your choice of hundreds of trails. Fishing and golfing opportunities are plentiful and area Spa facilities are wonderful. Local shopping and dining are unique and varied... from outlet stores to antique malls and one of a kind shops and boutiques with an artistic flair. Enjoy exploring all the High Country has to offer.
