This cozy cottage has 3 bedrooms, fireplace, full kitchen, Internet access and cable TV. Enjoy a quiet evening around the fire pit in the backyard as you feel the fresh breeze off Lake Michigan located just minutes away. There is also a garage for your convenience.
Our family is currently from the Chicagoland area I work in downtown Chicago and my wife is a personal fitness trainer.
Al Gallegos purchased this cottage in 2008
Our family started visiting the Manistee when we would go skiing in Cadillac at Cabarfae Ski Resort. We would come up to this area so often we decided to purchase a small home. Since then we come up all year long, in the winter for skiing, the summer for fishing, golfing and boating. Over the years we put a lot of work in to this cottage and our family has had a lot of great times. We want to show you what Manistee has to offer.
We had a relaxing trip. Your home was very comfortable. Rick was there when we arrived and checked in with us periodically. The only problem we noticed was internet connection, but my husband reset it and fired up fine. Everything else worked well.
We drove up to Oneckama (winery), fished Lake Manistee (lots of rock bass and perch) and ate at the Little River Casino.
Thank you for allowing us to stay. We had a great visit!
It is a cozy cottage within minutes walking distance from one of the best Lake Michigan beaches. Very spacious bedrooms and family room. Kitchen is well appointed and equipped. Owner and property manager very responsive. Really, no complaints.
Little things not finished modeling wood trim would not rent again 3 times was to much
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Gloria Cottage in Manistee and would come back and also recommend the property to others looking for a getaway. The location was wonderful being close to the adorable downtown Manistee as well as Frankfort and Point Betsie Lighthouse. It was a great size for our group.
Just a few comments...
1. Cosmetic improvements are still being made to the property but there wasn't anything that would keep us away.
2. The beds are all full-sized - not horrible but not ideal. We would have preferred a queen and some twins. Again, not a deal breaker. They were comfortable.
3. The WIFI was very slow. So, we ended up turning it off and using our data. Not a huge deal but, it would have been if any of us had to do any work.
Thanks for the memories. We enjoyed our stay.
We were promptly greeted by Rick the property manager, apologizing that the toilet seat was broken, it was just the lid so it wasn't a problem, he was very nice. The beach right down the road was wonderful and we had the place to ourselves most of the time. We brought our trike so the garage was nice to have. The bedrooms have full size beds, not queens but we made do. The sheets were clean and smelled good, same with the bathroom towels. Despite the windows being open, the house has a musty smell, probably because it's closed up a lot, it seemed to be in the middle of some remodeling projects. The fans in a couple of the bedrooms were nice, especially since the house only has a window ac unit in the living room/kitchen area. My husband forgot his coffee, but they had some there which was a pleasant surprise! The couch is old and uncomfortable (the cushions are wore out so you end up feeling as if you're sitting on the wood bottom). Overall, the cottage served us well for the long weekend and was appropriately priced.
This rental has everything you need, enough room for 4 adults and 2 children. Close to beaches ,town, and grocery , and other stores. Weather was great and we really had a great time. Bikes were a real hit for my youngest grand son and the small beach down the road was great, like having a private beach. Rick the care taker answered all our questions and directed us to some really great places to eat and to go fishing. You can't go wrong with this rental , at least it was a great vacation for us.
The exterior of the cottege was disappointing but once we got in then it was good. The best thing is that we took our pets and we always have their pet taxi and they were able to stay in the large garage. It was very big and cool for them to stay comfortably. So if you have pets, this is great. I don't like dog hair on my furniture so I was glad to have the rules there with no pets on the furniture or in the bedrooms.
We had a pontoon boat and we were able to park that ok. There was a pop-up camper not being used in the way of parking in the drive way. Also the grass was really long and it got mowed a couple of days after we got there.
Our pontoon boat cover ripped on the way from southern Indiana and we were able to find a guy that came to our cottage and repaired it then brought it back to us. That was crazy awesome!
We went all over to Northport and Sleeping Bear Dunes so we weren't there all that much except in evenings. Beds are small. Coffee pot took literally one hour to brew. So sad!!!
Lots of kitchen stuff. We cook a lot!
Probly would stay again if we go to that Area.
Ate at Cherry Hut, so good! Also ate at Flap Jack Shak in Traverse City and the service was so awesome and friendly!
Thanks hope this is good for you too!

While staying in Manistee visit downtown area and take a stroll down the River Walk. There are also several great restaurants on River Street. Take the family to the many pristine beaches in Manistee. If your thing is water sports then there are many places that offer canoeing and paddle board trips.
